I Beat Up Npcs in a Bizarre World

5: Chapter 5: Angel Campus (Part 5)Qian Ye walked out of the dormitory door and looked up at the sky. Black mist churned, visible to the naked eye, and the atmosphere was oppressive.

In front of her, several dark shadows bared their fangs and brandished their claws.

”Hee hee hee, Big Sister, play with us~”

”Come play with us~”

The black mist quietly spread to Qian Ye’s feet, trying to encircle her bit by bit, thinking its small movements hadn’t been noticed.

Qian Ye lifted her eyes, took out her little red umbrella, and tapped it heavily on the ground; the black mist was shaken into dissipation.

”Hee hee hee, alright then, Big Sister loves playing with others the most~”

Qian Ye mimicked their tone, shouldered her hong ling umbrella, and charged into the black mist.

Mo Lan came out just in time to see Qian Ye being swallowed by the black mist and was terrified.

The next second, she saw the red umbrella dancing continuously, and the dark shadows became scattered and chaotic.

For a moment, her expression was complicated. They were both humans, so why was there such a huge gap?

A flash of envy passed through her eyes.

Because someone was playing with them, the little cutie Mo Lan was forgotten on the side. Then, she witnessed a scene like a high-level player accidentally entering a novice village, giving off the visual sense of ’one punch per child’.

What should she do then? Cheer for the big boss?

”Big boss, go for it! Go for it!” As soon as Mo Lan opened her mouth, she instantly became the center of focus.

Within her line of sight, the dark shadows instantly shifted targets and rushed toward Mo Lan; this human looked much easier to bully.

Mo Lan’s eyes widened, and her mouth hung open in fear. She didn’t move, watching helplessly as the dark shadows got closer and closer to her.

???

Qian Ye, who was fighting with great enjoyment, looked confused. Where were the ghosts? Where did they run off to?

She turned around and saw a certain someone wrapped from head to toe by dark shadows, nearly suffocating.

”Cough, cough, cough... Help, help... Big boss... save...”

Qian Ye’s hand paused. Oh, it was because of those two shouts she just made. Tilting her head to watch the scene, she took two steps forward. The dark shadows instinctively retreated, and Mo Lan, inside the shadows, was forced to move back as well.

Qian Ye looked down at her feet, which were stained with some black marks. She frowned, and the aura around her became dangerous.

”These are my favorite shoes,” she seemed to mutter to herself, yet her eyes were fixed deathly on the dark shadows before her. With a few strides, she approached them.

In just a few moments, the black mist was beaten into a steady retreat.

Losing the control of the black mist, Mo Lan suddenly fell to the ground, gasping for air. She... she had almost died.

”Wuwu, thank you, big boss.” Mo Lan sat on the ground, constantly wiping away tears. She didn’t want to cry, but she couldn’t help it.

The next second, before she could react, she was grabbed by Qian Ye and tossed aside.

”Big...” Right where she had been sitting, an axe slammed down.

”Oh my, what a pity.”

A chill ran down Mo Lan’s spine. If—if it hadn’t been for the big boss’s move just now, would she still be alive?

”Qianqian, I hate you! Why are you helping this woman!” The person who appeared was none other than Liu Xia.

At this moment, she didn’t have a hint of her previous cute and dazed look. She was covered in black mist, her face was a mix of blue and purple, and black veins covered her entire body. She stared at Qian Ye with a hideous expression, showing extreme dissatisfaction with her act of saving Mo Lan.

Since you want to save her, then go to hell together.

Qian Ye lowered her head and looked at her small leather shoes. Ugh, this is really annoying; I don’t even have time to change shoes.

Seeing that Qian Ye was ignoring her, Liu Xia turned her head and focused her gaze on Mo Lan.

”It’s you. You have no manners at all and even tried to steal my bed.”

Mo Lan looked at her, her face pale. Suddenly, the scene where the big boss had warned her flashed in her mind, and her expression changed drastically.

”What—what are you talking about?”

Liu Xia bent down to pull out the axe and smiled eerily. ”You should be like those people and stay in the dormitory forever.”

Having said that, she swung the axe and ran toward Mo Lan.

”Ah!” It was right before her eyes. Mo Lan had nowhere to hide and instinctively closed her eyes, her face pale. This time, she was really done for.

Only now did she realize that the big boss had already saved her life once back in the dormitory. At that time, she...

Thinking of her own attitude, her heart felt heavy with regret for a moment.

After a long while—eh? She was still breathing. She opened her eyes. ”Ah, I’m still alive.”

”No, you’re already dead.” Qian Ye, standing to the side, had a wicked smile on her lips.

Mo Lan looked left and right, but everything was gone.

”That—that thing just now...” She turned her head to look at the impatient big boss and instantly became as quiet as a mouse.

It’s good to be alive, it’s good to be alive. Don’t ask anything else, don’t ask.

Qian Ye had no interest in paying her any more attention. She glanced at the sky. Hmm, the night is just right, suitable for a stroll.

Mo Lan watched as the big boss disappeared into the night. She didn’t dare follow, so she honestly returned to the dormitory and closed the door. This time, she didn’t dare fall asleep at all.

—

Without knowing when, the sky had already brightened. Qian Ye appeared at the dormitory door holding a flower pot.

Mo Lan looked at the big boss at the door with a dazed expression. She—she had actually been out all night!

Her gaze focused on what was in her hands. A flower pot?

It looked like something was planted inside. A flower?

However, Mo Lan didn’t dare ask. She watched helplessly as she carried the flower pot into the dormitory and solemnly placed it by the bed.

”Be good now, you have to grow up well.”

Qian Ye offered some comfort before leaving the dormitory.

At the stairwell, Qian Ye observed the stairs, searching everywhere. Early in the morning, she had carefully counted them again, and there were exactly seven floors. Where exactly was that missing floor?

The first thing Tai Feng did in the morning was look for Qian Ye. He had a hunch that following her would lead to opportunities.

”Big boss?”

Qian Ye raised an eyebrow. From last night until now, why did every single person call her that?

—

Downstairs, when Qian Ye and Tai Feng appeared, they saw the other players were also looking for Qian Ye. Seeing that their numbers had decreased by two, the rest of the group was silent.

Two girls huddled closely together, their entire bodies exuding a low, depressed aura.

When Mo Lan saw Qian Ye appear, her eyes lit up. She hesitated for a long time, not daring to strike up a conversation with her.

”I hope we can work together to clear the levels from now on.” One of the young men stepped forward.

Looking at the heavy atmosphere around them, he decided to say a few words.

Qian Ye looked up at the sky; it was still a hazy expanse, only the black mist from the night had turned into white fog.

Ignoring them, Qian Ye opened her umbrella and walked forward with elegant steps. If one ignored the background here, her silhouette looked like a little princess from a royal court out for a stroll.

Tai Feng also followed closely behind.

Mo Lan looked at the people remaining, then at the two in front. She gritted her teeth and followed; it was safer to follow the big boss.

The two girls in the back looked at each other, not knowing what had happened. In just one night, why did Mo Lan—who clearly seemed to dislike other girls the most—voluntarily join them?

However, they currently trusted the boy in front of them more.

”Wha—what do we do now?” one of the female players whispered, staring at the boy.

The young men nearby looked at each other. Currently, they hadn’t obtained any useful clues, so they might as well follow them for now.

Qian Ye held her hong ling umbrella and strolled leisurely. The group behind her was following so closely they were getting irritable, until finally, a teaching building appeared in their sight.

”Mm, we’ve arrived.” A low murmur.
