This High Martial World is Too Crazy!!!

Chapter 228: Chapter 226: The White Federation and the Black Empire

In Akia, Ji Donglai first spoke with a worried tone, but then laughed heartily and said:

”With a lineup like ours, there’s no way we’ll get crushed unless we come up against someone who just completely overpowers us.”

”We have defense, melee, mobility, and people to cover the gaps. Honestly, it’d be hard to lose.”

Looking at the confident man, Fang Can felt a little exasperated. ’Is he trying to jinx us?’

”But you mentioned before that in other countries, the whites have their democracy and the blacks have their dictatorship. How is the Black Empire’s way any different from ours?”

Fang Can asked curiously. It was his first time hearing about the other countries, so he couldn’t help but ask a few more questions.

”The White Federation’s democracy is for the ordinary people. It’s kind of like the X-Men.”

Ji Donglai said with a look of disgust, ”Not only do they have to be lapdogs for normal people, but they’re also discriminated against by the entire country. The superhumans there are completely disorganized and constantly fighting amongst themselves.”

”You know as well as I do that most superhumans are one-trick ponies. Even if your Fireball can destroy a city, you could still get your brains blown out by a sniper from a distance.”

”Without unity, most superhumans in their society are treated like freaks and enslaved by ordinary people. Only the ones at the very top have it a little better.”

”Now that the Martial Dao from the Otherworld has spread, life will probably get even harder for the superhumans in the White Federation.”

”As for the dictatorship in the Black Empire, that’s a dictatorship *by* superhumans.”

”A Black Emperor rules over all the superhumans in the nation like a feudal monarch, using pure force to suppress everyone, superhumans and ordinary people alike.”

”Lower-level superhumans’ lives are controlled by their superiors in a system of layered exploitation.”

”I couldn’t stand their system. That’s why I rejected the idea of merging with them and struck out on my own with my team.”

Ji Donglai sighed. ”Still, we’re all superhumans, so we maintain some ties. We have some minor collaborations, like in technological R&D—developing bases on the Moon and Mars, for instance.”

”We have bases on the Moon and Mars?” Fang Can said, stunned.

”Of course. We just had Superman F take a spatial manipulator up there to set up an anchor point.”

”The White Federation’s aviation administration has a State Level spatial manipulator as a deputy director. We can travel freely to and from Mars now,” Ji Donglai said matter-of-factly.

”We should spend the next few days training together to get familiar with each other’s abilities before the next trip to the Otherworld. Just in case.”

Fang Can nodded in understanding. After all, he was the one who had caused this mess, so he should be the one taking it most seriously.

”But... according to tradition, you have to go welcome a newcomer first,” Ji Donglai said, a grin suddenly spreading across his face.

”A newcomer?” Fang Can was taken aback. ”What newcomer?”

”According to our Dragon Group’s tradition of the old welcoming the new, when a new superhuman is discovered, the last person who joined is the one who goes to greet them. It’s just part of the process.”

Ji Donglai took a manual out and handed it over. ”You just joined, so you’ll be the one to welcome this rookie.”

Fang Can took the manual and glanced at it. It was a welcoming guide. ”This isn’t how it went when I joined.”

”You caused a bit of a scene when you joined, so I went personally. As for this rookie, we’ll follow tradition, and you’ll go.”

”Tsk.” Fang Can flipped through the welcoming procedures in the manual and realized he hadn’t gone through most of them himself. He said with a resigned sigh:

”Fine. Give me the name and location. I’ll go myself,” Fang Can said, clutching the manual.

”The location is F City, downtown police station. A new superhuman had their powers activate and killed two girls who were bullying them.”

Fang Can wasn’t particularly bothered by the bullies being killed. Instead, he was surprised. ”The police dare to lock up a superhuman? Has the world gone completely insane?!”

”Oh, the kid’s just homeless. I mean, if you’re getting bullied, you can imagine what the family situation is like. That’s why I’ve already sent people to kill those two animalistic parents of theirs,” Ji Donglai said calmly.

”Whoa, you’re just going to have them killed like that?” Fang Can grew suspicious. ”My parents haven’t called me at all recently. You didn’t kill them too, did you?”

As he said it, Fang Can found it strange. He was discussing his own parents’ life and death so calmly with the man before him, as if it wouldn’t even matter if they were dead.

”They were supposed to die, but I figured I’d let you handle it yourself. I just cut off their ability to contact you. You can call them and let them know you’re alright.”

Ji Donglai said flatly, ”As I see it, biological parents who could watch you get kidnapped and be too stingy to pay the ransom should just be killed.”

”If your powers hadn’t manifested and caused that gang of kidnappers to die in a series of ’accidents’ right as the police arrived, you wouldn’t be alive today if you were just a normal person.”

”So, theoretically, the rest of your life is a gift from your powers, not your parents. After all, they already gave you up for ten million.”

”Oh, and I recall that ten million was something you got when your luck powers kicked in after you broke a bone, wasn’t it?” Ji Donglai added casually.

”Alright, alright. I’ll handle my own family business,” Fang Can said, waving his hand dismissively.

”What do you mean, your own family business? *We* are your family! Those ordinary people are just vessels for creating us.” Ji Donglai slammed his fist on a broken stone pillar next to him.

”If you keep listening to the lies of ordinary people, you’ll regret it one day.”

’Tsk, listen to him talk.’ Fang Can thought with a sneer. ’I wonder how fast your tune would change if my dad suddenly revealed he was a superhuman too.’

Of course, Fang Can only thought this to himself and didn’t say it out loud. Otherwise, things would have gotten awkward.

”Alright, welcoming the rookie, right? I’ll go check it out.” Fang Can waved his hand, activated his force field, and floated into the air. He left a shockwave in his wake as he flew toward F City.

The so-called F City was actually on a massive island that had been occupied by Japan before the Great Cataclysm.

However, in the ensuing turmoil, it was easily occupied by superhumans and annexed into the New Country, the nation of the yellow-skinned people.

At Fang Can’s speed, even without going all out, it only took him a little over ten minutes to reach the outskirts of F City.

In fact, at his current speed, it wouldn’t be a problem for him to circumnavigate the entire planet.

He could feel his body, moving at immense speed, ramming through the air as if it were a wall of foam, pushing aside the slowly flowing gases and creating massive blasts all around him.

Good thing he was flying at a high altitude. If he were closer to the ground, any ordinary person within a hundred-meter radius would risk being torn to shreds by the turbulence.

But it was precisely because he was in the deserted skies that Fang Can could unleash his power so wantonly.

As he released his power without restraint, Fang Can discovered that it had actually grown a little stronger.
