Unrivaled Miracle Doctor: The God-Defying Demonic Consort

Chapter 705: Chapter 140: Spare Her Life, I Let Go (Six Updates)

At this moment, the medicinal power inside Han Huohuo’s body erupted, leaving him drenched and miserable.

It was clear just how potent this medicinal power was!

If Mu Qingge had actually drunk it, Han Caicai couldn’t even bear to imagine the consequences. Although he knew in his heart that such means were useless against Mu Qingge, he still couldn’t help but feel a lingering fear.

At this moment, he wished he could kill Han Huohuo.

However, just as he was about to act, Han Yiren shouted, ”Second Brother! You promised Father that you wouldn’t harm Big Brother’s life! If you injure him, your position as Young Master might as well be finished.”

Han Caicai’s hand paused, his devilish features twisted with resentment. The spiritual power entwined on his hand refused to disperse for a long time.

”Second Brother—!” Seeing that he still refused to let go of Han Huohuo, Han Yiren shouted again.

But as soon as her voice fell, flames unexpectedly burst from Han Huohuo’s hand blade.

His raised hand struck down hard, to Han Yiren’s shock and Mu Qingge’s indifference, aiming between Han Huohuo’s legs.

”Ah—!” A tragic scream echoed in the wine cellar.

But outside, the night swallowed it.

A bloody piece of flesh fell from Han Huohuo, rolling on the ground a few times, collecting dust. Meanwhile, the wound between his legs was aflame, the pain rousing him from the potent drug effects only to pass out again.

The piece of flesh rolling nearby didn’t even earn a glance from Mu Qingge, who turned her eyes away disdainfully, considering it unworthy of her sight.

Han Yiren, however, stood pale and trembling slightly.

She didn’t expect Han Caicai to be so furious, to strike so ruthlessly. When he was oppressed by Han Huohuo’s faction during the struggle for the Young Master position, he had never been this angry.

But now, for the sake of a man, he...

Han Yiren gradually recovered from her shock, her stiff neck turning to look at Mu Qingge, suddenly shouting sharply: ”It’s you! It’s all because of you!”

”Shut up!” Han Caicai abruptly turned, a burst of spiritual power hitting Han Yiren’s cheek.

Immediately, it sent her rolling on the ground, blood and broken teeth spilling from her mouth.

The flames between Han Huohuo’s legs gradually receded. The area was charred, even an Immortal would find it hard to restore.

Han Caicai turned to look at Mu Qingge, the malevolent expression on his enchanting face slowly fading, he spoke with guilt: ”I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would turn out like this. I wanted to kill him for you, but I couldn’t...”

Mu Qingge looked at him calmly, speaking slowly: ”Since you’ve already handled it, I won’t intervene further. However, don’t let him appear in front of me again.”

Han Caicai nodded.

Mu Qingge suddenly said: ”However, I’m very suspicious now about who was behind this that suddenly led him here.” She and Han Huohuo had never met, so why would he drug her?

Plus, with Han Yiren’s earlier expression, she would never believe there was no connection unless she died, did they really think she was that stupid!

Anyone who tried to scheme against her, she would not let go.

She didn’t have a benevolent heart, nor such tolerance.

Her questioning voice fell, and Han Caicai subconsciously turned his gaze towards Han Yiren, who was lying on the ground with her mouth covered, face pale.

”No...it wasn’t me...” Facing Han Caicai’s gaze, Han Yiren spoke in terror.

However, Han Caicai didn’t believe a word, stepping towards her, his large shadow enveloping her. ”Tell me, did you have anything to do with this?”

When facing Han Yiren, Han Caicai didn’t act as ruthlessly as he did with Han Huohuo, instead, there was a hint of heartache hidden in his cold and severe words.

Han Yiren never thought Han Caicai would treat her like this.

Suddenly, she shouted uncontrollably: ”I was helping you! Don’t you know what you’re doing? I can’t just watch you go down the same road as Han Huohuo! Why can’t you like anyone other than a man? No matter how beautiful he is, he’s just a man. Can he extend the Han Clan’s lineage? You’re going to become the head of the Han Clan, you cannot be involved with a man!”

”That’s my business!” Han Caicai roared.

Mu Qingge felt incredibly uncomfortable being referred to as ’a man’ over and over by her.

However, she wouldn’t explain or feel the need to explain anything.

But Han Yiren overthought it—between her and Han Caicai, regardless of whether she was a man or woman, nothing would happen.

Upon being reprimanded by Han Caicai, Han Yiren went even more insane, looking at Mu Qingge and shouting: ”It’s all because of you! People say beauties bring disasters, and I see even a man like you is a disaster! How could my second brother fall into your hands? Not just my second brother, even our esteemed lord only has eyes for you!”

Her words made Mu Qingge raise an eyebrow slightly, glancing at her with a half-smile: ”If you hadn’t reminded me, I might have forgotten.”

She walked towards Han Yiren, leaning over her without caring that Han Caicai was right there, her smile carrying a hint of cruelty: ”Can you covet my man?”

The ’my man’ that she mentioned turned Han Yiren’s eyes to a state of terror, mixed with disgust. She looked at Mu Qingge with revulsion: ”So you do like men!”

”What’s wrong with me liking men?” Mu Qingge smiled playfully.

Han Yiren felt even more disgusted, looking at Han Caicai and saying: ”You used Big Brother’s hobbies to pull him down from the Young Master position. How come now it’s you who’s fallen in?”

Her words angered Han Caicai, turning his face blue.

He was about to speak when Mu Qingge laughed, ”Matters of the Han Family have nothing to do with me, nor do I want to get involved. But what you absolutely should not have done is provoke me.”

”Han Yiren, what on earth have you done behind my back?” Han Caicai gritted his teeth.

Han Yiren’s entire body shivered, her expression starting to panic.

Her reaction left Han Caicai with no need to ask further, his narrow eyes revealing a hint of heartache, ”So you really did take action, and I reminded you many times, why wouldn’t you listen?”

”I did it for you!” Han Yiren argued loudly.

She fully supported Han Caicai in capturing the position of Young Master; if he ultimately failed and was ruined, her fate would not be good either. Therefore, she absolutely couldn’t let Han Caicai stray from the right path.

”Enough! Stop making excuses for yourself. Do you think I’m still that young boy abandoned by the family, needing your help to barely escape from being hunted down? I know very well what I’m doing, and I know what should and shouldn’t be done,” Han Caicai shouted loudly.

His words made Mu Qingge shift her gaze towards him; she detected the bitterness in his voice.

”Qingge...” Suddenly, Han Caicai turned to look at Mu Qingge, with a sinister restraint on his charming face. ”Spare her life, I promise to cut off all her inappropriate thoughts.”

Mu Qingge raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

Han Yiren, however, frenetically grabbed Han Caicai’s clothes, pulling at him and shouting, ”Why are you begging him! What right does he have to make you, the Young Master of the Han Family, bow? Just a lowly scoundrel who serves people with his looks.”

”Han Yiren!” Han Caicai abruptly turned to look at her.

In his narrow eyes, a sharp and fierce glint flared.

He slowly shook his head, ”Your arrogance will, sooner or later, lead to your demise. Rather than let you walk into death, I’d rather you spend your life in ignorance.”

With that, he suddenly struck, slapping Han Yiren’s head.

His fierce action surprised Mu Qingge; she had thought Han Caicai was only giving a minor punishment to keep Han Yiren in check. Considering Han Caicai’s face, she didn’t intend to insist on killing her.

Yet, she hadn’t expected Han Caicai to be so resolute, striking directly.

Slap!

Han Yiren was startled, her eyes widened, and a drop of crimson blood dripped from her forehead.

As her consciousness faded, she vaguely heard Mu Qingge’s voice, ”Why didn’t you just tell her that I am a woman? The things she worries about, whether you fancy men or our relationship, wouldn’t happen.”

Mu Qingge is a woman?

A woman!

How is that possible?

Han Yiren’s vision grew dark, and she fainted.

Han Caicai silently watched the unconscious Han Yiren, showing a bitter smile. He said to Mu Qingge, ”With her character, even if you spare her today, sooner or later, she’ll cause trouble. Growing up in this Han Family, one has to face too many schemes and traps; I don’t want her to eventually lose her life, nor do I wish her foolishness to lead the entire Han Family to ruin. This way is best for her; from now on, she can live simply, and I’ll take good care of her.”

Mu Qingge remained silent.

She had just arrived at the Han Clan, and the result was the two direct lineage members being one impaired, one foolish.

Han Caicai’s strike wouldn’t take Han Yiren’s life but would cause her to lose her memory completely, unable to recall her past, and even her intelligence might be affected.

Of course, this was not a consequence she intentionally provoked, but if the current Family Head of the Han Family knew, he wouldn’t let her off, right?

”I’ll handle this matter properly, it won’t implicate you,” Han Caicai suddenly said.

Mu Qingge looked at him but said nothing.

Han Caicai somewhat dazedly squatted down, looking at Han Yiren and said, ”Actually, Yiren and I were not born of the same mother. Her mother was highly favored, while my mother was neglected for not knowing how to vie for affection. Moreover, my bloodline wasn’t good at the time. It was Yiren who secretly helped me, allowing me to escape many dangers. Later, my mother only managed to pass away peacefully thanks to her care. When I returned to the Han Clan, it was also her assistance that helped me seize the position of Young Master. But compared to her past help, her current assistance is accompanied by personal gains, as she doesn’t want Han Huohuo to become the Young Master either. I am grateful to her, remembering her old kindness. Yet, she increasingly wants to control me, even forcing me for benefits to marry into the Ruan Family. Nevertheless, whatever I owe her, I’ll repay; I’ll not let her die, keeping her alive and caring for her for life, is to pay back.”

Mu Qingge still said nothing.

Han Caicai suddenly stood up with laughter, his laughter carried a hint of longing.

He turned to Mu Qingge and said, ”You’re right, the person I love most is still myself. Today, it seems as if I’ve hurt my sibling for you, but who knows if it’s because I find Han Huohuo annoying, or am troubled by Han Yiren that I’ve taken such severe action?”

Mu Qingge pressed her lips lightly together, not intending to answer.

Han Caicai walked to the liquor rack, randomly grabbed a jar of wine, opened the seal, and poured it into his mouth with both hands holding the jar.

Most of the wine flowed from the corners of his mouth; his eyes seemed to glimmer, or maybe not. In that moment, Mu Qingge couldn’t be sure.

Half of the jar, Han Caicai drank, half spilled. His arms dropped, his fingers loosening from the jar, letting the empty jar fall to the ground, rolling towards Mu Qingge’s feet.

”Mu Qingge, let’s continue being friends,” Han Caicai looked at Mu Qingge and said.

The long narrow eyes seemed to have returned to the time they first met, making it difficult to see through the thoughts in his eyes.

He stumbled over to a low table beside and sat down, the luxurious brocade robe on him now seemed to dull a lot. ”I let go, I no longer chain myself to you, nor will I chase after asking why you won’t love me. I’m too selfish and too utilitarian, I can’t give myself wholly to love you, give my all for you. I’m unwilling to lose the position of Young Master of the Han Family, I don’t want to give up all I’ve earned. Since I can accomplish nothing, what right do I have to seek your love?”

”Han Caicai...” Mu Qingge finally spoke.

But was interrupted by Han Caicai raising his hand; he looked over at her, his long narrow eyes seemed to recover the radiance of old times, ”I think the relationship between being both adversaries and friends might suit us better. I will still continue to strive hard, hoping someday to catch up to you, surpass you, and fiercely win against you once.”

’Are you really relieved?’

Mu Qingge wondered in her heart.

She looked at Han Caicai, suddenly unable to figure out what to say.

Clearing things with Han Caicai was something she always wanted to do. But today’s reaction from Han Caicai left her unsure how to respond.

”Don’t assume I’m saying this just because these events happened. In fact, before I was called out, I had already intended to say these words to you.” His gaze swept over Han Huohuo and Han Yiren lying on the ground, giving a bitter smile, ”Who knew this happened, it’s their own doing.”

’Turns out Han Caicai intended to say this back then,’ Mu Qingge realized in her heart.

”The events tonight, if not related to me, probably the two of them, or their representing families, with your character, would’ve disappeared,” Han Caicai pointed at the two on the ground, teasingly said.

”Yes.” Mu Qingge nodded.

She has always been someone who avenges grudges, never denying it.

Han Caicai laughed, ”So, thank you.”

”Don’t mention it,” Mu Qingge said in a low voice.
