My Youth Began With Him

”No matter what happens, no matter what difficulties or misfortunes she encounters, the Huo Family’s doors will always stay open for her. She’s free to come back anytime.”

”President Huo, you’re such a good brother.”

”Good brother? No, I’m not,” Huo Siqian directly denied it, making the female host more awkward than ever.

”The Huo Family doesn’t welcome just anyone. Some can come back, but others may never.”

”Um… I don’t really understand what you’re saying, President Huo, haha.” The female host was completely confused by Huo Siqian’s words.

”Haha, it’s okay if you don’t, as long as someone does.”

Upon seeing this, Huo Mian immediately turned off the TV and threw the remote control onto the couch. Why was Huo Siqian acting so high-profile recently? Did he have something to do with Qin Chu’s sudden request to divorce her?

She knew she couldn’t ask either of them directly because she wouldn’t be able to get any answers. He wasn’t someone who liked to tell the truth.

Qin Chu probably wouldn’t say anything either… He was too stubborn…

At this thought, Huo Mian picked up her tablet, opened Weibo and sent Su Yu a private message, ”Are you there?”

”I am.”

Su Yu was always there for her, whenever she needed him.

Truth be told, he didn’t like Weibo. However, he was willing to be on it for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. He never turned off his ringtone so even if he were asleep, he would still be able to hear notifications.

”I need help with something.”

”Sure.”

”I didn’t tell you what I needed yet.” Huo Mian was speechless; Su Yu agreed a little too fast…

”You’re only asking me because I can help you. If I can, I won’t refuse.”

”Do you grant whatever is requested to everyone?”

”What am I? A genie?” Su Yu asked after rolling his eyes, and Huo Mian couldn’t help but laugh.

Then, Su Yu added, ”Even if I am a genie, I only grant wishes to you.”

Upon reading this, Huo Mian stopped laughing and fell silent; she never knew how to respond to Su Yu when he was being all serious.

”Come on, what do you want? Stop wasting my time.” Su Yu changed the topic.

”I need you to help me investigate something.”

”What is it?”

”I need you to investigate Huo Siqian… I don’t know what I’m looking for, so I’m going to make this short. I suddenly have a feeling that Huo Siqian had something to do with Qin Chu and my divorce. I think he did something behind my back…”

”I see.”

”Mhm, if Qin Chu doesn’t want me to know, it must be something big and has to do with me… so I thought about it, and it seems like you’re the only one who can help me without Huo Siqian finding out.”

”Sure.”

”Thank you…”

”Don’t thank me. If I succeed, you owe me dinner.”

”Of course.” Huo Mian immediately agreed.

”If I don’t succeed, you still owe me dinner.”

”No problem.” Huo Mian smiled again.

Su Yu was always like that – domineering but cute.

After talking to Su Yu, Huo Mian felt much better. She didn’t insist on seeing Qin Chu anymore and regretted her recklessness the day before. She should’ve calmed down and thought things through first.

After taking a hot shower, Huo Mian fell asleep…

That evening, she felt like someone was staring at her. In her daze, she seemed to see someone standing by her bedside but couldn’t tell who it was.

”Mian… come back to me, I don’t want to wait for too long…”

The voice sounded deep and creepy, causing Huo Mian to wake up with a start.

To her surprise, her bedroom window was open…
