Reincarnated as a Lizard

Boing~! Boing~! Boing~!

Following the escape from the three adventurers that it thought were far stronger and capable of possible trapping it again, the dragon devouring slime didn’t continue lingering around inside the forest as it headed directly towards the cave with the passage leading down to the fourth floor of the dungeon before heading down the spiral staircase towards the mountain range below.

Not wanting to end up encountering the terrifying humans again, as it intended to go back to hunting after it got back to the mountain range.

Boing?

However, as it reached the end of the spiral staircase and found itself back on the rocky terrain of the mountain range once again, the dragon devouring slime suddenly picked up a unique smell in the air, a smell that was far too tempting for any dragon devouring slime to resist. The smell of dragon blood!

Even more surprisingly, it wasn’t just coming from one monster like it first thought but seemed to come from countless monsters somewhere in the depths of the mountain range. Meaning there was a large number of monsters with dragon blood flowing through them present in the depths of the mountain range, something that the dragon devouring slime had never noticed during its entire life inside the mountain range.

Not just that, but among the countless new dragon related monsters that seemed to be present in the depths of the mountain range, the dragon devouring slime also picked up a rather familiar smell, a smell that made it recall how it had been knocked flying into a ravine and had been forced to spend days climbing its way back out of the ravine.

Yes, what it could smell was none other than Scaly, who was currently in the process of filling up her stomach after finishing her fourth evolution.

Boing! Boing!

Together with the fact that it could clearly sense and smell that the dragon blood of Scaly was of far higher quality compared to the rest it had sensed and wanted revenge for being thrown into a ravine by her, the dragon devouring slime began angrily bouncing towards the depths of the mountain range. Heading directly towards where Scaly was.

Using its powerful sensory abilities for tracking down dragon related monsters and dragons, that had only grown stronger with its increase in strength, to pinpoint Scaly’s location.

In the process, also showing just how terrifying a slime specialized for devouring or killing a certain monster was, as it had essentially evolved for the sole purpose of devouring dragons.

Although most of the devoured dragons it evolved to consume were dead, it only meant that it required terrifying tracking and sensing abilities to find these dragons after they fell. An ability that had only grown stronger in the dragon devouring slimes as the number of dragons present in the world continued to decrease.

In the world today, when it came to tracking down dragons, the dragon devouring slime was by far the most skillful in this aspect. Beating any other way for tracking down dragons, be it magic equipment, powerful skills or specialized tracking monsters.

Chomp!

Unaware of the fact that she was being hunted by a now much more powerful dragon devouring slime, Scaly was happily chomping down on a large boar monster that she killed, as her stomach had finally been filled up to the point where she didn’t have to worry about going into a feeding frenzy like she had done the last time around.

Not just that, but during her period of hunting for food, she had managed to increase her level up to two. Giving her an opportunity to find out how much her strength would increase with each level up... And the discovery was rather shocking.

Name: Scaly

Race: Young Tempest Dragon

Dragon blood: 15% (Common)

Level: 2/30, 12%

STR: 312 |VIT: 535 | DEX: 284 | M: 737

Magic: [Dragon Water Magic, lvl 3], [Ice Magic lvl 1], [Wind Magic, lvl 1], [Lightning Magic, lvl 1],

Skills: [Dragon Bloodline, lvl 4], [Dragon Flight, lvl 3], [Poison Resistance, lvl 3], [Dragon Claw Strike, lvl 5], [Dragon Breath (Water), lvl 3], [Corrosion Resistance, lvl 2], [Pain Resistance, lvl 2], [Swimming, lvl 2]

Looking over her status as she continued chomping down on the boar monster, she once again glanced towards her increase in strength following a single level up, a total of 55 points spread through her four main stats.

Compared to the past where a single level had increased her stats by a total of 31 points, it was a more than 20 point increase per level after her fourth evolution!

Put simply, her stat increase per level before her fourth evolution was like listed below.

STR: +5 |VIT: +10 | DEX: +4 | M: +12

Then after her fourth evolution, her stats had changed to...

STR: +10 |VIT: +15 | DEX: +10 | M: +20

All things considered, it was clear that her magic had increased by the most, but surprisingly, the one that increased the most after her magic was not her strength or vitality, but instead her dexterity. Placing it on the same level as her strength in terms of growth.

If not for her dragon bloodline skill, it would also have been at the same level as her vitality, meaning only her magic would have a higher growth than her dexterity.

This not only made Scaly realize that her current evolution shouldn’t be as focused on magic as she had first thought, but also made her realize that an increase in her dexterity seemed to also increase her control over her own body.

Although it wasn’t that noticeable, she could clearly sense how her control over her wings had increased following her level up. Allowing her to potentially glide through the air for a short period of time longer compared to what she had been capable of in the past.

However, by far, the most important thing she discovered after her level up was the fact that she seemed to have grown a bit. Meaning that she might actually get a chance to fly before she went through her next evolution, as growing in size also meant that her wings were growing larger.

Chomp~!

Of course, this was still something far off into the future for the current Scaly, as she once again focused her attention back on the delicious boar in front of her.

For now, she wanted to finish her meal before starting to plan on how to kill the heavenly lake serpents, as they were important for the future growth of her dragon bloodline and increasing the quality of her dragon blood.

After all, even though her dragon bloodline still remained stuck at level four even thought she had evolved into a young tempest dragon, she clearly understood that the level of her dragon bloodline skill was tied to not only the level of her dragon skills and magic, but also the quality of the dragon blood flowing through her body.

If she managed to increase the purity of her dragon blood to 20% and level up a few of her dragon skills or magic, she had a feeling that her dragon bloodline would finally be able to breakthrough to level 5.

Even if she had no idea what kind of benefits she would get from leveling her dragon bloodline up to level 5, she understood one thing clearly and that was the fact that leveling up her dragon bloodline increased the stats she gained upon increasing her level, something that had been indispensable for her growth, as it would have been impossible for her to have officially become a dragon so fast without it.

Not to mention officially become a dragon, she doubted that she would have managed to become something other than a lizard at this point in time without the continued help of her dragon bloodline skill.

At the same time, it had also made her understand that the dragon bloodline skill wasn’t something that any monster related to dragons acquired. Instead, it seemed to be a rather special skill that might not even be something that normal dragons had.

Chomp~!

Finishing up the last bit of the boar, Scaly got back up before turning back in the direction she had come from-

Swish~!

And without any hesitation, she began making her way back towards the mountains area that the wave of water and heavenly lake serpents had swept through in the past.

The sole reason behind this being that she intended to follow the tracks that had been left by the heavenly lake serpents in the rocks to track them down.

Fully intend on not only killing them to further the purity of her own dragon blood, but also to take revenge for the trouble they had caused her while she was trying to leave the crater. Not having forgotten how they had been trying to kill her and how she had ended up all bloody escaping down the side of the mountain.
