Reborn As Noble

One of the squad leaders, dropped his sword and pulled a rag from his satchel. He tied it to the end of his spear and held it high above his head, trembling.

”We surrender!!”

The others followed.

Dozens more threw down their swords, axes, and wands. Some raised their hands. Others fell to their knees, shouting for mercy.

Two of the special operation units had their mana rifles lock on the groups, steady, silent, waiting for any sign of resistance. Fingers hovering near the trigger.

But they didn’t fire.

Their targeting lenses scanned the group, identifying the surrender protocol. One of the units raised its fist—a silent signal. The rest of the special ops moved in swiftly, weapons still raised but unfired, forming a perimeter around the disarmed troops.

One by one, the soldiers of the Human Kingdom dropped to their knees, heads lowered, weapons scattered like trash across the trampled earth.

The Armand advance stopped.

No more screaming.

No more resistance.

Just silence... and the whir of hovering drones above.

The battle had ended in under an hour.

Not a skirmish.

A one-sided slaughter.

Javier, now mounted atop his Pekko, moved forward at a slow, steady pace. Each hoofstep echoed softly through the blood-soaked ground.

At his left, Liana walked in silence, her eyes scanning the battlefield. Gloria mirrored her on the right, her expression calm, but her gaze sharp.

More than fifty special operation puppet units surrounded them, moving with synchronized precision. Rifles raised, fingers steady on the trigger, each one scanning the area for any potential ambush or last-ditch attack.

Their formation was tight, professional, nothing about them resembled traditional warfare.

They were escorting their master.

The wind carried the scent of smoke, scorched metal, and blood.

The human soldiers who resisted lay scattered across the field. Some torn apart by mana fire. Others reduced to charred remains. The lucky ones had surrendered early.

Javier didn’t look at the corpses.

He wasn’t here for the dead.

His gaze moved past them—toward the captured soldiers now kneeling in a long line, hands behind their heads, stripped of weapons and armor.

Silent.

Eyes lowered.

Trembling.

Javier said nothing as he passed by them. His eyes were cold, unreadable. The captured soldiers didn’t dare raise their heads.

Some had seen what his creations could do.

Others had simply heard.

But now... they understood.

This wasn’t just a young noble playing soldier.

This was the battlefield commander of the Armand Region.

A magician of war.

And they had survived only because he allowed it.

”Who’s in charge here?” Javier asked, his voice calm.

No one answered.

Just silence.

The sound of mana rifles humming in standby filled the air.

Javier raised his hand and made a small gesture.

One of the special operation puppets responded instantly, raising its mana rifle and firing a single shot into the air. The loud burst echoed sharply across the broken battlefield.

The soldiers flinched.

Some fell to their knees, trembling.

Javier’s voice came again, firmer.

”I’ll ask one more time. Who is in charge here?”

A soldier, barely able to steady his voice, stepped forward. ”O-our captain... the one in command of this border...” He swallowed. ”H-he ran... after the wall fell.”

”I see,” Javier said coldly. ”So who’s left?”

Another man, a younger one with dirt and blood on his face, slowly raised his hand. ”I... I am, sir. Senior Sergeant... I was second-in-command.”

”Good,” Javier replied, his eyes narrowing. ”Then you’re responsible now.”

The soldier froze.

”Bring them all,” Javier ordered. ”Line up every last surrendered unit in the open field. Disarm them. Separate wounded from fit. I want a full count of heads. No one leaves, no one hides.”

The special operation units moved the moment the words were spoken.

Professional. Silent. Efficient.

Javier remained seated on Buddy, his eyes watching every movement without blinking.

Without a word, he activated his tracking magic.

His iris briefly flickering with a faint glow as magic pulses scanned the surroundings. A silent map formed in his mind, marking the mana residue trails, pressure patterns, and recent movement signatures.

He nodded once.

No panic. Just clarity.

He gently nudged Buddy forward. The orange Pekko marched with firm, confident steps, while Liana and Gloria followed closely behind, each atop their own mounts. Their expressions calm—but alert.

Before them stood a massive enemy war camp, the tents still bearing the insignia of the Human Kingdom’s border force. Javier brought Buddy to a halt a few meters from the entrance.

He raised his left hand slightly.

Two of the special operation units moved in, rifles raised, sweeping their path as they breached the outer perimeter.

Then..

Boom!!

An explosion rocked the camp entrance. Dust and smoke erupted outward in a sudden plume. Gloria instinctively reached for her blade, and Liana’s hand lit with defensive mana shield, but neither moved.

Javier didn’t flinch.

He let out a small sigh, leaning slightly to the side as if bored.

A few seconds passed before the two special operation units emerged from the smoke, walking calmly and unharmed. Their armor had minor scorch marks, but not a single system was compromised.

The camp’s trap had failed.

Javier gave a small smile.

”Good job triggering the trap,”

The remaining puppet units began to spread out around the camp perimeter, checking for more surprises.

Liana looked over. ”Young master...”

”They tried to kill me even after surrendering,” Javier said quietly. ”Looks like some of them didn’t get the message.”

He looked ahead, toward the deeper part of the camp.

”Let’s finish cleaning up.”

Javier tapped his magic glasses.

The aerial drone hovering steadily above the camp, zoomed its lens toward a suspicious mound near the center tent. The image sharpened. Mana readings spiked.

Javier’s expression darkened.

”Trap confirmed.”

Without hesitation, the drone adjusted position, rotating midair and unleashed a precise burst of mana shots. The rapid-fire blast hit the concealed section with surgical precision.

The impact caused a chain reaction underground, several hidden glyphs exploded in a controlled blast, sending dirt and torn canvas flying into the air.

Javier didn’t flinch.

He raised his hand and gave a sharp signal.

”Five fighters per group. Spread out. Clear the whole camp.”

The special forces units instantly moved.

Five-person squads broke formation and rushed into the camp from different directions. Each team moved smoothly and precisely, two went ahead, one in the middle, and two to the back. They kept their mana rifles steady, eyes focused, staying close in formation.

Liana narrowed her eyes, watching how they moved.

”...Looks like they’ve been trained for war their whole lives.”

”They have,” Javier replied quietly. ”Because I made them that way.”
