God-Tier Extraction Talent: Reincarnated in a Game-like World!

[Ding do you wish to extract the Crimson Judgement gold ranked great sword? Cost 500 EP?]

When Gabriel saw the amount of EP needed to extract his blade, he almost choked on his breath. That was nearly his entire reserve.

”How did this talent even work?” This was one of the questions Gabriel had asked himself. At first, it appeared as if the system was spitting out random EP costs and EP gains.

However, he believed it was not random. He had made some findings and realized that the EP he gained from kills was not random, and neither was the EP needed to extract items. They all followed a template known only to the system.

What confused him was the extraction of treasures. He vividly remembered that at the start of his rebirth, the Voidsting Blade he had been using only required 5 EP to extract. That was because the blade was iron ranked at the time.

The same thing happened when he extracted the war axe of the banished orc chieftain in that special realm.

With these two encounters, he was confident that all iron rank items required 5 EP. However, he had never used extraction on bronze or silver ranked items before.

”Perhaps the escalation starts from there,” he frowned, mumbling to himself. So far, he had mostly been extracting corpses for skills, treasures, and attribute points. That was why he could not immediately tell whether the system numbers were random or predetermined.

To quickly test this theory, Gabriel set the gold ranked Crimson Judgement aside, definitely not because he was hesitating to spend almost his entire reserve on a single sword.

With a quick scan of his inventory, he retrieved a bronze ranked dagger and proceeded to use extraction on it.

Seeing the number, he decided to try again with another item. This time, it was a silver ranked treasure.

To extract the silver ranked treasure, the system displayed a cost of 180 EP.

”So the figures truly start escalating from silver upward,” he sighed quietly. ”I guess I have to kill more things then.”

Gabriel shifted his attention back to the great sword, staring at it with intense eyes as he made a decision in his heart.

Crimson Judgement was his primary weapon. It had saved him dozens of times. If improving it would cost almost all his reserve, then so be it.

In a slightly strained voice, he said, ”Extract.”

Painfully, Gabriel watched the heart wrenching scene as his 500 EP vanished like dissipating smoke, dropping his total down to a measly 200 Extraction Points.

The pain lasted only a few seconds as the result of the extraction began to unfold before his very eyes.

A purple glow bathed the Crimson Judgement. Before Gabriel could blink, the cracks along the blade disappeared one after another. The sword’s edge grew far sharper. The once dull crimson edges refined themselves, thinning until they seemed capable of cutting through the air itself.

After some time, the purple glow faded, revealing a Crimson Judgement that appeared more robust, denser, and powerful. The blade glowed with a deeper crimson hue, while the hilt was now wrapped in soft black leather, protecting the wielder from being injured by his own weapon.

What was strangest of all was the connection Gabriel felt with the sword. It was almost as if it recognized him as its owner and was calling out to him, urging him to wield it.

”This better be worth it,” Gabriel sneered as he recalled the amount of EP he had spent. If there was no noticeable improvement, he would be genuinely pissed.

At the same time, even though his extraction talent had disappointed him a few times in the past, he believed it would not fail him in this case.

As he looked at the sword, excitement coursed through his body like a child seeing a new toy. He reached out and picked up the great sword, but the moment he did, visible strain appeared on his face.

”This is heavy,” he gasped.

Crimson Judgement had already been a powerful weapon. One needed at least 100 Strength points to wield it properly, which meant most who could use it were Hero Rank or above.

For Gabriel to feel this much strain meant the blade had far surpassed the previous 100 Strength requirement.

Furthermore, he felt strong resistance from the sword, which was strange because he had just felt it calling out to him.

Moments later, the reason became clear as a new screen lit up before him.

[Please initiate blood contract to bind the sword to you.]

Gabriel did not find this strange. In fact, blood contracts were quite common in this world. Blood bound treasures recognized their owners, making it difficult for others to wield them or bring out their full potential.

Slowly, he dragged the edge of the blade across his palm, and blood spilled forth.

The moment the first drop touched the great sword, everything changed.

Crimson veins flared violently, spreading across the blade like living roots. The sword let out a low, almost inaudible hum, as if it were drinking greedily.

The blood did not drip to the ground. Instead, it was absorbed instantly, vanishing into the metal.

As soon as the process was over, pain shot through Gabriel’s arm. It was not physical pain, but something deeper, like a part of him was being acknowledged.

[Ding blood contract successfully established]

With the restriction removed, the sword’s aura exploded outward for a brief moment before stabilizing. The blade darkened slightly, its red glow becoming deeper, heavier, and more oppressive. The air around it felt distorted, as though standing too close would invite harm.

This time, when Gabriel picked up the sword, he still felt a trace of strain, but it was faint. It seemed the resistance earlier had been caused by the binding restriction.

He proceeded to read the sword’s description, and the moment he saw it, a joyful smile spread across his face, his eyes sparkling.

This sword would be a massive game changer in the upcoming battle, especially against so many enemies.
