Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

The Sword God looked around, realizing that those who had managed to survive the initial attack were being corrupted. Purplerain still

pushed on his sword, seemingly having lost all rhyme or reason as he tried to fight back against him.

The Sword God grinned at the power of the sword, then turned toward Purplerain, his eyes growing cold.

“Calm down!”

His words immediately calmed the raging corruption inside Purplerain, who staggered back when he realized he had nearly lost himself.

“Get a hold of yourself, Purplerain,” the Sword God said. “If something as simple as this is enough to make you lose your mind, you’ll never be a god.”

Purplerain gritted his teeth and moved away.

The Sword God turned back toward Steelmind, who was being surrounded by the Saber God and the Method God, being kept from leaving. They weren’t attacking with the intent to kill, so Steelmind was still okay. But as for how long that would be, no one knew.

Steelmind looked at the approaching Sword God, doing everything he could to keep himself lucid and not fall to the sword’s corruption.

“You know,” the Sword God said, “I would appreciate it if you didn’t attack my people. We only just set up our little group recently, so I don’t want to go around gathering more people.”

“You talk too much, Surestrike,” the Saber God said. “Just get this over with.”

The Sword God smirked. “Don’t worry. He’s nearly out of it. You can see it in his eyes.”

Steelmind could feel his own mind slipping away every second,

finding it harder and harder to keep himself awake as the power of the sword drew so much from him.

Still, he turned toward the source of brightness far off in the distance. He had to… he had to get to it. He had to get to the sun. And if that required him to mow through these three, he was now willing.

He felt that was the only way to do this in the first place.

In fact, he kind of wanted to do this. These men wanted to hurt him, so wouldn’t it be fair for him to hurt them back?

Steelmind lost all his prior inhibitions and unleashed an attack toward the Sword God. He was the leader, so he would be his target.

The Sword God fought back, surprised by Steelmind’s power. It was reaching close to his own now-a Celestial.

The Method God acted, his sword swing reaching Steelmind, who hadn’t bothered to block it at all. Physical pain meant little to Steelmind, but the Method God’s sword slash carried more than just a physical attack.

The Spiritual Providence technique allowed him to cover all weapons with his spiritual power, letting it fly along with the sword slashes.

As soon as the spiritual attack hit Steelmind, the scale between his soul and the sword’s spirit that had been at a balance all this time suddenly slipped, and all of the sword’s suggestions came devouring in.

Steelmind didn’t go unconscious. He was still there, controlling every strike and slash. He saw every wound he inflicted on the others, every kill he made.

And with each one, he grew happier, wishing to do the same to more of them. Wherever he looked, he would see one of the gods that came for him, and he would attack them without holding back.

Most of the others who had come with the gods were either dead or heavily wounded. The gods themselves weren’t so safe either.

Only the Sword God managed to stand toe to toe with Steelmind, and even then he had to fight not just Steelmind but also the corruption. Black veins had started appearing around his body too, but they could not corrupt the god.

Steelmind held back nothing in his attacks, letting the dark aura wring him dry. And even then, it continued to drain away his life, turning it all into power.

The pain of that was unimaginable.

Whether because of the pain or because there wasn’t much left for the corruption to take away from him, Steelmind’s own senses took over, his mind trying to understand how he could’ve done all of this. He had made every single choice himself, and yet now it looked like someone else had taken over his mind.

That was the power of the corruption. That was the power he was hoping to destroy by destroying the sword. He looked around at the sight of the massacre, dozens of bodies laying eviscerated. Only a handful of the original count had survived.

The Method God, who was the weakest of all the gods, had managed to survive, but he had lost his arm and was bleeding profusely.

The Saber God no longer had his sabers out and stood behind the Sword God, seeking his protection. There were a few of his own subordinates to the side, each wounded deeply.

Purplerain was far to the side, never once joining the battle after the

first strike.

As for the Death Sage, Steelmind had no way of telling what had happened. He didn’t remember killing the sage, but then, he didn’t see

the sage around either.

Steelmind, even in his weakened state, looked at each of them,

sending fear through their hearts. They had seen his power, something they said they sought for.

He wanted to kill them all and rid the world of these Slayers. They

were only just getting started, so the situation would be bad if they were left alive.

And yet, the situation would be so much worse if the sword wasn’t destroyed.

As much as he hated these people, he had to focus on the sword. But how? How could he destroy it in his weakened state?

‘Kill! Kill! Kill!’

He could hear it in his mind now. The sword’s spirit spoke to him with

clear words.

“Come on…” the Sword God said, his words slippery and slimy to the

ears, carrying no less impact than the sword’s spirit. “Let it all be over.

Just kill yourself.”
