Chapter 223: 223. Death Blood Pool

Deep into the Death Valley of Nanfeng city,

inside a pitch-dark cave, countless vampiric bats clung to the walls in their slumber. At the center of the cave was a blood pool, the intense bloody smell was extremely pungent.

Something seemed to exist at the bottom of the blood pool. Despite not feeling any warmth, the blood inside the pool was constantly boiling, making the nauseating smell of blood even richer.

Upon a closer look, it was discovered that this was an enclosed cave, without an entrance or an exit...

Next to the blood pool, a woman was lying face down on the ground, seemingly unconscious! Judging from her petite frame, she was a young woman. She was wearing a white dress, and her hair was twisted into a bun, secured with a white jade hairpin. Her hair, black and glossy, hung down to her waist...

On the other side of the pool, a cloud of black fog slowly began to transform until it formed a man in black robes. He was shrouded in black from head to toe, with a black ghost mask covering his face, making his features impossible to see.

Most peculiar was his aura: icy cold and piercing, void of life. His body was constantly emitting strands of black smoke that lingered around him, giving him an eerie aura...

When Mo Jiuqi awoke, she was met with this terrifying sight. She gasped in fright, her eyes shiftily glancing at the man across the pool. The smell of the blood pool made her want to vomit...

”Hehe, can’t you stomach it now? If you can’t bear it, then you might as well go back! However, once you leave, no one will be able to save you!” The man in the black robe spoke in a mechanical voice...

”No, I won’t go back! No matter what you ask me to do, I’ll agree!” Mo Jiuqi anxiously replied.

She couldn’t become a waste, she was supposed to become the princess consort. She hadn’t yet killed that trash. She was the official Daughter of Heaven and she absolutely wouldn’t allow herself to become a trash...

Thinking of this, a stubborn light flashed in Mo Jiuqi’s eyes. She stared at the man in black and said, ”Please save me!”

”Very well!”

”Plop...”

As soon as the man in the black robe finished speaking, Mo Jiuqi’s body was suddenly lifted up by force and thrown into the blood pool...

”Ah...”

”Plop...”

”Vomit...”

Mo Jiuqi had no time to prepare herself before she was thrown into the blood pool. The bloody smell had almost suffocated her and the sight made her gag...

”You better get used to this smell, because you must consume all the blood in here, either by drinking or absorbing it, within seven days. Otherwise, no one can save you! Moreover, this is the Death Blood Pool. Once you go in, you’ll have to survive and get out, or you’ll become part of the blood pool forever...” The man in the black robe spoke in a cold and ruthless mechanical voice.

Mo Jiuqi looked in disbelief at the man in black but ultimately, she didn’t say a word, lowering her gaze to the revolting blood beneath her...

She bit her lip, closed her eyes, and sat in the middle of the Blood Pool. It would be better to choose absorption as soon as possible instead of drinking the blood...

The man in black glanced at Mo Jiuqi, who was sitting in the blood pool with her eyes closed, before turning into black smoke and disappearing...

Mo Jiuqi sat in the blood pool with no idea how to absorb the blood. In the spur of the moment, she had forgotten to ask. Moreover, the intense smell of the blood made it extremely difficult for her to concentrate...

Thinking of this, Mo Jiuqi tried as hard as she could to block out her sense of smell. Despite feeling exhausted and sweaty, she could no longer smell the blood, making her face look slightly better...

But thinking about the words of the man in black, Mo Jiuqi’s face immediately fell. He said that she must absorb all the blood in the pool within seven days! But how is she supposed to absorb the blood? It’s not like it’s dark energy that she can absorb. She supposed to drink it?

Just thinking about it made Mo Jiuqi feel unbearable...

”You’re not wrong in thinking, this blood, whether you like it or not, must be consumed within seven days! Otherwise, no one can save you. You have six hours to drink the blood. If you don’t drink, blood will start to flow from your body...” The voice of the black-robbed man seemed to be taking pleasure in her misfortune as it echoed in the cave...

”Why? Why do I have to drink this blood?” Mo Jiuqi asked in confusion.

Even though she isn’t a physician, she knew this wasn’t the way to save someone! Even if this monster was under her mom’s orders, he still simply can’t torment her like this, right?

”Tormenting you? You’re not worthy! The choice is yours. But, let me remind you if you don’t drink now, by the time bleeding starts, I hope you can still endure...” The voice of the black-robe man gradually weakened...

”What do you mean? Speak clearly, are you toying with me because you don’t have a way to save me?” Mo Jiuqi roared in confusion.

But no matter how much she yelled, no one responded to her anymore...

All she could do was to sit dumbfounded in the blood pool, hoping for time to pass so that she could escape this damned place! Earlier, she tried countless methods to climb out of the blood pool...

But in the end, she found out that she could only move freely in the blood-filled area. Whenever she got near the pool’s edge, some force would bounce her back...

Moments pass, and six hours had gone by...

Mo Jiuqi was stunned to find that a cut had mysteriously formed on her wrist. Fresh blood was flowing into the blood pool, and as her blood mixed into the pool...

The temperature of the blood pool began to rise, it felt as if she was standing in a pot of blood. The blood around her started to boil, the temperature steadily increasing. If it continued like this, she had no doubt she would die right here...

What should she do? What was even happening?

”Help! Someone, help! Someone...”

”Help, help.....”

Mo Jiuqi screamed until her throat hurt, but there was no response...

The high temperature had made it difficult for her to even stand. She could only sit in the blood pool, surrounded by boiling blood. Her arm was already scorched, devoid of flesh. If this continued, she feared she’d turn into a pile of white bones...

No, she couldn’t die like this...

Looking at the boiling blood pool, she recalled the black-robed man’s words...

In the end, Mo Jiuqi had no choice but to close her eyes and submerge her head into the blood pool...

”Gulp...”

”Gulp...”

”Gulp...”

With her sense of smell blocked, she quickly gulped down several mouthfuls of the fresh blood. She thought that once finished, she’d surely vomit. But once the blood entered her mouth, she miraculously discovered that her skin had somehow recovered a little...

This discovery made Mo Jiuqi incredibly happy. It seemed that the words of the man in black were true! Drinking the blood from the pool was her only chance of survival...
