Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard

Chapter 244: Chapter 242: A Different Maxime

Fleur picked up a yellow candy and put it in her mouth, her eyes brightened instantly.

”Delicious.”

”That’s a fizzing whizbee,” Kael said with a smile. ”It’s one of Honeydukes’ best-selling candies. If you like it, I can send you more once the term starts.”

Fleur was about to nod, but suddenly thought of something and frowned, ”Sorry, I didn’t bring any meeting gifts.”

She came with a competitive mindset this time, so naturally didn’t think about bringing any gifts.

Unexpectedly, Kael was so easy-going, not only humble but also proactively gifting her without being charmed.

This made Fleur feel a bit awkward.

”No worries, just make it up next time we meet.” Kael waved his hand casually, smoothly tucking the box back into the bag.

”Alright, if we meet again, I’ll definitely make up for this gift.”

Fleur nodded, ”And once the term starts, I’ll send you some French special candies, you’ll definitely like them too.”

...

Their conversation and behavior were all seen by Maxime from the side.

She nodded slightly, and the smile that had disappeared slowly returned to her face.

After all, he’s still a twelve-year-old child. Although he resisted Fleur’s special charm talent, he would still get nervous after spending some time together.

Look, now he’s even gifting things.

Although she couldn’t immediately lure him to Beauxbatons, it was still a good start.

Moreover, if this child named Kael really had no reaction at all, that would be too scary.

The Magic Realm never lacks talented young wizards, but those who are both talented and mature are rare.

Earlier she had been considering, if that grand event could successfully be held, whether to set an age limit or something to exclude Kael.

Thinking about it now, it seems unnecessary to deliberately do so, just let nature take its course.

Seeing their conversation was almost done, Maxime no longer paid attention to the endlessly chatting McPhail nearby.

She walked over, deliberately putting on a stern face, ”I didn’t expect Dumbledore told you about that matter.

Leaking information that needs strict confidentiality to a student, this is unprecedented.”

”What matter?” Kael blinked, asking unknowingly.

Maxime stared at him for a while, then suddenly laughed, ”Not bad, quite good at keeping secrets.”

”Remember, that matter is still under strict confidentiality. Just know it yourself, if it leaks out, it could all go to waste.”

Kael was even more puzzled.

But Maxime continued speaking to herself, ”It seems you might have guessed that Fleur will participate, that’s why you said you would meet again.

But you guessed right, Fleur will definitely participate.”

Kael opened his mouth.

He really wanted to tell Maxime that what he just said was just a casual polite remark.

Like saying ”I’ll treat you to dinner next time,” it’s a special way of speaking that falls between truth and falsehood.

He had plenty of candies, and they didn’t cost much, so why bother about them? 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

But quickly, Kael realized what Maxime meant.

Triwizard Tournament!

Strict confidentiality, Fleur will surely participate... it could only be this.

But isn’t the Triwizard Tournament supposed to start two years later? Planning this early?

Thinking about this, Kael’s expression did not change at all.

Maxime lowered her head, complaining discontentedly, ”It’s all Karkaroff’s fault, the coward, we were about to finalize the discussions, but when he heard about the Hogwarts incident, he got scared and hid.

It’s just a wandering soul, what’s there to be scared of, that eat...”

”Olympe!”

McPhail suddenly shouted loudly, ”There are still kids here!”

”Sorry...” Maxime was silent for a moment. ”I just don’t understand, what’s Durmstrang thinking to let such a coward be headmaster.”

”Karkaroff might really have important things.” McPhail thought for a moment and said, ”Didn’t he say he was going to take a kid to participate in the Quidditch pro team’s selection.”

”Do you believe that?”

Maxime replied disdainfully, ”Even if that child is a Quidditch genius, is it worth it for a headmaster to personally send him to participate in a selection? And to go so far away...

Since when did Durmstrang value Quidditch so much, I always thought their broomsticks were for snow sweeping!”

”Perhaps they have changed.”

”So we just wait?” Maxime said angrily, ”Everything is ready for next year.

But now... who knows when it’ll be delayed to!”

”There’s no choice in the matter.” McPhail shook his head, ”Karkaroff represents Durmstrang, if he misses out, it can only be postponed.”

”Hum...” Maxime sneered.

A bit irritated, she directly vented her frustration on McPhail, ”Don’t just stand there, weren’t you going to brew some magic potion? I’m waiting to see your results!”

”Sorry, I suddenly don’t want to...”

Before McPhail could finish his sentence, he suddenly found his feet leaving the ground.

Maxime grabbed his collar and took him to the room behind the hall like carrying a chick.

”Wait, where are you taking me, let go, let go! I don’t want to brew!”

McPhail struggled desperately, but the size difference was too great, and he was eventually dragged into the small dark room.

Fleur stared wide-eyed at all this, her worldview shattered.

In the minds of all Beauxbatons students, Ms. Maxime had always been synonymous with elegance and composure.

She never thought that this perfect etiquette professor could act so... rough today.

”Don’t be surprised, child.”

Nicolas finally put down his popcorn at this time and said with a smile, ”They are old friends, indulge a bit when together is only understandable.

When you return to school, you’ll naturally meet the elegant Olympe again.

Oh, by the way, remember to keep this secret for her.”

Fleur nodded mechanically.

”Want to go take a look?” Nicolas invited with a smile, ”McPhail seldom showcases his magic potion skills, it’s a rare opportunity.”

”May I?”

”Of course, it’s no problem.”

Nicolas led Kael and Fleur toward the room, but as soon as they reached the door, they heard clanging noises inside.

Kael and Fleur both looked at Nicolas Flamel.

”Oh, you don’t need to worry at all.”

Nicolas seemed long used to it, calmly saying, ”It’ll be fine soon.”
