Global Lords: I Have Information System

In the big V reviews and discussions on Sina Weibo, drama and film studies PhD and film critic @OneMyRoad2010 commented: ”If the film is describing the continuous corruption and devouring of a person’s life from the external to the spiritual realm, then the film merely sketches out the basic storyline of the original novel at a shallow level.”

Compared to the complete restoration of the dialogue, the original work has a large amount of scene description which the film is difficult to convey to the audience intuitively, such as ”the roof was changed to a layer of ancient-style green glazed tiles,” ”etched iron bars were installed on the windows,” ”jade snuff bottle and ivory Guanyin statue were displayed on the stove platform, with a striped bamboo screen surrounding the sofa.”

Of course, one is a niche art film, the other is a sci-fi blockbuster, such a result is expected. But setting aside the film format, the presentation of the film ”The First Incense” is still not considered successful.

The director and screenwriter respect the original work greatly, gradually presenting the classic scenes from the original.

For example, the first scene of the character group portrait. Ge Weilong visits Madam Liang, asking for her support to attend school. Madam Liang says, ”Miss, you have thought of everything, except for me. Even if I am willing to help you, I cannot help with this favor. If your father found out, he would definitely accuse me of enticing well-bred young ladies.” Comparing with the original work, the elegant phrases are virtually unchanged, spoken by the actors.

”You all have worked hard, we will definitely come again.” On October 25, tourists stranded in the Central Guard due to the pandemic shouted words of gratitude to the staff while waving goodbye. On that day, tourists stranded in Ningxia due to the pandemic returned home separately from Central Guard City, Shizuishan City, and Lingwu City.

On October 19, affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, three tourist trains passing through Ejina Banner of Inner Mongolia were stranded in Ningxia for centralized isolation observation. Among them, over 600 tourists from pandemic risk areas detoured to Yinchuan for joint tours and were placed in 7 hotels in Lingwu City; 721 tourists from six provinces arriving at Shizuishan City by tourist train were properly arranged in multiple hotels; one tourist train passing through Inner Mongolia’s Ejina Banner arrived at Central Guard City, where more than 610 tourists were orderly placed in 5 hotels for nucleic acid testing.

To ensure service support for tourists stranded by three tourist trains, Shizuishan City, Central Guard City, and Lingwu City’s party committees and governments attached great importance, immediately held special meetings, and established task forces led by territorial managing leaders to specialize in serving the stranded tourists.

Reporters learned that 1943 tourists mainly from Guangdong, Hubei, Hunan, Shanxi, Beijing, and other provinces (regions, cities), primarily elderly tourists, were stranded; the oldest was 86 years old, and the youngest was only 2 years old. Though the northwest in late autumn showed first signs of chill, the enthusiasm of Ningxia locals warmed the stranded tourists. Among them, a visitor from Zhanjiang, Guangdong surnamed Chen, spoke thus: ”The relevant government departments, monitoring point managers, medical staff, police officers, hotel employees loyally stayed by our side day and night, delivering us hot meals, milk, eggs, and fruits daily, serving heartily and meticulously, treating us as more than family, deeply moving us.” To resolve shopping, medication issues for stranded tourists, Shizuishan City’s task force introduced temporary supply points at centralized isolation sites with New China Department Store supermarkets and Yi Kang Yuan pharmacies to solve urgent needs for tourists.

Details reflect warmth in Central Guard City, arranging staff to purchase toys for 2-year-old children, promptly delivering urgently needed medicine to the elderly, proactively delivering 2 boxes of milk to each room at the Shapotou Scenic Area; Da Wu Kou District of Shizuishan City presented 127 bouquets, handwritten blessing cards, and tourism promotion prints to stranded tourists, and reserved down jackets for them; Lingwu City arranged special staff to promptly understand meal tastes and meticulously improved them, offering special birthday greetings to four foreign tourists.

”I will definitely visit Ningxia again in the future, this time due to the pandemic many places were not reachable, a bit of regret. Next time, I will invite a few good friends to travel to Ningxia together.” To make up for visitors’ regrets, the Cultural and Tourism Department of the autonomous region, Tourism Association Scenic Area Branch initiated internal scenic areas to launch ”Warm Heart Card for Ningxia Tourism,” inviting 2013 stranded tourists to reunite next year at Sai Shang, play in the desert, enjoy beautiful scenery, taste delicacies, watch the starry sky, and give their soul a break!
