My Youth Began With Him

“What happened?”

“I think someone was following me.” Huo Mian frowned.

“Following you? Did you see what kind of car it was? What about its license plate?” Qin Chu was extremely cautious.

“I did… the car’s not suspicious because the owner is from C City, but… never mind, I might be overthinking things, work has been really overwhelming recently.”

The truth was, Huo Mian was thinking about the words Huo Siqian previously said to her.

‘Huo Mian, something’s going to happen to both of us.’

In the beginning, Huo Mian didn’t pay much attention; later she realized that Huo Siqian would never say something like this for no reason.

Could it be that Ian was here? But why would someone as powerful as he do such a low thing of following someone?

However, Huo Mian didn’t voice any of these concerns to Qin Chu, worried that he might worry.

“Don’t worry… I always have people protecting you to and from work… No one has the guts to do anything to you, I promise. If someone really tries to make a move, I’m going to make them regret they were ever alive,” Qin Chu consoled Huo Mian, caressing her hair.

“Mhm.”

The four of them then enjoyed a serene family dinner together.

On the other side of town, however, Huo Siqian was in a bad mood as he changed into a suit.

“Boss, do you think it’s a trap?”

“Even so, I still have to go.”

“Why is Mr. Xiang doing this, knowing that Ms. Mo used to be your woman? Do you think he did it on purpose to slap your face?”

“Xiang Donglai’s just an old fox, I know what he’s thinking… He wants to take this chance to do me a favor and get me on his side. Does he think I would ever do that? He’s not worth that much to me,” Huo Siqian sneered.

Mr. Xiang was well-respected amongst the mobsters, and his children and grandchildren were all engaged in illegal activities. However, because they were discreet and had people of authority under their belts, business had been smooth for years.

Huo Siqian rarely interacted with Mr. Xiang’s family, but they always treated each other cordially – on the outside.

Today, he was suddenly invited to dinner at Mr. Xiang’s house; this situation immediately piqued his interest.

Huo Siqian knew that Mr. Xiang bailed Mo Xue’er out. Therefore, he worried about what was waiting for him at dinner…

Suddenly, his moving car came to a halt.

With a frown, Huo Siqian asked, “What’s going on?”

“Boss, that’s Ms. Yan’s car.”

As soon as his subordinate finished his sentence, Yan Ruoxi stubbornly got off her red BMW sports car and ran up to his. “Siqian.”

“Yeah?”

“Are you going to Mr. Xiang’s house?”

“Yeah.”

“I’m coming with you.”

“No, it’s okay.”

“No, I have to go with you. I heard that old man saved Mo Xue’er, I don’t want them to bully you,” Yan Ruoxi said. Then, she got onto Huo Siqian’s car before the latter could respond.

She sat down beside him, snuggling up against him.

“Ruoxi, don’t play around. I’m going there for business.”

“I know, I just want to spend time with you. I promise I won’t do anything rash, I won’t even talk, okay? I’ll be a quiet little girl,” Yan Ruoxi said coyishly.

“Does your dad know you’re here?”

“Stop threatening me with my dad! I don’t care, I’m not getting off your car even if he shows up right this second.” Yan Ruoxi often showed her princess-syndrome side, but Huo Siqian couldn’t do anything about it.

Finally, he had no choice but to compromise. “Let’s go.”

Satisfied with the outcome, Yan Ruoxi moved in even closer to Huo Siqian

– Xiang Family Mansion –

“Elder Xiang… Mr. Huo is here.”

“Tell him to come in.” An old man of around 70 years old walked downstairs with a cane.

Walking beside him was Mo Xue’er; her hair was up in ancient China style, and she was wearing a sexy red qipao.

She didn’t look like someone who had just come out of rehab…

As soon as she saw Huo Siqian’s face, Mo Xue’er’s expression lit up with a fiery glow…
