Reborn into the 70: Turning Adversity into Her Dazzling Path

Chapter 458: Chapter 458: Grandma is good

Yang Zhao didn’t mention that he actually uncovered some clues, not about Yao Qianru’s death, but regarding Yao Qianru’s background. However, as the matter hasn’t been confirmed, he wasn’t sure whether to tell Gu Lingling.

He decided to wait until Yang Yunhai returned to make a decision.

After Yang Zhao left, Gu Lingling thought about it and decided to go to the military base to find Liu Yating.

Ever since she started working, she hadn’t visited Liu Yating’s home for a long time, though Liu Yating would occasionally come to the transformer factory to see them.

And she always brought a lot of food for her.

Most of the food was Kyoto specialties sent from the Capital City.

Thinking of the lovely elderly lady in the Capital City, Gu Lingling decided to prepare more cured meats and pickled vegetables to send over this year.

When she arrived at Liu Yating’s house, Wang Shuxia was not at work and was on the phone. When she saw Gu Lingling, she looked like she’d seen a savior, ”Auntie, guess who came?”

She continued, ”Lingling, hurry up and answer the phone.”

If she didn’t answer soon, she’d be questioned by this aunt until she didn’t know how to respond.

The call was from Yang Yunhai’s grandma. The elderly lady hadn’t received a call from her future granddaughter-in-law for a long time and was quite displeased with Wang Shuxia.

Wang Shuxia felt helpless too. Gu Lingling had started working and, naturally, didn’t visit their home as often as before. As the year-end approached, her job was also very busy.

So, over time, the matter of making phone calls was forgotten.

”Hello, Grandma,” Gu Lingling said with a smile as she took the phone, ”How is your health?”

”I’m doing well.” Hearing Gu Lingling’s voice lifted the elderly lady’s spirits greatly, ”I just miss seeing you, girl. By the way, why don’t you come to the Capital City with Yating and the others for the holidays.”

Now it was a crucial time; their family couldn’t make any big moves in the Capital City, but Gu Lingling could be invited to visit.

Zheng Xiangjun thought her idea was just perfect.

”Well... Grandma Yang, I have to work,” Gu Lingling replied embarrassedly.

Going to the Capital City for the holidays?

Better forget it.

Previously, Gu Lingling couldn’t understand why Grandma Yang was so good to her. After Yang Yunhai confessed to her, she had a guess.

He probably had already told Grandma Yang about their relationship, so Grandma Yang was so enthusiastic towards her.

”You should take leave and come see me,” the elderly lady said, starting to act coy, ”Look, Yunhai probably won’t come back to accompany me this year, and if you don’t come, our old couple will be so lonely.”

Gu Lingling, ”...”

This...

Looking helplessly at Zhang Shuxia as if seeking help, Gu Lingling really didn’t know what to do.

”Auntie.” Wang Shuxia called helplessly.

”Fine, you just know how useless you are.” That girl was soft-hearted, if she acted pitiful a bit longer, it would probably be enough, but Wang Shuxia was unhelpful, responding like this at such a time.

”Grandma, don’t worry, although I can’t come, I’ll send more cured meats and pickled vegetables. I just learned to make a kind of pickled vegetable recently, it’s so delicious.” Gu Lingling quickly said into the phone.

”You and Grandpa Yang should take good care of your health.” After speaking, she pulled Liu Yating into her room.

Oh my goodness, if she stayed on the line any longer, she feared she’d agree to Grandma Yang.

”Why don’t you come with us?” Liu Yating lay on her bed looking at Gu Lingling, ”It’s just right to take you for a visit to the Capital City.”

”Better forget it, I’ll go some other time.” Gu Lingling shook her head.

If not for her relationship with Yang Yunhai, she might consider going to the Capital City with Liu Yating for a tour.

But with Yang Yunhai, it always felt like visiting the family.

Gu Lingling just didn’t anticipate that she ended up going to the Capital City.
