Unrivaled Miracle Doctor: The God-Defying Demonic Consort

Chapter 247: Chapter 247: Return of the King (Part 8)

The reality made Qin Yilian pout and say discontentedly, ”Why didn’t you come to see Lianlian, big brother? Have you stopped thinking about Lianlian? And I’ve written so many letters to you, but you haven’t replied to even one.”

Mu Qingge’s lips twitched; suddenly, she didn’t know how to explain this to the little princess.

Not only had she not replied to those letters, but she hadn’t even read them.

”Big brother, welcome back! To welcome you back, Lianlian wants to give you candy!” Luckily, Qin Yilian did not intend to pursue this matter further and took the initiative to offer a piece of candy to Mu Qingge.

The candy so close in front of her reminded Mu Qingge of the second time they met.

The innocent little princess had also offered her candy back then, but she had ignored it. Since then, she hadn’t brought up giving her candy again.

Perhaps in the little princess’s heart, candy was something she loved, and sharing something she loved was a way to express her fondness for someone.

However, this kind of affection was something Mu Qingge found herself resisting.

There was Qin Yiyao before her, whom even now she could only pretend not to see; she couldn’t afford to invite any more romantic debts.

So, Mu Qingge took a step back, not reaching out to take the candy from Qin Yilian’s hand, merely shaking her head lightly, ”I don’t like sweets, but thank you for your kindness, Princess.”

”Oh, I see! Well then.” Qin Yilian, understanding, did not insist, though she seemed a bit disappointed as she retracted the candy.

But the next second, as if nothing had happened, she beamed at Mu Qingge and said, ”During the time you weren’t here, big brother, Lianlian wasn’t idle either. I’ve learned lots of dances. Can I dance for you? I heard from my mother that you’re a wonderful dancer,”

”Perhaps another day.” Mu Qingge smiled gently, declining.

”Is big brother busy?” Qin Yilian’s shoulders immediately drooped, and her chubby face showed deep disappointment.

”Yes, indeed, I have some matters to attend to,” Mu Qingge followed her lead and replied.

”Alright, then, next time when you have time, come see Lianlian dance.” Even though she was disappointed, Qin Yilian still nodded obediently.

”Mm.” Mu Qingge casually responded.

Instantly, the sparkle returned to Qin Yilian’s large eyes. She extended her little finger, curling it up and putting it in front of Mu Qingge, acting spoiled, ”Pinky swear, or else you’ll forget again, big brother.”

Mu Qingge’s lips twitched, looking at the small finger in front of her, and then at Qin Yilian’s expectant face. Helpless, she could only extend her hand and gently hook it with hers.

As their fingers released, Qin Yilian joyfully said, ”Alright! With the pinky swear, big brother won’t lie to me anymore. Then I’ll go back first. You should get busy, and let me know when you’re free!”

After saying that, she waved to Mu Qingge, lifted her skirt, and ran towards the Imperial Palace.

Watching Qin Yilian leave, Mu Qingge was about to turn and leave when she suddenly heard a calm, unruffled voice say, ”Why did you reject Lianlian? She’s nothing like Changle, with such complex thoughts, vying for power alongside both her mother and brother. She likes you.”

Mu Qingge turned around calmly, meeting a pair of eyes as tranquil as still water, black and white distinct.

”Is Prince Xian praising himself?” Mu Qingge said lightly.

Qin Jinchen pressed his lips and nodded slightly, then turned to walk ahead, seemingly intending to escort Mu Qingge out of the palace.

Mu Qingge’s eyes flickered for a moment, and she followed, not refusing.

”Is there something wrong with Lianlian?” As they strolled side by side, as if wandering in the garden, Qin Jinchen suddenly asked.
