Ascension Online: My Beasts Evolve infinitely

The dual roar tore through the cavern, two fan-shaped waves of warped void-light rolling out to swallow the leading edge of the falling swarm.

Bloodfang Bats screamed as the distortion tore through them, health bars collapsing in unison.

Kael kept Thunder Roc grounded rather than letting it tangle with the swarm directly, tucking it behind the twin bulk of both Void Leviathans instead repositioned as a ranged striker rather than a target.

Its wings snapped wide, and a single word rolled through the cavern like distant thunder.

Thunderfall.

Blue lightning ripped down out of nothing, stitching together into a churning field that blanketed a wide stretch of the swarm.

Every bat caught inside it convulsed under the continuous current, health draining in a steady, merciless trickle.

Wraithlord charged out on his skeletal mount a heartbeat later, spear angled skyward, and a crimson beam of raw force punched clean through a line of bats in a single pass.

Between the lightning and the spear, five or six more dropped in quick succession, silver and copper spilling loose across the cavern floor with each kill.

But for every handful that fell, dozens more pressed in behind them.

Claws like hooks raked across both Leviathans’ flanks in a relentless wave, and even with their dual-resistance passive doing exactly what it was built to do, the sheer weight of numbers found gaps the defense couldn’t fully close.

Damage ticked away steadily, health bars sliding down in a slow, grinding bleed rather than any single dramatic hit.

Good thing the Leviathans carried a pool north of a hundred thousand HP apiece.

Between that cushion, Abyssal Hunger’s built-in lifesteal chewing straight back into the total with every kill, and Kael working every support skill he had from behind the line, the numbers stayed manageable for now.

Slap. Slap. Slap.

Kael cracked the Wyrmscale Serpentlash across each companion in turn, triggering the weapon’s buff effect, then layered his shield and healing rotation on top without breaking rhythm.

Thunder Roc, Wraithlord, and all eight of the summoned bone archers worked from cover behind the twin wall of muscle, pouring everything they had into the swarm without ever exposing themselves directly.

Bat after bat dropped, corpses piling across the cavern floor. But the swarm’s numbers didn’t thin fast enough to matter, and the pressure kept climbing.

The Spectral Aspect clone running at only seventy percent of the original’s stats, and receiving none of Kael’s healing or shielding, which stayed locked onto the real Leviathan bled out fast under that math.

Four minutes in, its health bar had cratered to a bare tenth of its pool, and the situation tipped from manageable into genuinely dangerous.

Kael’s expression hardened. No hesitation.

He sent Wraithlord and Thunder Roc surging out past the line, both of them tearing into the open swarm, pulling a heavy share of aggro off the failing clone and buying it the breathing room to hold a few seconds longer.

It wasn’t quite enough. The clone finally gave out with a final, shuddering roar, its body dissolving into scattered motes of light right as Spectral Aspect’s cooldown ticked back to zero.

Kael didn’t waste the opening. A fresh clone snapped into existence at full health, immediately filling the gap the first one had left, roaring its own challenge at the bats still crowding the entrance.

Thunder Roc and Wraithlord, both worn down past the halfway mark from their exposed charge, got called straight back the instant the new wall was in place.

Round after round, Kael cycled his companions through the same rotation one Leviathan holding the choke point while the others rotated out to recover, every piece of the formation swapping in and out with the kind of precision that came from having run this exact math a hundred times before, in a life nobody else remembered but him.

Bats kept falling. Experience and Evolution Points climbed in a steady, satisfying flood, and somewhere in the grinding rhythm of it, Kael let himself enjoy the fight for exactly what it was clean, controlled, entirely in hand.

Elsewhere, in the world that actually mattered to the rest of humanity, the shockwaves from the merge kept spreading.

Most players were still too low-level for any of it to matter yet barely scraping together enough gold for potions and repairs, let alone anything worth extracting into reality. For now, that kept the wider world stable.

No mass panic, no total collapse of order. Just an undercurrent of tension everyone could feel and nobody quite knew what to do with.

A handful of uninvited guests arrived at Kael’s old residence while all of this was happening, and found the door locked against a long, unanswered stream of knocking.

At the front of the group stood a composed, immaculately dressed man in his fifties Damian Sterling, one of the primary financial backers standing behind Ironclad Esports.

Men like Sterling didn’t usually involve themselves in day-to-day club operations.

But with Cynthia Miles and Ryan Tanner both confirmed dead in the merge’s opening hours, Ironclad had been left without leadership at the exact moment it could least afford one, and

Sterling had stepped in personally rather than watch the whole organization drift.

His first move, once the reins were in his hands, was simple.

bring back the one player everyone still agreed was the best melee talent the server had ever produced.

He’d come in person, with the club’s strongest remaining roster in tow, expecting the conversation to go smoothly.

Instead, silence. No answer at the door, no sign of movement inside.

Sterling’s patience thinned fast. He gave the order, and his men broke the door down.

The house inside sat completely empty no trace of Kael anywhere, nothing to suggest where he’d gone. Sterling’s expression darkened by the second.

Someone in the group finally spoke up. ”Didn’t he used to see someone a streamer? Might be worth checking there first.”

”BabyAsh, right?” another added. ”Word is he was completely wrapped around her finger back when they were together.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he went looking for her today, ex or not today’s the kind of day people go looking for whoever they trust.”

Sterling considered that, then turned to the sharp-eyed man standing quietly at his shoulder Ironclad’s chief assassin, Julian Vale and gave the order in a low, even voice.

”Find out where that streamer lives. Go tonight. See if he’s with her.”

”Best outcome, he’s there and we settle this face to face.” His eyes went cold. ”If he isn’t bring her in instead. That’ll bring him to us on his own.”

”One way or another, I want eyes on Kael Mercer within twenty-four hours.”

He turned toward the window, gaze fixed somewhere past the city skyline, voice dropping lower.

”The world’s about to reshape itself around whichever guilds move fastest. A player with his numbers either fights under my banner”

”or he becomes someone else’s weapon, aimed straight at me.”

”I won’t allow that. Not while I still have a say in it.”

Behind him, nobody in the room said a word. Julian Vale simply inclined his head and turned for the door, already pulling up a contact list on his way out.

Whatever Sterling wanted found tonight, it would be found that much had never been in question. The only real question left was what shape the conversation took once it happened.
