Clan Rise: Starting as a Grandfather

Chapter 1000: Chapter 702: A Dazzling Performance by the Powerful Archers

The arrows whistled continuously, each one taking a life, and many times there was the situation of a single arrow hitting two targets.

The strong bows made from the aerial roots of the Ten-thousand-year-old Rong were extremely heavy, impossible to fully draw without immense strength of over a thousand pounds.

To shoot dozens of arrows in a short time, the archer not only needed immense strength but also enduring arm strength.

The basic training for strongbowmen is archery, shooting straight, not parabolically.

The strength of a strongbowman is not in range but in the power of the arrow shot and the accuracy.

If it is a lob shot, the advantage of using a strongbow is in its range, but the arrow’s power is not much stronger than a regular bow and arrow.

In contrast, flat shooting, short-range shooting, is the strongbow’s greatest advantage.

At this moment, the strength of the strongbowmen was displayed vividly, but no matter the cultivation of the enemy they faced, their arrows would inevitably seal throats.

Be it ordinary Martial Artists or Postnatal Martial Artists, it was difficult to escape their arrows.

Even a martial artist of the Postnatal Ninth Layer, when facing a strongbowman, might fail with one careless move and lose everything.

Only Innate Martial Artists had a chance to entangle with these strongbowmen, as Innate Martial Artists could defend with True Qi armor, blocking the strongbowmen’s shots.

However, if one has just entered Innate, facing this group of strongbowmen is also more dangerous than auspicious.

Upon just entering Innate, the True Qi reserve is relatively low, making it hard to sustain True Qi armor for long durations.

If they cannot eliminate all the strongbowmen in a short time, they would end up riddled with arrows.

Yang Mingzhi stood on the arrow tower, clearly watching the thousand combat groups surge toward the mountain top like a tide, leaving corpses where they passed like the Grim Reaper.

Standing beside him, Jiang Fu saw this scene with mouth agape and a face full of incredulity.

Too exaggerated!

Simply unimaginable!

This was bare-faced slaughter.

If the Northern barbarians stayed hidden, they were fine. As soon as they showed up before those strongbowmen, it was almost certain death.

”Second Young Master, this~~” Jiang Fu opened his mouth, seeming to have many questions to ask, but when the words reached his mouth, he didn’t know what to say.

Yang Mingzhi’s lips curved up faintly, his eyes flashing with brilliance.

”Not bad at all. It wasn’t in vain that I painstakingly trained them for over three years!”

For Yang Mingzhi to settle down to train soldiers was a rare affair, let alone doing so for three whole years.

Now watching his trained soldiers showcase their divine might, a strong sense of accomplishment immediately filled Yang Mingzhi’s spirit, radiating a joyous aura.

In contrast to Yang Mingzhi was the just-awakening Bai Ning.

At this moment, Bai Ning was filled with panic and terror.

Crying shouts of panic reached him like relentless heavy hammers striking his heart.

”How many enemies are there? Where did they come from?”

He shouted with fear and anger.

”I don’t know!”

Yet the only reply he got was this one.

Don’t know!

In the entire camp of over a hundred thousand people, no one knew where the enemy came from or how many there were, only that the foes entering were terrifying.

”Damn it!” Bai Ning was furious, but at least he hadn’t let fear and fury cloud his mind.

”Men, quick, follow me to block those enemies!”

At this time, under his command, there were many warriors. Besides the thirty to forty thousand able-bodied men in the camp, he also had nearly ten thousand elite Northern barbarians by his side; these elite riders were his greatest reliance.

In fact, if he could organize these ten thousand elite riders to counterattack now, they might truly halt the two thousand Divine Wood Soldiers.

But upon stepping out of his palace, he shockingly found only fewer than a thousand people by his side.

Moreover, he discovered the enemy had already breached his royal city.

The so-called royal city was just a larger palace and dozens of beautifully crafted stone houses.

His royal city had walls, more than a yard high, but such high walls were obviously unable to fend off two thousand Divine Wood Soldiers.

Even with soldiers guarding the walls, they could not stop the steps of the Divine Wood Soldiers.

Because those soldiers dared not show their heads, for once they did, it meant death.

In only a moment, the city walls were seized by the Divine Wood Soldiers, and everyone inside the royal city became their living targets.

Yang Mingzhi and Jiang Fu flew over just in time to witness the most tragic scene.

Before the palace gates, in front of Bai Ning, nearly a thousand elite Northern barbarians stood as a barrier.

Then, as if harvesting wheat, the elite Northern barbarians fell one by one, like peeling onions, one layer after another.

Initially, these elite Northern barbarians had the courage to charge toward the walls, but they soon realized all struggle was futile.

Bai Ning watched his warriors fall one by one before him, then saw the remaining ones scatter and flee, turning his face pale and filling him with terror.

What frightened him more was seeing his mentor, the Tatar Tribe’s strongest, a half-step Innate master, also fall under the terrifying rain of arrows.

His mentor charged furthest, nearly reaching the wall, but as his mentor attempted to leap onto the wall, two enemies with round shields jumped up, crashing into his mentor’s embrace, and his mentor’s figure halted. In an instant, arrows pierced his mentor’s head and neck.

Bai Ning finally panicked. He stumbled back into the palace.

Over a hundred elite Northern barbarians also fled into the palace with him.

The massive doors closed in a flurry of panic.
