My Youth Began With Him

Qin Chu didn’t really like to be out in the spotlight, so originally, all he wanted to do was show up with Huo Mian and explain that they didn’t mean to deceive everyone with their undercover experience.

Thus, they didn’t really have a speech prepared beforehand.

However, he couldn’t exactly reject the principal after he passed him the mic.

So, he slowly took the mic, looked around, and said, “My academic career took up almost two decades of my life, and to me, my most memorable time was spent at Second High. In those three years, I met my wife, Huo Mian, and we experienced love and youth together. All thanks to that time, we became husband and wife all these years later…”

Huo Mian was a little moved. Clapping her hands, she looked at Qin Chu with tears in her eyes.

“In one’s life, the most painful things are not having what you want and losing what you want. I am lucky enough to have the most precious thing in my life. You’re all still young and might not understand what I am saying. But, as you grow older and meet someone you like, you’ll come to understand. I just want to tell you all something important, and that is to cherish what you have.”

After Qin Chu’s brief speech, he was met with thunderous applause.

“Principal, can you tell us what Mrs. Huo is doing now? Is it really true that she rejected Beijing University’s offer to stay in C City?”

A straight-A student from the student council couldn’t help but ask…

The principal looked at Huo Mian and got her permission before holding up the microphone and saying, “I believe that many of you are interested in Huo Mian, because she obtained the highest middle and high school entrance exam scores since the founding of the school a century ago. She is also the only one who chose to study locally instead of abroad or in Jing City. Now, with her permission, I’ll briefly walk you through her life after Second High.”

When he said that, all the students went dead silent since they were all very interested in the genius girl.

“After leaving Second High, she studied nursing at a local medical school…”

When the Principal said that, everyone was surprised…

How could the most talented genius that appeared in Second High choose nursing when she’s more than capable of taking on a profession that makes a lot more money?

“After graduating from nursing school, she was hired by the First Hospital as an intern at the OB/GYN Department.”

Everyone felt pity for her, and some even guessed that she was traumatized from breaking up with Qin Chu.

Then, the principal said, “But one time, a pregnant woman who had almost bled out when her water broke was brought to the First Hospital in the middle of the night. The doctor was absent, and Huo Mian made a shocking decision with a life on the line. With the assistance of her coworker, who was also a nurse, Huo Mian performed a C-section on the pregnant patient. Huo Mian worked both as the main surgeon and the anesthesiologist. The surgery was extremely successful, and both the mother and child are perfectly healthy to this day.”

“Oh my… That’s too cool… No wonder she’s a genius.” Some comments came from the eighth class, accompanied by clapping.

Huo Mian bit her lips and listened as the principal retold her life.

To be honest, this was her first time being put through such a situation. She was quite nervous.

Maybe he saw that she was feeling uncomfortable, Qin Chu extended his hand and squeezed hers, giving her encouragement.

The principal continued to say, “After that incident, she was made an exception to be promoted to an official employee. Later, she was transferred to South Side Recuperation Center to be a nurse in the Orthopedics Department and was later promoted to head nurse due to her excellent performance. Then, the hospital director’s relative was in a car crash, and none of the doctors could guarantee her safety since it was such a difficult surgery. Huo Mian acted as the main surgeon again and saved another mother and her daughter.”

The crowd was shocked once again…
