I Am The Game's Villain

Chapter 880: Reunion With Levina

(Master, we will reach Redfield in five minutes.)

Edward slowly opened his eyes.

For several moments, he remained still.

Then he felt the hand resting against his abdomen.

He lowered his gaze.

Samara was sleeping beside him.

Her expression was peaceful, the tension that had filled her face earlier completely gone. Her dark hair spread across the pillow beneath her, and her breathing was slow and relaxed.

It had only been three hours.

Afterward, Edward had chosen to remain beside her rather than immediately leave for the deck. Samara had been exhausted after her first time, and she had fallen asleep far more quickly than he expected.

Edward’s gaze lingered on her for a moment.

Then, carefully, he lifted her hand from his abdomen and placed it gently beside her. He pulled the bedsheet higher over her body, making sure she was covered properly before rising from the bed.

Samara did not wake.

Edward opened his spatial ring and withdrew a fresh shirt.

He put it on quietly, buttoning it as he walked toward the door. Once he was dressed, he gave Samara one last glance before stepping outside and closing the cabin door behind him.

Redfield.

That was the island Alicia had given him the coordinates for.

It seemed that she and her family had chosen to rest there for the moment.

Edward did not know the full reason behind their choice. He only knew that Redfield was a popular destination among vampires, an island known for its nightlife, rich crimson architecture, expensive blood-wine establishments, and countless noble families who preferred the darker atmosphere of the lower islands.

As Edward stepped onto the open deck, a cold night breeze greeted him.

Edenis Raphiel possessed a unique charm at night.

During the day, its floating islands were bright, magnificent, and almost unreal beneath the sun. At night, however, the archipelago became something entirely different. The lights of cities shone in the distance like constellations suspended beneath the heavens, while the islands themselves drifted silently through the vast darkness of the sky.

Edward raised his gaze.

Above them, another island was moving slowly through the night.

Its underside was shadowed, immense enough to block part of the moonlight.

Lights shone from buildings built along its cliffs and high terraces, while enormous mechanisms hidden beneath the island guided it along its designated path.

That was Edenis Raphiel.

A floating archipelago.

The islands never remained completely still. They moved and shifted positions, changing their routes so they would not collide with one another and so every island could receive enough sunlight during the day.

Obviously, it was not equal.

With islands positioned above, below, and around one another, sunlight could not reach every place with the same intensity. The upper islands were considered more fortunate. They were closer to the sun, received warmer light, and possessed clearer skies.

The lower islands, meanwhile, lived beneath the shadows cast by those above them.

Yet that imbalance was part of what made Edenis Raphiel extraordinary.

Its mechanisms were unlike anything found in the kingdoms below. Enormous reflective structures, magical devices, and ancient formations redirected sunlight across the archipelago. Even the stone and ore used to build those structures were not ordinary materials.

Edward remembered Belle telling him about it once.

His mother had explained the wonders of Edenis Raphiel in far greater detail than he could remember now, how the islands moved, how their sunlight systems functioned, how each one was preserved in the sky through ancient magic and technology.

Most of it had faded from his memory.

But seeing the machinery at work with his own eyes remained fascinating.

Edward lowered his gaze toward the island approaching beneath them.

Redfield was already visible in the distance.

Even from the sky, the island seemed covered in crimson light.

Red lanterns hung from tall buildings and bridges. Deep red signs glowed along the streets.

Every island in Edenis Raphiel possessed its own identity.

Its own culture.

Its own atmosphere.

That was one reason Edenis Raphiel had become so famous across the world. A traveler could move from one island to another and feel as though they had entered an entirely different country each time.

People often said that the whole world could burn, kingdoms could collapse, and continents could disappear, but as long as Edenis Raphiel remained in the sky, civilization would survive and eventually rebuild.

Edward did not need to guess who had created that arrogant saying.

The people of Edenis Raphiel themselves.

Still, perhaps they were not entirely wrong.

Floating above the world, the island realm seemed far removed from the wars, conflicts, invasions, and disasters that repeatedly consumed the kingdoms below.

Even when chaos spread across the continent, Edenis Raphiel remained above it all, distant, untouchable, and secure.

”Are they already there?” Edward asked.

(No, Master. Princess Alicia told Master to meet her at the Crimson Table. It is a renowned restaurant not far from Redfield Skyport.)

Edward let out a quiet breath.

He could not even bring himself to be annoyed.

Instead, the corner of his lips lifted faintly.

Alicia could have simply told him that she wanted to eat with him and Levina.

It was not as though he would have refused.

”Stay here,” Edward said.

He left Jarvis aboard the airship and stepped down once the vessel reached the private platform of Redfield Skyport.

Edward did not waste time.

The moment he was away from the main platform, he rose into the air. His body lifted smoothly above the surrounding structures before he pulled his black hoodie coat over his shoulders and raised the hood over his silver hair.

The disguise was simple.

But it was enough.

He did not want to draw unnecessary attention during a private visit.

Through Jarvis’ directions, Edward quickly located the restaurant Alicia had mentioned. A small indicator appeared across his vision, guiding him through the night-lit streets of Redfield.

The Crimson Table was not far.

Edward moved through the air above the city, passing between towers, red-lit bridges, and rooftop gardens where vampire nobles gathered beneath dark canopies. Below him, the streets were alive despite the late hour. As expected of a place populated mainly by Vampires, nothing shocking.

As he neared the restaurant, Edward descended.

He landed directly in front of a vampire couple walking along the street.

The two froze.

The woman’s eyes widened as Edward appeared from above without warning, touching down only a few steps in front of them.

Her companion instinctively moved closer to her, his eyes fixed warily on the hooded man who had fallen from the sky as though gravity meant nothing to him.

Edward did not acknowledge their shock.

He simply adjusted the hood over his silver hair and walked toward the entrance of the Crimson Table.

The Crimson Table was exactly what Edward had expected.

Even from the outside, it was clear that the restaurant catered to the wealthiest vampires on Redfield. Its entrance was framed by black stone and deep crimson glass, while golden lamps cast warm light over the path leading inside. A line of richly dressed guests waited near the doors, most of them wearing elegant evening clothes, and expensive jewelry.

It was definitely a vampire establishment.

The atmosphere was refined, dark, and luxurious.

Edward stepped inside.

The interior was even more extravagant.

Soft music played somewhere in the distance, quiet enough not to disturb private conversations. Vampires occupied tables beneath red chandeliers, attended by staff dressed in neat black uniforms. The air carried the scent of expensive food, sweet wine, and something faintly metallic that Edward assumed was meant to appeal to vampire tastes.

A waitress appeared immediately.

”Welcome to the Crimson—”

Her greeting stopped halfway.

The woman had caught sight of Edward’s face beneath his hood.

For a second, she simply stared.

Even with most of his silver hair hidden, Edward’s features were hard to ignore. His pale complexion, sharp face, and silver eyes gave him a presence that did not fit the image of an ordinary guest.

Edward’s gaze moved across the restaurant before falling on her.

”Alicia Raven,” he said. ”Is she here?”

The waitress seemed to recover from her surprise.

”Oh, yes.”

Her eyes brightened slightly.

”Her Highness informed us that someone would be joining her. You must be her fiancé?”

”Fiancé,” Edward repeated.

He considered the word for only a moment.

”Something like that.”

The waitress smiled.

Then she motioned for him to follow.

”Please come with me, sir.”

She led Edward through the main dining hall and toward a private staircase at the back of the restaurant. The upper floor was more secluded, reserved for noble families, influential guests, and people who preferred not to be observed while they ate.

Edward followed her without speaking.

At the top of the stairs, they entered a quieter corridor lined with dark red walls and golden lamps. Several private rooms stood along either side, each door marked with elegant silver symbols.

The waitress finally stopped in front of one of them.

”This is the room reserved by Her Highness,” she said.

Then she bowed slightly and left without another word.

Edward looked at the door.

He reached out and pushed it open.

The room inside was spacious and square-shaped, designed for privacy rather than ceremony. Low lamps cast a warm golden light over the dark wooden walls, and wide cushioned benches surrounded a large table prepared with expensive dishes and neatly arranged silverware.

But Edward barely noticed the room itself.

His attention immediately fell on the two girls seated on the bench across from the entrance.

They looked enough alike that, at first glance, they could have passed for sisters.

The older one was Alicia.

She had grown into an exceptionally beautiful woman.

Her long golden-blond hair had been tied gracefully behind her, exposing the elegant shape of her neck and shoulders. Her crimson eyes were the same as Edward remembered, yet they no longer held the immaturity of the girl he had known before.

Even the last time he had seen her, Alicia had already seemed different.

More mature.

More composed.

But now, sitting in front of him beneath the soft restaurant lights, she appeared changed once again. There was real confidence in the way she held herself, a calmness in her expression that made her seem more like a princess than ever before.

She looked at Edward for several long seconds.

Then she spoke.

”Senior.”

Edward’s gaze shifted toward the girl sitting beside her.

Levina.

Her golden-blond hair was tied into a ponytail, and her blue eyes were wide as she looked at him. But Edward could see the faint crimson beginning to bleed into them.

Whenever Levina was emotionally affected or found herself in an unusual situation, her vampire traits showed themselves almost immediately.

She rose slowly from the bench.

At first, she looked stunned.

Then nervous.

Almost afraid.

”Vina,” Edward called.

Levina shivered faintly.

She looked away.

His voice was different now.

Colder.

Less gentle than the voice she remembered from the past.

Yet even so, she could recognize it.

There was familiarity in it.

Something that reached past the changes in his face, body, eyes, and presence.

”Levina.”

When Edward called her a second time, she raised her teary gaze.

Then she rushed toward him.

She crossed the room quickly and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly around the back. Her body trembled as she pressed herself against him, as though she still feared that he might vanish the moment she let go.

Edward looked down at her.

Levina was crying quietly.

Her shoulders shook against him.

”I-I thought...” Her voice broke. ”I thought I would never see you again...”

Edward’s expression softened.

He raised a hand and gently patted her hair.

”I am sorry,” he said.

Then, after a brief pause, he asked, ”Do you resent me?”

Levina immediately shook her head.

She looked up at him with a small smile that remained fragile through her tears.

”No. I am only happy that you are here. And that you are fine.”

”You should resent him, Vina.”

Alicia’s voice came from behind them.

Edward looked toward her.

Alicia’s crimson eyes were fixed on him with a cold gaze.

”He ignored you for two years,” she said.

”No,” Levina replied quickly.

She turned back toward Edward.

”He came to see me. I remember.”

”You were asleep back then,” Edward said.

”But I remember.”

Levina’s voice became softer.

She remembered him sitting beside her while she slept.

She remembered the warmth of his hand gently stroking her hair, even if she had not been awake enough to open her eyes. Somewhere within the long darkness of her slumber, she had sensed him near her.

Then Levina lowered her gaze.

”I know you have been occupied,” she said. ”And I do not want to bother you, Father.”

Her lips trembled.

”Can I call you that?”

Before she could say anything more, Edward reached out.

He gently cupped both of her cheeks and lifted her face so she had no choice but to meet his eyes.

Levina stared into his silver gaze.

They were different from the warm amber eyes she remembered.

Colder.

Yet, in that moment, they seemed so brilliant to her.

”You waited five hundred years for me, Vina,” Edward said. ”You can bother me whenever you want.”

Levina’s lips quivered.

”And of course you can call me Father,” Edward added.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

Tears streamed down Levina’s cheeks again.

Then she hugged him once more.

This time, Edward wrapped both arms around her and held her close.

Alicia watched them silently.

A faint smile curled her lips.
