Chapter 972: Chapter 273. As long as he likes it, that’s fine!

Chapter 273

Zheng Xuexian sized up Tian Meimei, who was sitting below. Although Tian Meimei tried to appear very well-behaved due to the fact that both of them were parents of the Young Master Mo, from the first glance, Zheng Xuexian took a dislike to the girl...

Such a woman, she knew, was utterly unsuited for her icily aloof son! Besides, her son didn’t like her anyway. They would not, for the sake of family benefits, make their son engage in a marriage he disliked...

”Mo Clan Patriarch, regarding the matter I mentioned earlier, how have you considered it?” Old Patriarch Tian directly got to the point.

”I personally have no objections. Xiao Yi is indeed of age to take a wife! However, since Xiao Yi is now the Young Master Mo and will be the future Mo Clan Patriarch, we don’t plan to involve ourselves in his affairs. As long as he’s happy, that’s fine by us!” Mo Chenyu also spoke frankly.

Hearing this, Old Master of Tian Family frowned and said, ”The matter of a child’s marriage has always been governed by the matchmaker’s words and the parents’ commands! I think if the Mo Clan Patriarch agrees, Young Master Mo would not oppose it either!”

”Ha, that’s someone else’s child! As the Young Master Mo, if he can’t even solve his own issues or make his own decisions, then he doesn’t deserve to be the future Patriarch of our Mo Clan!” Mo Chenyu said with a laugh. However, his words caused the Tian family grandfather and granddaughter duo to change their complexion.

His words made it clear that he did not want to agree to this marriage proposal! What did he mean by letting Young Master Mo decide for himself, when Young Master Mo wouldn’t even spare a glance at his granddaughter? If it’s left to him, he would never agree...

Thinking this, Old Master Tian’s expression darkened as he said, ”This marriage was personally promised by your Mo Clan Ancestor to me! Otherwise, I wouldn’t have come to the Mo Clan today. Are you suggesting you want to go back on your word, Mo Clan Patriarch?”

”Old Patriarch Tian, how could I possibly go back on my word? Since you believe it was said by our Ancestor, then let’s wait for our Ancestor to finish his seclusion and he can discuss it with you directly! In any case, if you ask me, I have already left the matter up to Xiao Yi himself! If Lady Tian can make Xiao Yi nod in agreement, then naturally, neither of us will object! If not... then you will have to wait for our Mo Clan Ancestor to finish his seclusion,” Mo Chenyu still said with a smile.

”What? Wait for the Mo Clan Ancestor to come out of seclusion? How long will that take?” Tian Meimei couldn’t help but exclaim upon hearing this.

”That, I’m not quite sure!” Mo Chenyu replied honestly.

The Mo Clan Ancestor’s seclusion was always without word to him; those old fellows always came and went as they pleased without notifying anyone...

Unless the Mo Clan faced an existential crisis, even during internal strife, those old fellows had watched without coming out of seclusion to help him...

Later they claimed it was to train him, reasoning that if he couldn’t manage internal family conflicts, how could he become the Patriarch of the Mo Clan? Even when he was agitated about his comatose wife and wanted to abandon his position as Patriarch to seek healing for her...

He was defeated by a single sentence from the old men. They told him that without the position of Mo Clan Patriarch, saving someone would be even more difficult! Better to firmly hold the position of Patriarch and use the Mo Clan’s great power and reputation to seek a way to heal people...

In the end, he had no choice but to compromise, but looking back now, it was a good thing that he stayed. Otherwise, he may never have met Jiuli, nor have been able to heal Xue Xian...
