Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path

The first night of Su Rumei’s prison life was not a pleasant one.

After the court sentenced her, she was confined in a prison in the suburb of Beijing.

This place was even worse than the orphanage where she stayed before Su Changsheng adopted her.

In the orphanage, there was at least a chance for fate to change through adoption, but now, this was a prison where not only did she have to accept reform and labor without pay, but the living conditions were poor as well.

At night, Su Rumei curled up on her hard bed and suddenly felt a chill.

It was already late autumn, and the nights were still very cold. To top it off, a basin of cold water was splashed on her; even a person made of iron would feel unbearably cold.

”What are you doing?” Su Rumei got up and looked at the person holding a basin, smiling at her, and said angrily, ”Why did you pour water on my bed?”

”Why did you write approval notes for those heartless people?”

”If it weren’t for your approval notes, could those counterfeit medicines have hit the market?” The person was not tall, but you could tell from her arms that she was a practitioner.

Su Rumei had always been someone who knew when to adapt, especially after being in that position for so many years, she had some discernment.

This person seemed to have some standing in this prison.

Knowing that this person was looking for trouble, she didn’t want to bother with her anymore.

Her bed was wet, so she’d just have to go without a blanket; she still had a slightly thicker coat to put over herself.

Since being adopted by Su Changsheng, Su Rumei hadn’t done any hard, tiring work. Today’s reform made her wish she could collapse and fall asleep.

And now, all she could think about was sleeping.

The blanket could be taken out to dry in the sun tomorrow.

She could also report the incident to the guard.

She couldn’t just be bullied for nothing.

But knowing someone was deliberately causing trouble, how could they just let her off so easily?

”Ladies, lock the door and release Ru Hua.” The woman said with a mischievous grin.

Then, Su Rumei saw the excited expressions of several other female inmates in the large room, one of whom was gloating even more.

Ru... Ru Hua? What is that?

Could it be a dog?

After being released, Ru Hua first picked her nose, then licked her fingers that had just picked her nose.

The crowd was almost sickened to death by her actions.

”Ru Hua, here’s a fun plaything for you.” The woman laughed, ”Have fun, let’s have a good look.”

She was Ru Hua?!

Su Rumei didn’t know why they called this Ru Hua over, but judging by Ru Hua’s gaze, it was like a dog eyeing a bone, with an excited thrill.

”You... what are you trying to do?” Su Rumei couldn’t help but take two steps back.

As a result, she accidentally bumped into someone else. Before she had a chance to apologize, she saw that person gloatingly smile, ”Hurry up and enjoy it.”

Not only that, after speaking, they pushed Su Rumei in Ru Hua’s direction.

Su Rumei collided straight into Ru Hua’s arms.

Ru Hua was somewhat sturdy and quite tall, around 1.72 meters, while Su Rumei’s head barely reached her shoulders.

”Trying so impatiently to throw yourself at me, Ru Hua, you shouldn’t be polite then,” said the woman, leaving the area for Ru Hua and Su Rumei.

Su Rumei was nearly suffocated by the smell emanating from Ru Hua.

It was disgusting, so hard to bear.
