Chapter 2474: Chapter 692: The Demon Clan’s Soul-Devouring Demonic Worms

Seeing Mo Jiuli, he paused slightly, then realized what was happening to him and hoarsely shouted, ”Jiuli, I know what those red lights are!”

When Mo Jiuli saw Di Minghan wake up and heard his hoarse voice, she took out a bottle of Spiritual Spring Water and gave it to him to drink. After sitting up, Di Minghan felt a bit better, and then said to Mo Jiuli, ”If I’m not mistaken, those red lights are the soul-devouring insects of the Demon Clan!”

”Soul-devouring insects of the Demon Clan? What are they?” Mo Jiuli asked with a frown; she had never heard of such a thing.

”They are a terrifying creature of the Demon Clan, but I never expected such a thing in my parents’ soul sea! When I saw those red lights just now, some scenes flashed in my mind. There was a Demon Clan person who specialized in breeding soul-devouring insects of the Demon Clan. Everywhere he went, there were those soul-devouring insects he bred. He used them to kill many people from the Human Clan, Demon Clan, Beast Clan, and Divine Clan. In the end, he was killed by a Demon God, and the soul-devouring insects he bred were also incinerated by the Divine Clan with Divine Fire. That was a joint effort by the God and Demon to deal with a Demon Clan person breeding soul-devouring insects! But why would there be soul-devouring insects in my parents’ soul sea, I just couldn’t figure it out...” Di Minghan said painfully.

”What are the characteristics of those soul-devouring insects? Or do they have any weaknesses?” Mo Jiuli asked Di Minghan after hearing him.

”The soul-devouring insects have no weaknesses; they are immortal and indestructible, colorless and odorless. They only emit a faint red glow when they penetrate deep into a person’s soul! The soul-devouring insects specifically feed on souls of all beings, regardless of the race. Any being with a soul is their food. A Demon Clan person once used three soul-devouring insects to breed a large number of them, causing destruction across the world, with severe deaths and injuries. It was only later that the God and Demon joined forces to eradicate them...” Di Minghan recalled the scenes he just saw with some palpitations.

”Is there really no way to resist them? Or how did these soul-devouring insects enter uncle and aunt’s soul sea? Is there no trace to be found?” Mo Jiuli asked with a frown after hearing him.

”Let me think more carefully...” Di Minghan frowned and pondered in response.

”I’ve got it. These soul-devouring insects will prioritize entering the bodies of Demon Clan people, and if they want to breed, a man’s and a woman’s souls must simultaneously enter the soul-devouring insect. Only then can they breed, and the speed is astonishing! But if these two people are dead, although the soul-devouring insects will still consume each other’s souls, the speed is extremely slow because they prefer living souls...” Di Minghan finally lifted his head after thinking for a long time and looked at Mo Jiuli.

”So, the soul-devouring insects in uncle and aunt’s soul sea, regardless of how they got in, because they’ve been under the curse of a poisonous soul worm, in a pseudo-death state, with their souls in deep sleep, it’s very likely that the soul-devouring insects didn’t breed, just continuously consumed their souls, which is why they haven’t been able to wake up...” Upon hearing this, Mo Jiuli’s eyes lit up as she said.

”That’s very likely, but Jiuli, my parents—no one knows how long their souls have been consumed by these soul-devouring insects. Do you think they might already...” Di Minghan said fearfully.

”Do you trust me?” Mo Jiuli looked at Di Minghan and asked.
