The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL]

But such was the lot of those in love.

Rahil may have already felt suffocated as he watched his master forget all about stealing glances and ended up unabashedly staring, but overall, he should consider himself fortunate, as he could have been privy to even worse sights.

Without even touching on the societal impacts of the love tokens, those who had always been insane in showing their affections were still as insane as ever.

Like one Imperial Prince who not only relayed instructions to improve the current exploration suits for underwater use, but also asked for small water vessels for sea exploration.

Of course, such a thing caused momentary panic, especially after realizing that the deadline was tighter than tight. They simply didn’t expect the Imperials to be interested in water exploration once again, considering how that field had long since been abandoned.

Moreover, the scientists, particularly the technological innovators, were puzzled because they had been told not to account for defense against contamination when preparing such devices.

”???”

Had the hidden prince finally lost his marbles?

Who knows?

But they did it anyway, as who wouldn’t be interested in sponsored what-ifs?

And while it was partially true that the Imperial Crown Prince had long lost his marbles, it was actually because he’d given them away to one little chipmunk who lit up like a massive light bulb after being told that they were definitely going to visit the place he wanted to see.

It was basically Luca’s carrot, as he not only wilted and panicked at the thought of their expo booth being short-staffed because he had woken up late, but also because he realized he wouldn’t be able to go visit that place right away.

He kept sighing at the sudden realization that he needed to practice delayed gratification today, even when what he really wanted was to check out the possibility of pearls existing!

But the cognitive dissonance and moral dilemma didn’t last long as one Imperial Prince whispered words of love in the tune of manned submersibles, remotely operated vehicles, and underwater drones.

It was easy to imagine the kind of joy such a move gave to one Luca Kyros.

It was such a moment that the suddenly chipper wife returned such a gesture with a satisfying and very public powersmooch before excitedly returning to work.

The earlier they left for work, the earlier they could return to exploration! It was flawed reasoning, but only those who didn’t value their lives would contradict such a confident declaration, especially when the earlier annoyed Prince’s glares could literally freeze a person. Permanently.

But unfortunately, all such displays unfolded before the eyes of one father who had been beaten to the punch by his own son-in-law.

”...”

”!!!”

Just imagine, Rahil could have witnessed that. Or he could have witnessed the moment Oliver Mylor arrived together with Luca and Xavier, only to nearly faint because his current workplace area, which was the arcade redemption booth, was littered with several arrangements of edible snack bouquets.

Predicting that his little star may have lost a lot of calories worrying about his sworn brother, the responsible handler and adjutant understandably decided to prepare tokens particularly intended for his mop’s stomach.

As many would predict, the gesture was so well-received that the little barnacle came alive despite looking all too frazzled just moments ago.

Thankfully, the display of thanks happened behind the counter, where one Ollie Mylor decided to eat a flower roll-up with his boyfriend. One mouth on the other end, and Ollie’s on the other.

See? Rahil, the single dog, could have witnessed such a thing instead.

Then again, he could have instead been privy to Sam’s insistence on checking for his preferences and orientation.

While no one would blink at even interspecies relationships, much less relationships with any and all genders, Sam had always been the type of guy who personified ancient peacocks in his own way.

When he was much younger, he normally went for daintier ones. As someone who thought himself to be rather gruff, he had long hoped to get a partner who would think he was rather cool, but also complement his lifestyle.

Never had he really gone for someone on the totally opposite spectrum!

He’d never even kissed a man before!

So, imagine the first one being the guy who was most definitely in the off-limits category just below innocents, relatives, taken people, uninterested people, and criminals.

Marco was his best buddy, for gods’ sake!

Therefore, when the said guy managed to get into the room because Sam had given the awfully responsible guy a key to wake him up as usual, Sam could only react in surprise.

Like him being able to enter wasn’t his fault at all.

Crazy! Crazy! Crazy!

But what was even crazier was how, in the heat of the moment, he just blurted out that he was just curious. It was some sort of a test for him.

Sam thought the excuse worked; in fact, he assumed he did both of them a great service by letting the moment pass.

But instead of letting it go, Marco actually said, ”So what were your findings?”

Heavens.

Poor Sam was so caught off guard that he slipped and had to be rescued from kissing the floor instead.

Findings? What conclusion could he possibly come to when he was more confused than ever?

But as if able to read minds, Marco, who could tell what Sam was thinking before he even processed it just by looking at his face, of course, knew what to do.

”If you haven’t come to a conclusion, then that just means you didn’t finish your experiment.”

”Huh?”

Sam should have stopped at ”huh”. But as one could expect, he didn’t.

Instead, he fell into the trap of testing it out again to get a legitimate conclusion.

But what could be done when the breathless first kiss had Marco claiming in hushed whispers that such was just the control required by proper experiments?

Well, of course, it meant locking lips again.

It meant pressing against the back of the door, then against the wall for alleged better support.

Eyes dazed and mouth extremely pliant, Sam agreed to all the experimental trials.

He agreed when Marco hoisted him up, legs wrapping around the taller man’s waist.

More importantly, when it came down to it, Sam initiated his own experimental trial. And Marco agreed to fully verify if Sam could do more than just kiss his best friend.

Really, Rahil could have witnessed all of those, but because fate was maybe compensating for his wrongful imprisonment, he had only been a witness to his own master’s affairs.

At least in this case, he could still have a chance to poke a little fun at his boss, especially once he’d been asked to stay behind for a check-up.
