I Beat Up Npcs in a Bizarre World

86: Chapter 86: The Festival of Sacrifice (Part 31)Who knows where they were taking them!

Qian Ye just held her umbrella and followed them, not saying a word the entire way.

Whatever she was asked, she just replied with an ”mm,” maintaining her cold and aloof persona.

”My lords, we are taking you to the place of the Sacrificial Festival now.”

The two led the way, with Qian Ye and the other two following behind, completely oblivious to the upturned corners of their mouths.

Their eyes were filled with malice.

Tai You watched the two in front. They were both hunched over. Ever since he saw them, he noticed how they were always stooped and hunched.

Watching their movements, he always felt something was off.

It wasn’t until he saw the footprints on the ground that he realized exactly what was weird.

Although the two people didn’t look that tall, the footprints on the ground were incredibly deep.

They looked like footprints that only a very heavy person could make.

This discovery made him stay alert.

He quietly moved to Meng Yu’s side and told her the news.

While they whispered behind, Qian Ye followed the two in front with a straight face.

After passing through the woods, a mountain range stood before them.

It was uneven, with high and low peaks rising and falling.

”My lords, our Sacrificial Festival site is just ahead.”

Qian Ye nodded.

Seeing that Qian Ye was going to continue climbing up, Tai You felt a bit worried.

After his discovery in the woods, he no longer trusted them.

However, looking at Qian Ye’s serious demeanor, she really seemed to trust them.

Then, remembering her combat prowess, Tai You instantly decided not to say anything more.

Perhaps they could even find clues related to the treasure.

He didn’t know how long they had been climbing, and they even crossed two rivers, before finally hearing the two say, ”We’ve arrived.”

Before them was yet another cave.

Tai You subconsciously resisted.

He was developing a physiological reaction; whenever he saw a cave, he thought of the inside of that insect.

”We have to go inside?”

Tai You’s sudden question made the two shift their gazes onto him.

The two stared at him with smiles, ”Of course.”

Tai You felt guilty under their gaze and subconsciously lowered his head, unaware that this scene had fallen into their eyes.

The smiles in their eyes deepened.

”My lords, please.”

Qian Ye kept a straight face and walked inside without a hint of suspicion.

After crossing the entrance of the cave, they realized it was truly huge inside.

It was just empty and barren, with nothing there.

Let alone a sacrificial ceremony, there wasn’t even a person to be seen.

”Are you sure it’s here?”

The two behind them saw this, their faces full of eerie smiles.

”Yes, why wouldn’t it be?”

”Once the offerings are in place, the Sacrificial Festival can begin.”

As they spoke, their hunched bodies slowly straightened up. Tai You’s gaze followed their movement upward until he couldn’t tilt his neck any further.

...

Holy crap, looking at the three-meter-tall hulking men before him, Tai You wanted to curse.

The two in front were no hunched old men; they instantly transformed into three-meter-tall giants with black patterns appearing on their faces, and when they opened their mouths, they were filled with sharp teeth.

At this moment, they looked more like three giant monsters.

Dammit, they’d run into this again.

”Hehehe... Be good and become our offerings!”

They reached out to grab them.

At this moment, Qian Ye and the other two looked like three little chicks in front of them, easily captured.

”Damn it, this is deadly!”

”Why is everything some giant thing?”

Tai You complained while dodging.

The exit was completely blocked by them, and every time he thought about running out, those big hands would sweep over.

Forcing them to hide deeper inside.

Tai You looked at Qian Ye’s movements and felt a bit strange.

Why did he get the feeling she was somewhat distracted?

It seemed like she was looking for something.

What could she be looking for here?

Qian Ye’s gaze was constantly surveying the surroundings. Her whole attitude was lazy, not attacking at all, just dodging nonchalantly.

Suddenly, her gaze paused inside, and the corners of her mouth suddenly lifted into a smile, ”Ooh, found it!”

The next instant, her eyes became sharp. Looking at the two who were several times taller than her, she smiled exceptionally brightly, a flash of red light passing through her eyes.

”Hehehe, to thank you for bringing me here, hmm, I’ll grant you a painless death!”

As her voice fell, Qian Ye retracted the red singer, revealing the sharp tip of the umbrella. With a light smile on her lips, she stared at their figures and rushed straight at them.

In an instant, only her afterimages remained on the field. Then, landing behind them, ”Bang!”

”Bang!” With two loud thuds, the two giants collapsed directly.

”Hehehe, done! Now I’m going to find my darling boyfriend~”

Qian Ye hummed a cheerful tune and walked slowly toward the back of the cave.

”Nana na, I won’t play with you anymore!”

”Hehehe, darling boyfriend, I’m coming!”

As she spoke, she fluttered about like a colorful butterfly.

”Hey?”

”Wait...”

Tai You wanted to follow inside too, but was grabbed tightly by the waistband of his pants by Meng Yu.

”Hey hey hey, let go! Let go!”

Tai You’s face turned red, and he glared at her, ”Are you being polite?”

Meng Yu calmly wiped her tears and rolled her eyes at him.

”Aren’t we following her?”

”What if there’s some danger?”

As soon as these words came out, Meng Yu’s eyes became subtle, ”Who is actually in danger, you or her?”

”...”

”But...”

”But what? Didn’t you hear what she’s going to do?”

Meng Yu looked at him like he was an idiot. With her explosive temper, she reached up and grabbed his ear.

”Did you not hear it?”

”She wants to spend some sweet time as a couple...”

”Of course, I don’t know if her partner is even human...”

”In short, she said she won’t be accompanying us anymore.”

”Understand?”

Tai You nodded.

The next second, he grimaced with a bitter expression, ”She’s prioritizing romance over loyalty!”

”She actually abandoned us.”

”What if we run into...”

Tai You stared blankly at the two corpses on the ground.

”Tai You!”

Meng Yu suddenly stiffened her face and stared at him with sharp eyes.

”Have you gotten used to relying on her recently!”

Tai You froze, lowered his head guiltily, ”I, I didn’t...”

”Heh, have you forgotten the most basic rules of that place?”

Tai You’s eyes sharpened.

”No!”

”Do not trust anyone in the game, including players.”

”Do not rely on anyone, even if they are your family.”

”Do not show unnecessary emotions.”

”...”

Tai You recited them one by one.

Meng Yu’s expression was serious.

”Since you remember them all, why do you still commit such a taboo?”

These words made him feel very ashamed. That’s right, he had subconsciously trusted someone else.

”I know I was wrong.”

He had been relying on Su Ye for the past few days, and he had developed a habit without even realizing it.

Now that Meng Yu had woken him up, he felt a chill down his spine.

”Since you’ve sobered up, let’s go.”

”Don’t forget our conditions for clearing the level.”

Tai You nodded.

That’s right, this game was originally a strange world. Today he had easily trusted someone else, but what if tomorrow that person was no longer that person?

In this game, anything can happen.

In this game, the only one you can trust is yourself.

Perhaps, you can’t even trust yourself.
