Overlord of the Wilderness

After activating the bloodline of the Ancient Blood-sucking Celestial Ape, Xingxing’Er’s power surged tenfold, and his speed also quickened slightly. His emaciated body contained immense power, and his breaths carried a faint, strange sound. As he transformed into a cloud of blood and lunged forward, it was like a great mountain collapsing. The entire hundred-zhang-wide arena began to tremble.

”Amazing!”

Seeing Xingxing’Er’s utterly terrifying attack, the audience felt their hearts tremble. They all shot to their feet and roared in unison. Deep down, everyone revered power. Xingxing’Er’s simple lunge was not only as fast as lightning but also contained boundless strength. It was simply exhilarating!

The other contestants also fixed their gazes on Zhaang Ye and Xingxing’Er. Seeing such a horrifying attack, the faces of these geniuses changed instantly. A single thought flashed through all their minds: ’Xingxing’Er’s speed is so fearsome, and his power is just as terrifying. Who could possibly withstand him?’

”BOOM!”

Xingxing’Er’s figure was like a meteor striking the earth, arriving in a flash. His Gang Qi crashed down like a mountain.

Zhaang Ye’s face was calm, a cold smile touching his lips. ’If Xingxing’Er relied on his incredible speed, it would take me some effort to defeat him. But for him to actually trade blows with me head-on... that’s just courting death.’

Zhaang Ye didn’t move an inch. When Xingxing’Er drew near, Zhaang Ye suddenly raised a hand, clenched it into a fist, and threw a punch.

’Zhaang Ye wants to meet force with force?’ The audience all wore expressions of eager anticipation. They were already prepared to cheer for Xingxing’Er’s incredibly violent strike.

’Zhaang Ye wants to meet force with force?’ A flicker of disappointment crossed the eyes of Red Cliff Celestial Ape, Fengyun Sheng, and Ye Cangtian. Xingxing’Er’s own power was already considerable, and after a tenfold increase, even they wouldn’t dare to underestimate it. For an ordinary Half-Step True Dao Expert like Zhaang Ye to clash head-on with Xingxing’Er—it was simply courting death!

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Zhaang Ye’s fist violently collided with Xingxing’Er’s palms.

”BOOM!”

Zhaang Ye’s fist smashed violently against Xingxing’Er’s palms. Two immense forces collided in mid-air. Xingxing’Er felt as if he had crashed into a towering mountain, or perhaps an entire continent. The vast power he had unleashed seemed utterly minuscule before Zhaang Ye’s fist!

With a massive bang, Xingxing’Er’s gaunt body was sent flying backward like a meteorite. His attack had been as fast as lightning, but his retreat was even faster. The crowd barely registered a blur before Xingxing’Er was sent flying by Zhaang Ye’s punch. He slammed violently into the arena’s Protective Shield, making the entire shield shudder!

”HISS!”

The entire audience gasped, their faces filled with disbelief. After a long moment, someone finally murmured, ”How is that possible! How is that possible!”

”Yeah, seriously! Xingxing’Er’s last strike could have blasted through a mountain, but Zhaang Ye sent him flying with a single punch! It’s simply unbelievable!”

”That was so shocking! Zhaang Ye’s punch was terrifying! Did you see? The arena’s Protective Shield shook, and the whole Purple Jade Arena was trembling!”

...

The audience was stunned, but the competing disciples were even more profoundly shocked. These disciples were all renowned geniuses in their own right, and they knew exactly how terrifying Xingxing’Er’s attack had been. No matter how they wracked their brains, they could never have imagined that Zhaang Ye would meet force with force and send Xingxing’Er flying with a single punch!

Ye Cangtian stared intently at Zhaang Ye, a strange light glinting in his eyes. He muttered, ”What a Zhaang Ye, what a Zhaang Ye! It seems we’ve all underestimated him!”

Fengyun Sheng also nodded and said, ”This Zhaang Ye’s power is terrifying! That punch he just threw must have had at least five or six million catties of force. At the end of the day, Xingxing’Er is just a monkey. He’s fast, but his strength is on the weaker side. Even with a tenfold increase, he can’t compare to Zhaang Ye.”

At this point, Fengyun Sheng smirked at Red Cliff Celestial Ape and said, ”Brother Yuan, I’m afraid this Zhaang Ye’s strength is no less than yours. Your junior brother’s loss wasn’t undeserved.”

A cold aura emanated from Red Cliff Celestial Ape. ”Fengyun Sheng,” he said, ”my junior brother has not been defeated yet. The bloodline in his body is that of the Ancient Blood-sucking Celestial Ape. As long as he has even a shred of breath left, he can recover from his injuries quickly. That punch from Zhaang Ye was powerful, but it’s not enough to defeat my junior brother.”

Sure enough, just as Red Cliff Celestial Ape’s voice fell, Xingxing’Er was already getting to his feet. After being struck by Zhaang Ye’s brutal punch and slamming into the Protective Shield, much of the fur on his body had fallen off. His ten Sharp Sword-like nails had shattered into pieces, falling to the ground.

Although he was in a wretched state, the aura around Xingxing’Er was still terrifying. He fixed his sharp gaze on Zhaang Ye and said, word by word, ”Zhaang Ye, I’ve set my sights on you. I’m going to suck your blood!”

Zhaang Ye frowned. ”You still want to fight?”

Xingxing’Er sneered, ”What? Did you think that one punch was enough to defeat me? Let me tell you, what flows in my veins is the blood of the Ancient Blood-sucking Celestial Ape. As long as I have a shred of breath left, I can recover in an instant! Zhaang Ye, you can’t possibly defeat me! On the contrary, I *will* defeat you and drink your blood!”

”Yeah!”

The audience outside the arena had snapped out of their shock. Hearing Xingxing’Er’s domineering declaration, they immediately erupted in cheers, and a roar echoed through the valley.

Zhaang Ye shook his head slightly. ”The only thing you have to rely on is your speed. If you think you can beat me with speed alone, you are sorely mistaken. We’ll see how many moves you can last against me.”

”BOOO!”

Zhaang Ye’s words were immediately met with a wave of boos. The crowd simply didn’t believe that Zhaang Ye could defeat the lightning-fast Xingxing’Er. After all, Xingxing’Er’s speed was far faster than the human eye could follow; even Spiritual Power would have trouble locking onto him. With such incredible speed, all Xingxing’Er had to do was keep his distance, and Zhaang Ye would be completely helpless!

Xingxing’Er let out a strange cry and sneered, ”Such arrogant words! Come on! Show me what you’ve got! Let me tell you, I, Xingxing’Er, will wear you down to death today if I have to!”

A cold smile appeared on Zhaang Ye’s lips. He said slowly, ”Xingxing’Er, I will defeat you within three moves. Watch closely. I’m making my move now.”

Xingxing’Er let out another strange cry and was about to retort when he suddenly saw Zhaang Ye push out with both hands. A calm voice drifted over, ”This is my first move.”

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH—

With Zhaang Ye’s push, countless tornadoes suddenly materialized across the hundred-zhang arena. The densely packed tornadoes, carrying a strange, wailing shriek, instantly filled the entire space. Startled, Xingxing’Er quickly struck out, dissipating dozens of them with lightning speed. But for every dozen he destroyed, hundreds more appeared. In the blink of an eye, Xingxing’Er had no ground left to stand on.

’What strange tornadoes!’

Startled, Xingxing’Er shot up into the sky. He possessed the innate talent of the Ancient Blood-sucking Celestial Ape; not only was he as fast as lightning, but he could also use Void Borrowing Power, allowing him to stay airborne for long periods without having to cultivate to the True Dao. But the moment his body entered the void, he immediately sensed that something was wrong.

Xingxing’Er suddenly discovered that the tornadoes Zhaang Ye had created contained a terrifying Devouring Power. This devouring force was surprisingly strong. Under its pull, Xingxing’Er’s lightning-fast Body Technique instantly faltered, and his speed dropped by a factor of three.

”GAK GAK GAK GAK GAK!”

Xingxing’Er cried out strangely several times, his emaciated body struggling desperately to escape the terrifying Devouring Power. But Zhaang Ye had created over ten thousand tornadoes, each one containing the Devouring Power. There was no way for Xingxing’Er to escape them all!

”Ah, what terrifying tornadoes!”

The audience outside the arena was completely dumbfounded. No one could have imagined that Zhaang Ye could summon so many tornadoes with a mere wave of his hand.

Red Cliff Celestial Ape, one of the five super-experts, was also stunned by Zhaang Ye’s mystifying technique. The aura around him fluctuated slightly, a clear sign that worry had crept into his heart.

Just as Xingxing’Er was struggling with all his might, Zhaang Ye’s calm voice drifted over: ”My first move was the tornadoes. Now, my second move is coming. Get ready.”

The moment Zhaang Ye’s voice fell, Xingxing’Er sensed immense danger. Trapped within the tornadoes, he was like a small insect on a spider’s web, completely unaware of what Zhaang Ye might do next. Hearing Zhaang Ye’s voice, the bloody light around Xingxing’Er flared. He used every ounce of his strength to forcefully shift ten zhang to the side.

Xingxing’Er’s movement speed was already incredibly fast. But inside the tornadoes, Zhaang Ye was like a fish in water; Xingxing’Er’s every move was laid bare before him. Xingxing’Er moved ten zhang and had just steadied himself on the arena floor when Zhaang Ye silently appeared behind him, his hand reaching out to grab him.

POP! POP! POP! POP! POP! POP!—

The sky full of tornadoes suddenly vanished. The crowd looked toward the arena and let out a collective gasp of astonishment. In their line of sight, they saw Zhaang Ye’s hand clamped firmly around Xingxing’Er’s neck. A good deal of Xingxing’Er’s black fur had fallen off. He struggled desperately with his arms and legs, but he was completely unable to break free from Zhaang Ye’s grip.

Zhaang Ye said flatly, ”Xingxing’Er, it seems I overestimated you. I took you down in just two moves. Now, you can admit defeat.”

Xingxing’Er was utterly humiliated, his face bright red. He wished he could find a hole in the ground, slip into it, and never come out again.
