Overlord of the Wilderness

------------------

On the mountainside of Rising Sun Peak, the four medicine slaves all had looks of horror on their faces. Zhaang Ye, who had just entered the True Dao Realm, had actually managed to drive off Lan Heying, a True Dao Second Layer expert. This was simply too hard to believe!

Mu the Third’s face was ashen. He said in horror, ”Heavens, oh heavens! How can Zhaang Ye be so powerful? He just entered the True Dao Realm, yet he can contend with a True Dao Second Layer expert. He’s an absolute monster!”

Teng the Fourth’s gaze was vacant as he murmured, ”H-heavens! We’re finished! Even that fiend Lan Heying was no match for Zhaang Ye. What are we going to do?”

Cao the Second stared at the Green Blood Spiritual Lotus in his palm, his expression utterly dejected. He muttered, ”Heavens, am I seeing things? Lan Heying was an Inner Sect Disciple from the previous generation, yet even she couldn’t defeat Zhaang Ye. How is that possible? How can his combat prowess be so formidable?!”

Even Boss Hua, who was usually the calmest, now had a grim expression. The four of them collapsed to the ground, looking at each other in dismay, their faces clouded with worry. The Green Blood Spiritual Lotuses in their palms danced cheerfully in the wind, as if mocking them.

「Inside Chaoyang Hall.」

Zhaang Ye sat cross-legged on the jade bed, absorbing an Essence Stone. After a long while, Zhaang Ye finished absorbing the Essence Stone. He let out a long breath and opened his eyes.

SWOOSH!

Zhaang Ye retrieved the Long Whip from his Small Space. Looking at the Long Whip in his hand, Zhaang Ye fell into thought.

This Long Whip in his hand required Ancient Elephant Power to unleash its full might. Although Zhaang Ye’s Celestial River Righteous Qi could also activate the Long Whip, it was extremely taxing. During his battle with Lan Heying, Zhaang Ye had relied entirely on a life-or-death fighting style to gain the upper hand and drive her away.

Gazing at the Long Whip, Zhaang Ye thought to himself, ’Even though I don’t have Ancient Elephant Power in my body, this Long Whip is already tinged with my aura. I should be able to refine it. I’ll try refining it right now. If I can successfully refine this whip, it will be much more convenient to use in the future.’

The method for refining True Artifacts was more or less the same for all. It involved using one’s blood as a catalyst and then engraving one’s own Spiritual Brand into the True Artifact. Once done, the True Artifact would become like an extension of oneself, allowing its wielder to unleash its greatest power.

”Go!”

Zhaang Ye extended his middle finger, and with a light tap, a drop of blood fell onto the Long Whip. Then, his Spiritual Sense entered the Long Whip and began the refining process.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

The moment Zhaang Ye’s Spiritual Sense entered the Long Whip, the Ancient Elephant Power within it surged forth like a mad tide. This Ancient Elephant Power was incredibly potent. If Zhaang Ye hadn’t yet entered the True Dao Realm, he would surely have been injured by it. But now that Zhaang Ye had entered the True Dao Realm, the Celestial River Righteous Qi in his body was pure and powerful, capable of devouring any kind of energy.

The instant the Ancient Elephant Power appeared, the Celestial River Righteous Qi in Zhaang Ye’s body began to circulate, frantically devouring it. The Long Whip even began to emit strange noises.

CRACKLE! CRACKLE!

Zhaang Ye’s Celestial River Righteous Qi gradually gained the upper hand, slowly pouring into the Long Whip. The beautiful Long Whip was slowly being filled with a golden light. This golden light was formed from Zhaang Ye’s condensed Celestial River Righteous Qi. The refinement would be a success once this golden light occupied the entire whip.

「Three days later.」

The golden light condensed from his Celestial River Righteous Qi had already occupied one-third of the Long Whip, leaving two-thirds unrefined.

Three consecutive days of refining had already exceeded Zhaang Ye’s expectations, and the Celestial River Righteous Qi in his body was starting to weaken. However, instead of being alarmed, Zhaang Ye was pleasantly surprised. He knew that the harder a True Artifact was to refine, the higher its grade. For example, a typical Ninth-Grade True Artifact could be completely refined by a True Dao Expert in just one day. And an Eighth-Grade True Artifact would take no more than three days.

He had been refining the Long Whip in his hand for three full days, yet had only managed to refine a third of it. It was certain that this Long Whip’s grade was much higher than an Eighth-Grade True Artifact.

Sensing the weakening of his Celestial River Righteous Qi, Zhaang Ye had a thought, and over a hundred Essence Stones instantly appeared around him. The hundred-plus Essence Stones were piled together, emitting a dense Essence Qi. Zhaang Ye’s Celestial River Righteous Qi circulated ceaselessly, simultaneously absorbing the Essence Qi from the stones while continuing the refinement.

Six days later, Zhaang Ye had completely absorbed the Essence Qi from the hundred Essence Stones.

The golden light condensed from his Celestial River Righteous Qi had now occupied two-thirds of the Long Whip, leaving one-third unrefined. The Ancient Elephant Power inside the Long Whip was endless, and the resistance Zhaang Ye faced grew stronger and stronger.

The difficulty of refining the Long Whip far exceeded Zhaang Ye’s expectations. But having come this far, Zhaang Ye had no reason to give up. He gritted his teeth, took out another hundred-plus Essence Stones from his Small Space, and continued to absorb their Essence Qi to go all-out in refining the whip.

「Nine days later.」

The vast majority of the Long Whip was now occupied by Celestial River Righteous Qi, glowing with a brilliant golden light. Only a small section at the tip remained unrefined. Zhaang Ye knew this was the critical moment. Ignoring the ache in his heart over the expense, he took out three hundred Essence Stones from his Small Space at once and began to frantically absorb their Essence Qi.

After a long while, Zhaang Ye had finally accumulated enough power. With a loud cry, he spat several mouthfuls of golden blood onto the Long Whip! PFFT! PFFT! PFFT!

The blood Zhaang Ye spat out contained his Spiritual Qi and appeared golden-yellow. This method of spitting out mouthfuls of blood to aid in refinement was very damaging to one’s Cultivation. But at this point, Zhaang Ye couldn’t care less. He wanted to finish refining this stubborn whip in one final push!

As the golden blood landed on the Long Whip, it trembled with a VMMMM, and its golden light flared brilliantly. Zhaang Ye gritted his teeth as the Celestial River Righteous Qi in his body surged toward the Long Whip like a great river!

BOOM!

Following Zhaang Ye’s final push, a huge sound erupted from within the Long Whip, and its entire body was enveloped in a dense golden light. Then, the golden light suddenly dissipated. The Long Whip flew up from the ground like a dragon and hovered in the air.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

The Long Whip hovered in the air, emitting a destructive aura that made the entire Chaoyang Hall creak under the pressure. Even more miraculously, the Long Whip actually swayed gently in time with Zhaang Ye’s breathing, giving it an extremely life-like and agile feel.

”Haha! I’ve finally refined this Long Whip!” Zhaang Ye looked at the whip in the air, his heart filled with anticipation. He had spent a total of five hundred Essence Stones to refine this whip. Now, Zhaang Ye only wanted to know what grade of True Artifact it was.

The hovering Long Whip seemed to sense Zhaang Ye’s thoughts. It swam cheerfully through the air, its body emitting a flash of golden light. Then, a stream of information appeared in Zhaang Ye’s mind.

This information came from the Long Whip itself; it was essentially the whip’s instruction manual.

After Zhaang Ye processed this information, an extremely strange expression appeared on his face.

It turned out that in Ancient Times, the experts of the Elephant Race were all focused on Cultivation and gave no thought to matters like marriage and having children. Under these circumstances, the population of the Elephant Race grew increasingly scarce. In just a few hundred thousand years, their population had shrunk by ninety percent, leaving only a meager ten percent behind!

Seeing this, the Elders of the Elephant Race issued a mandatory order: once members of the Elephant Race reached a certain stage of maturity, they had to marry and produce offspring. Otherwise, they would face punishment from the Elders. To punish those who only cared about Cultivation and neglected marriage and procreation, the Elders ordered master refiners to forge a batch of long whips.

This batch of long whips was named the Punishment True Whip. They were refined from the hides of several types of Ancient Exotic Beasts, inscribed with forty-five Arrays, and were classified as Fifth-Grade True Artifacts. A lash from the Punishment True Whip was exceptionally painful, a pain that went straight to the heart. If struck by the Punishment True Whip, it would be impossible to cultivate or sleep.

What was even more bizarre was that the Punishment True Whip actually had a powerful aphrodisiac effect! After being struck several dozen times with this whip, a member of the Elephant Race would be consumed by lust. A male elephant would immediately seek out a female to mate with, and the female would also become greatly interested in the male... In this way, the population of the Elephant Race could flourish!

Understanding the whip’s... ”wonderful” uses, Zhaang Ye was at a loss whether to laugh or to cry. This whip could make even a Mammoth as strong as a mountain burn with lust. ’If this were used on a person,’ he thought, ’they’d probably pounce on a sow without a second thought.’

Zhaang Ye finally understood why Lan Heying had worn such a bizarre expression and left in such a hurry after her hand was lightly grazed by the whip. It seemed that when the Punishment True Whip struck her, she had been instantly consumed by lust. If she hadn’t left quickly, she probably wouldn’t have been able to hold back!

”This Punishment True Whip is just too degenerate! Way too degenerate!” Zhaang Ye couldn’t help but sigh to the heavens.

Although he felt the Punishment True Whip was a bit degenerate, it was a Fifth-Grade True Artifact after all. With this thing, his combat power would increase dramatically.

Obtaining such a whip put Zhaang Ye in a very good mood.

What made Zhaang Ye even happier was that the Punishment True Whip actually contained a set of whip techniques. This Whip Technique was called the ”Punishment Whip Technique,” and using it could bring out the full power of the Punishment True Whip!

”I’d like to see just how powerful this Whip Technique is!”

Zhaang Ye leaped into the air, brought the Long Whip to the west side of Rising Sun Peak, and with a mere thought, lashed out at a flat patch of grass.

VMMMM!

As Zhaang Ye’s whip descended, a light too brilliant to look at directly flashed, and the entire Rising Sun Peak trembled violently. When the trembling stopped, a chasm several dozen zhang wide and a full twenty li long appeared before Zhaang Ye’s eyes! (To be continued.
