Mrs. Yue usually obeyed Yue Tingfeng, so she instinctively started up the stairs. However, she stopped after two steps, turned around, and said, “No, I can’t go up.”

She went through all that trouble to stop the little slut from getting it on with her son. If she leaves just like that, they would most definitely just pick up where they left off.

Yan Qingsi knew what she was thinking. She chuckled to herself, so it seems she was still that b*tch in everyone’s eyes. A bad omen that good proper parents would never want in their family.

Forcing a smile as if nothing had happened, Yan Qingsi asked, ” Aunty, are you afraid that I’m going to devour your son?”

Having people put up their defenses against her like that made her bitter, but it also made her smile much brighter.

Knowing Yan Qingsi could see through her, Mrs. Yue responded with a stammer, “Of course I’m worried when you’re together with my son. Tonight, you sleep with me.”

Leaving her in the guest room was too dangerous, who knows if they will get together again in the middle of the night.

Yue Tingfeng was screaming internally. If Mrs. Yue was not his mother, he swore he would have beat her up right there.

He was really tired. Being tortured by these two women in the middle of the night like that felt like the world was out to get him.

“Ok, so what do you want, Mum?”

Mrs. Yue pointed her chin in Yan Qingsi’s direction and said, “You… Come sleep with me.”

Yue Tingfeng cursed to himself.

So for the rest of the night, Yan Qingsi shared the bed with Mrs. Yue.

Mrs. Yue wanted to let her sleep on the couch, but she went straight to the bed and plopped right down on it. Mrs. Yue’s bed was very soft and comfortable. She must have had it out in the sun because it smelled of sunshine. It reminded her of her younger days when she would lie in the sheets that her mum put out in the sun. That warmth was so unforgettable that she could still reminisce it.

Suppressing the bitterness in her heart, Yan Qingsi flipped onto the bed, kicked off her slippers, and pulled the sheets over her, quipping, “If you don’t like to sleep with me, you can always sleep on the couch.”

Mrs. Yue huffed angrily, “I’m the senior here, you should respect me.”

“Senior? Sure.” Yan Qingsi stretched lazily. “I’ll respect you when you become my mother-in-law.”

“In your dreams. That day will never arrive.”

Yan Qingsi tutted, “Oh, why do you have to say that? I can be a very motivated person. I can always work my way into the Yue family just because of what you said, and nobody will be able to stop me. I haven’t seen any man who can stand up to my games just yet. So my word of advice, treat me nicely and don’t trigger me. You never know when you’ll get me super motivated to come into this family. If I get in, you’ll be the one who’s going to suffer.”

That shut Mrs. Yue right up. She just laid there seething in rage.

“Aunty, am I having bonding sessions in advance with my future mother-in-law?”

Yan Qingsi liked to tease Mrs. Yue because there was no pressure with her. She knew this old lady was actually very kind.

Mrs. Yue harrumphed. “Don’t think so highly of yourself. I will never recognize you as my daughter-in-law. Never. I’m only asking you to sleep with me because—”

Yan Qingsi cut her off. “I know. Because you’re afraid I’m going to seduce your son. Don’t worry, I won’t…”

That caught Mrs. Yue by surprise.

Yan Qingsi then fluttered her eyelids at her and added, “Because it’s always your son who is so clingy. His feelings for me… It’s hard to describe… Suffice to say, he can’t live without me.”
