High Martial: I Grind Professions

Chapter 537: Chapter 332: Slaughtering Through (Part 2)

He even created several branching paths and illusory energy bodies to confuse his pursuer.

His movements were swift and fluid, clearly demonstrating his vast experience in subterranean combat.

However, Li Wen was too fast!

With his time acceleration, he practically ignored the distance between them.

What was even more terrifying was his divine sense—impeccably refined to the Star Lord Level. It pierced through layer after layer of rock, locking onto Nash’s true self and refusing to let go.

The rock walls were like paper before Li Wen, easily torn apart by the terrifying power contained within his saber’s light.

The illusory decoys were instantly seen through by his divine sense.

The distance between them was closing rapidly!

Nash’s heart sank. He could clearly feel the icy killing intent closing in from behind.

That sharp divine sense felt like a physical blade scraping against his soul.

BOOM!

In a relatively open underground cavern, a hard rock wall was violently shattered.

Amidst the flying debris, Li Wen’s figure appeared like a demonic god, solidly blocking Nash’s path.

The temporal fluctuations around him had yet to subside. His silver long-saber was pointed diagonally at the ground, his gaze calm but filled with boundless pressure.

Nash’s figure emerged from the dust, his expression ghastly, his eyes filled with shock and despair.

His prided underground Escape Technique was so utterly powerless against his opponent’s speed and divine sense.

He knew his escape route was cut off.

”Li Wen!” Nash panted, his eyes locked on his opponent, filled with intense resentment. ”Do you really have to be so ruthless?”

He tried to find some way out, even though he knew the hope was slim.

Li Wen’s expression didn’t flicker. His voice was terrifyingly calm. ”I need the points.”

Before the words had even faded, Li Wen’s figure vanished.

When he reappeared, he was at Nash’s side.

The silver gleam of his saber was like a bolt of lightning tearing through the darkness. With the uncanny rhythm of time acceleration, it stabbed straight for Nash’s throat!

Fast! Vicious! Precise!

Nash roared as an earthen-yellow light of Law instantly coalesced on his body, forming a thick Rock Armor.

At the same time, the bone spike in his hand erupted with a blinding yellow light, sweeping out with the force of a mountain to parry and counterattack.

DING!

The tip of the saber clashed with the bone spike, erupting in a piercing shriek and a shockwave of energy that sent spiderweb cracks across the surrounding cavern walls.

Nash felt an irresistible, immense force and a time-distorting power travel up the bone spike.

His arm shook violently, and the webbing between his thumb and forefinger instantly split open. The Rock Armor groaned as if it were about to break.

’My opponent’s strength and application of the Law far exceed my estimates,’ he thought in horror.

Not daring to hold anything back, he pushed his Earth Law to its limit. Sharp stone stalagmites instantly jutted up from the ground, shooting toward Li Wen.

Above, the rock ceiling came crashing down like a giant hammer, attempting to trap and crush him.

For a moment, the entire cavern was a whirlwind of flying sand and stone as the violent Power of an earthen Law ran rampant.

Yet, in the face of this earth-shaking assault, Li Wen’s eyes remained icy.

The silver Time Dao Seed in his Dantian pulsed with light, and [Absolute Focus] had long since been activated.

It was as if he had already foreseen the trajectory of every attack.

His figure weaved between the dense stalagmites and falling rocks like a phantom, completely untouched.

Every dodge was executed to perfection; every strike of his saber landed precisely on a weak point in Nash’s defense.

”Time Gap!”

Li Wen’s figure suddenly split into several silver afterimages, impossible to tell apart, as they attacked Nash from different angles.

Nash roared again and again, his bone spike a blur and rock walls constantly rising, but he was struggling just to keep up.

He felt like he was fighting a ghost of time and space; he had immense power but was unable to touch his opponent’s true body.

PFFT!

A flash of saber light, as if emerging from a crack in time itself, bizarrely bypassed the rock shield Nash had put all his power into forming and precisely pierced his heart.

The power of the Time Law instantly invaded his body, annihilating his life force.

Nash’s movements froze, his eyes filled with incredulous shock and deep resentment.

He looked down at the silver saber tip protruding from his chest, opened his mouth, and finally dissolved into a flash of white light, vanishing from the spot.

All that remained on the ground was the bone spike he used for hunting.

From the moment the chase began, the AI of the Virtual Cosmos had locked the main viewing angle onto the two of them.

When Li Wen cleanly one-shot Nash, the second-ranked contestant, the entire spectator space for World #13 fell deathly silent.

The audience from the Lain Empire, after a brief cheer that nearly tore through space itself, also fell silent, stunned by the overwhelmingly destructive victory.

In the section for the Tyrone Empire, those who had once cheered for Sheng Mos and cursed Li Wen were now ashen-faced, the light completely gone from their eyes.

The spectators from the other empires were also speechless, with only a single thought remaining in their minds: ’In World #13, no one can stop the God of Slaughter, Li Wen!’

With Nash’s fall, the faint glimmer of hope held by those who wished for someone to end Li Wen’s streak, who hoped a genius from their own empire could turn the tide, was utterly extinguished.

The title ”God of Slaughter” was now legendary.

「...」

Time flew by. Twenty-four full days had passed since the start of the first stage of the preliminary round.

World #13, the World of the Giant Tree, was no longer as bustling as it had been at the start of the competition.

The vast forests, plains, and subterranean tunnels were all deathly still.

The contestants who had managed to survive, regardless of their rank, were like the most timid moles. They hid deep in the most secluded corners of the underground, concealing their auras and breathing as cautiously as possible.

Their only hope was for time to pass quickly so they could survive the final six days.

In the spectator space for World #13, more than half of the hundred sections on the massive screen, which had once displayed the battles of different contestants, were now completely black.

Of the remaining screens, many showed the pathetic sight of contestants cowering in cramped spaces, not daring to move.

Only one screen remained blindingly bright.

In the center of the feed, a man with black hair and black clothes held a saber in his left hand. His posture was as straight as a pine tree as he flew slowly and openly at a low altitude over a plain.

He made no attempt to conceal his aura. His immense Star Lord Level divine sense swept brazenly over every inch of the land and every shadow below.

He was, of course, Li Wen.

After more than twenty days of cold and ruthless, indiscriminate slaughter, the title ”God of Slaughter” was no longer enough to describe the terror he had brought to this world.

He was the cleaner, the terminator.

The contestants of World #13 had been slaughtered by him to the point that they were scared out of their wits, completely losing the courage to fight back.

”Looks like no one dares to show their face anymore.”

Having flown and searched continuously for half a day without finding a single person, Li Wen finally stopped, hovering in mid-air.

His face was expressionless as he silently pulled up the current point leaderboard:

[Rank 1: Li Wen (Source Net Internal*, Lain Empire); Points: 1,213,468,278]

[Rank 2: Brandon (Gede Empire); Points: 112,464,582]

[Rank 3: Harrison (Kla Empire); Points: 25,464,157]

...

1.2 billion versus just over 100 million.

The points of the second-place contestant, Brandon, didn’t even amount to the change on Li Wen’s score.

The scores of third place and below were as insignificant as ants.

”Forget it.” Li Wen glanced at the list, his eyes indifferent.

”Aside from Brandon’s points, which are barely worth collecting, the rest are all small fry. Killing them won’t add many points.”

He once again used his divine sense to meticulously sweep the surrounding area for dozens of miles. After confirming he had still found nothing, he completely abandoned the thought of continuing his search.

’One point two billion points...’ Li Wen’s gaze fell on his own terrifying score.

A fiery glint finally ignited in his deep eyes—an anticipation that came from the bottom of his heart.

’This should be enough for a pretty high rank, right?’

He gently tightened his grip on the saber in his hand, as if he could already feel the surging power that was about to pour into his body.

’I’m looking forward to it... to seeing just how many Martial Dao experience points the final ranking will give me!’

His whisper drifted across the silent plain, carrying with it an infinite craving for power.

With the God of Slaughter ceasing his hunt, the first stage of the preliminary round in World #13 seemed to be ending ahead of schedule.

However, everyone knew this was merely the calm before the storm.

A grander stage and stronger opponents awaited this ”God of Slaughter” who had stunned the entire world with his iron-fisted methods.
