Chapter 2534: Chapter 752: Shadow Ghost Beast (2)

Di Minghan really wanted to send the Shadow Ghost Beast in Mo Jiuli’s arms flying with a slap, but the words cried out by the beast made Di Minghan realize it might be the contract beast of Jiuli’s father. So, with a dark face, Di Minghan held back...

Seeing their lord’s pitch-dark face, Guardian Hua and the others secretly sympathized with the Shadow Ghost Beast in Mo Jiuli’s arms. This guy actually dared to occupy the lady’s embrace; hopefully, it won’t end up too miserably after it’s done explaining...

Mo Jiuli also wanted to throw the little black furball out of her arms, but its words made her hold back. She lowered her head, speechlessly looking at the furball, unsure whether it was excited or moved. It cried for half a day without shedding a single tear, just dry wailing, which was quite incongruent with its earlier grand imagination...

”Alright, if you can’t cry, then don’t!” Mo Jiuli said speechlessly.

”Boo hoo, Lady, how can you expose me? I just don’t have tears, but I’ve really been waiting for you for so long that my hair has turned white...” The Shadow Ghost Beast said very aggrievedly.

Mo Jiuli’s head was full of black lines upon hearing this; she really couldn’t see which part of its pitch-black body had turned white...

The Shadow Ghost Beast seemed to think of something, moved its body awkwardly, and then raised its head to look at Mo Jiuli, saying, ”Lady, why did you disguise yourself? I almost didn’t recognize you and nearly ate you...”

Mo Jiuli...

Indeed, she and Di Minghan had disguised themselves because their appearances, even here at Cloud Peak, could easily cause trouble. To make things easier, the two of them took on equally handsome appearances through disguise, though it was still far less than their original looks...

”Tell me, why do you call me ’Lady’?” Mo Jiuli asked the Shadow Ghost Beast. She couldn’t be blamed for asking; she really didn’t know her father Mo Yan had such a peculiar Shadow Ghost Beast.

”I am the master’s contract beast, the Shadow Ghost Beast. Though the lady hasn’t seen me, I saw the lady when she was born. But soon after your birth, you left with Madam, so you never saw me...” The Shadow Ghost Beast said honestly, looking at Mo Jiuli.

”Do you know Lingling?” Mo Jiuli thought for a moment and asked the Shadow Ghost Beast.

”Is the lady referring to the Dark Spirit beside the master? I know her, and Ming Yu too. They are still with the master. The reason the master left me here was to wait for the lady. The master was worried that the lady would be in danger upon arriving here, so he left me to wait for you...” The Shadow Ghost Beast explained slowly, looking at Mo Jiuli.

Only then did Mo Jiuli realize that this Shadow Ghost Beast was indeed her father Mo Yan’s contract beast, always dormant within his body, so she didn’t know. Mo Yan left it here to wait for her because he worried that she might recklessly head to Yuhai Academy, which might be dangerous, so he left it waiting in the Yunhai Mountain...

As luck would have it, the Shadow Ghost Beast wasn’t originally here; it was in the Yunhai Mountain near Yuhai Academy. By chance, it discovered a Spiritual Fruit that could run. Curious, it chased the fruit all the way here and ended up losing sight of it. So it simply stayed here, hoping to wait for the Spiritual Fruit to appear so it could catch it and return near Yuhai Academy to wait in case she arrived. Unexpectedly, before the Spiritual Fruit arrived, she came first...
