Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery

Chapter 2213: Chapter 2180: The Cataclysm Returns to the Endless Starry Sky

Four times as many Supremes, even more than that!

The many cultivators of the Supreme Great Sun Heavenly Palace present all trembled inwardly.

Even though they had known this intel long beforehand, when it was spoken aloud they still felt it was unbelievable—the numerical gap was simply too great.

Obviously both sides were True Immortal powers, so why was there such a disparity?

”Think back to the wars to unify the various Star Domains.”

Yuan’s tone was somewhat low as he said, ”In unifying the Sirius Star Domain, in unifying each Star Domain, how many Alien Race Eight Tribulation Venerable level forces did we wipe out? How many Eight Tribulation Venerables did that add up to?”

”That is the root of our current predicament.”

”In the future we will be stronger. Whether in the number of Supremes or their strength, we will far surpass the current True Dragon Destiny Immortal Dynasty. But not now. Right now we are in an enormous strategic disadvantage.”

”Our luck isn’t that good—we came into contact with another True Immortal power too early. Give it another several hundred thousand years and it definitely wouldn’t be like this.”

”Another reason is that the Ten Thousand Races are all different kinds of living beings, all excellent products of evolution. There will always be one or two races that naturally restrain us. That cannot be avoided.”

The hall fell silent.

The Fusang Saintess looked towards the many Supremes, seeking their opinions.

No Supreme voiced opposition to Yuan’s view.

”So that’s how it is...”

”Then this palace has wrongly blamed you.”

The Fusang Saintess’s voice grew gentle: ”In military matters, this palace knows little. I must ask you and all Fellow Daoists to join hearts and overcome this crisis together. Whatever support you require, this palace will certainly do its utmost to provide it and to coordinate it.”

”I hope that all of you will put the greater picture first.”

”Yes!”

”Your Highness!”

One Supreme after another rose and saluted.

The Fusang Holy Land’s Supremes—their prestige and status were acknowledged by all Supremes.

The existence of the Fusang Holy Land likewise had greatly eased the internal contradictions within the Supreme Great Sun Dao Court, acting as a lubricant for all the various organizations.

The military council continued.

The many Supremes discussed repeatedly, and then drafted a new operational plan.

”...Strengthen the Formation Methods throughout each Star Domain, grind them down again and again, delay and wait for change...”

”...The Taoist Court Science Academy is developing Magic specifically targeting the Ten Thousand Races army, and urgently requires the help of all you Supremes... Yin Yang Emperor Heaven is extremely adept in this direction; I wonder if we can obtain their support?”

”...Time is on our side...”

After the emergency meeting, the many Supremes rushed to all fronts to strengthen the military power in each region.

...

At the center of the Supreme Great Sun Heavenly Palace, the Supreme Great Sun Sword Fairy watched the war situation across the many Star Domains.

Things were not looking good.

Starting from the Sirius Star Domain, many Star Domains had begun to suffer defeats. Many Great Thousand World Clusters were lost; the mortals and cultivators who had multiplied and lived there were being annihilated and dying on a massive scale, incomparably brutal.

The armies of the True Dragon Destiny Immortal Dynasty were beginning to sweep across all directions, inflicting extremely severe damage on production between the Star Domains.

Many of the Supreme Great Sun Dao Court’s industrial chains had been destroyed, forcing them to look for new substitutes.

Affected by the war, Immortal Path productive forces in all aspects were declining.

This was the disadvantage of fighting on home soil.

The advantage was that they could rely on Formation Methods to strengthen themselves, and their ability to deploy troops, maneuver, and supply logistics was far stronger than the enemy’s.

”If we can drag this out, the war situation will gradually reverse.”

”If we cannot drag it out, the front will collapse...”

Jiang Ding said blandly.

Right now it was two True Immortal paths, two Immortal Dao Systems clashing—the outcome was hard to predict.

However, there was one thing.

Even if the armies of the Supreme Great Sun Dao Court were completely wiped out, he still would not be destined to fail. He would merely be facing an even stronger enemy and be forced to fight while at a disadvantage, that was all.

For the Supreme Great Sun Sword Fairy, the strongest, most decisive combat power had always only been his own sword!

”Hm?”

”This is... the aura of a Great Calamity?”

Suddenly, Jiang Ding abruptly looked towards one direction.

The Great Calamity.

This was something he had heard of back when he first arrived in the Perishing Immortal Realm. It appeared once every several tens of thousands of years, and once every over a million years there would be a concentrated eruption of calamity qi. The destruction of the previous generation’s many Immortal Sects in the Perishing Immortal Realm was related to this.

In fact, according to the Supreme Great Sun Dao Court’s current research, the Great Calamity did not only appear in the Perishing Immortal Realm; it appeared in many Great Thousand Worlds throughout the Endless Starry Sky, and the timing was almost the same periods. Each time it appeared, it would trigger the destruction and birth of many powers in the Endless Starry Sky.

But starting many years ago, the Great Calamity had no longer appeared.

According to top-secret research of the Supreme Great Sun Dao Court, the disappearance of the Great Calamity was related to the birth of a True Immortal at that time. After a True Immortal was born, the calamity qi would disperse, as if it had been severely disturbed, though the mechanism was unclear.

...

”The Great Calamity?”

”Ridiculous!”

”No more than a rotten corpse left over in history...”

Within the Ten Thousand Dragons Imperial Hall, the Destiny True Dragon Son and the Supreme Great Sun Sword Fairy simultaneously looked towards one direction and spoke indifferently.

It was somewhere within the Sirius Star Domain.

At a time when the two True Immortals were locked in confrontation and had no spare energy, some putrid thing had come out once more to stir up wind and waves.

...

Sirius Star Domain.

The Human Race army had collapsed and fallen back to the rear, while the Ten Thousand Races army advanced triumphantly, occupying many Great Thousand Worlds, laying down Formation Methods, stabilizing the rear, and then advancing again, once more pushing the front line into what had once been the enemy’s rear.

On one battlefield, countless Star Sky Cockroaches of the Ten Thousand Races army, many True Dragon Venerables, and many Human Race Supremes joined forces to besiege a Great Thousand World, battering its World Array until it swayed violently, the Formation Method wavering unsteadily.

It was not until a swath of dazzling orbital Destruction Cannons suddenly appeared on the horizon and unleashed a simultaneous volley, abruptly blasting apart large swaths of the army and many Supremes, that the assault here was finally cut off.

”Not good!”

”It’s the Sword Immortal’s Imperial Guards! The Ghost Destruction Fleet!”

The faces of the many Supremes of the Ten Thousand Races changed; they fled in all directions, then abruptly exploded in speed, charging towards that Deep Space Fleet which had suddenly appeared in the distance.

The Ten Great Deep Space Ghost Destruction Fleets!

These were a terrifying combat force in the Dragon Court’s intelligence reports, the Sect fleets of the Sword Immortal, famed for Concealment, high mobility, high lethality, and extremely keen reconnaissance. They always appeared out of nowhere, launched long-range sneak attacks and bombardments, then slunk away like ghosts. There was no defense against them; even after many carefully laid traps, they still could not be caught.

Divination was completely useless; even the True Dragon Emperor’s calculations were meaningless.

The clash of the two True Immortals had completely obscured Cause and Effect and destiny; the previously omnipotent predictive lock-ons were now largely ineffective.

The many Supremes of the Ten Thousand Races pursued for a time, gaining nothing, and in helplessness could only cautiously resume their assault on the Great Thousand World.

On this battlefield, countless Lives were perishing—of the Human Race, of the Dragon Clan, of the Ten Thousand Races.

No Supreme noticed that, at some unknown time, a vortex like a sea of blood had appeared in the sky.

This blood-sea vortex radiated a terrifying pull, greedily devouring the Life essence that was scattering from the countless Lives perishing on the battlefield, gulping and swallowing as it drew these fresh, searing Life essences into its belly.

Not just here in Sirius—such blood-sea vortices had appeared on battlefields everywhere that Life was being extinguished.
