Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery

A bloody and brutal chase to the north began.

Following the escape of the Ice Phoenix Demon Monarch, the Demon Race Imperial Guards instantly collapsed, and then the two major royal demon armies of the Tu Shan Maiden Corps also disintegrated on the spot.

The tribal chiefs abandoned their followers, the Demon Monarchs abandoned the Demon Kings, the Demon Kings abandoned the Demon Generals, fathers abandoned their offspring, burning Essence Blood, everything fell into disarray as the demon cultivators fled frantically in all directions.

”Kill!”

”Kill! Kill! Kill!”

However, the three major armies of Tu Shan did not fall into the slightest disorder, still maintaining their tight army formations.

Winds, rain, thunder, lightning, and Sword Qi, intense Sun Sword Qi, and swarms of Great Sun Blaze were continuously thrown into the thickest crowds of demon cultivators.

Each army’s magic would clear a large swath of sky with every strike, with the demon cultivators’ limbs and severed arms continuously falling, turning ash or into charred remains.

In the sky, continual blood rain turned the world a shade of crimson.

In this brief moment, the casualties numbered in the hundreds of thousands, exceeding the total casualties of all previous battles combined!

”Kill!”

However, such a hellish and bloody scene did not move any of the human cultivators.

Every soldier here was at least of the Foundation Establishment Realm, a figure that could be called an ancestor in small families, none of them young anymore, all having experienced many things, not green recruits to the battlefield.

They executed the army formation commands mechanically and accurately; the army formations operated, with Sword Qi after Sword Qi flying out, Great Sun Blazes being launched again and again in relentless bombardment, seemingly without end.

The heavens and earth were engulfed in terrible roaring and trembling, the land and mountains kept shaking until even the Northern Capital’s Heavenly Demon Slaying Divine Formation, without demon cultivators to execute it, collapsed, breaking apart and losing its last layer of defence.

Magic and Sword Qi exploded as if covering the sky and the earth, while the turbulent Heavenly Earth Spiritual Qi slowly settled.

Many human cultivators were then able to spare some attention to look up into the sky.

They suddenly discovered that the sky was clear and empty, no longer filled with any flying, scaled and armored demon cultivators.

In their place, on the ground lay millions of corpses, with blood flowing into rivers, the earth dyed crimson, looking very much like a hell on earth.

The elite army of the Western Desert Demon Race that invaded Northern Plains,

Most were buried here!

”Disperse, continue the pursuit by camp units!”

Hei Louxi ordered.

”Yes!”

”Army Master!”

A million human cultivators roared in response, not falling into the scramble for spoils that many demon cultivators had anticipated, nor fighting to the death over the Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasures in the Northern Capital of the Demon Race that turned people green with envy.

This was exceedingly common among the Northern Plains cultivators of the past.

Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasures meant breaking through realms, extending life, family honor, they meant everything, and no cultivator could resist.

But at this moment, countless human cultivators solemnly obeyed, instantaneously splitting from the three major army formations into countless small camps, centered around a Nascent Soul Monk each, with their speed greatly increased as they pursued the fortunate escaping demon cultivators, chasing down Demon Monarchs and Demon Kings who had miraculously escaped into the sky.

The occasional cultivator who couldn’t control their greed and turned back to pilfer the spoils of the Northern Capital of the Demon Race was immediately executed by a higher-ranking officer nearby.

Those higher-ranking officers who couldn’t contain their greed were surrounded and killed by nearby officers and their own subordinates, causing almost no chaos, quickly returning to an orderly state.

”A Demon Monarch! The head of a Demon Monarch!”

”Kill!”

Human Nascent Soul Monks one by one reddened their eyes, desperately pursuing and killing all the fleeing Demon Monarchs of the Demon Race, especially those from the Turtle, Spider, and Stone People Races with slower speeds; they were the prime targets.

The most frenzied among the pursuers were undoubtedly the Sword Cultivators from the Great Sun Longsword Metropolis, as this concerned their Dao.

Next were the True Lords from clans like the Yin Dao; they needed the heads of Demon Monarchs to atone for their sins, for without them, they would surely be executed by the Heavenly Monarch after a hundred years and stand no chance of a lucky survival.

To slay a Demon Monarch, there was no better opportunity than now, with all the Demon Monarchs filled with trepidation and bereft of the will to fight.

Missing this God-given opportunity, their deaths in a hundred years would be no one’s fault but their own!

On the battlefield, there often appeared a peculiar sight where a Human Immortal of Nascent Soul, accompanied by a Cultivator Camp, cornered a group of Demon Monarchs and, without uttering a second word, struck at the slowest-moving among them. The other Demon Monarchs took the chance to flee for their lives, not daring to linger for a moment.

For the slightest delay might lead to dozens of Human Race True Lords, leading their Cultivator Camps, to surge forth and kill.

Not to mention that the Demon Race consists of different clans, and it’s impossible for them to sacrifice themselves for another demon - even if they were willing, any delay would result in instantaneous total annihilation, leaving no room for accidents.

A tragic and blood-soaked pursuit unfolded across tens of thousands of miles of the grassland, with Demon Monarchs chased down, surrounded, and killed, unable to even let their Divine Souls escape.

The once-proud sturdy bodies of the Demon Cultivators now became a burden, nowhere near as suitable for escaping as the Human True Lords’ Nascent Souls, which could cover thousands of miles in an instant.

No matter how strong their physical form, being besieged by dozens of peers meant they were destined to be shattered to pieces. The exultant Human Race True Lords gathered their remains with more joy than they would finding a pile of Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasures.

This extensive pursuit lasted for about a year before it slowly came to an end, leaving the high-ranking cultivators of the Demon Race with a heap of dead bodies, almost entirely retreating from the Northern Plains, leaving only the weaker members of their race behind.

Their fate was self-evident.

The Ice Phoenix Demon Monarch, however, safely returned to the side of the Ice Field Heavenly Monarch.

The Human Race True Lords have always been exceedingly intelligent.

Aside from the crazed Sword Cultivators, it was rare for True Lords to relentlessly pursue the offspring of a Demon Race Tianjun, to avoid attracting unknown disasters.

However, this doesn’t mean the Ice Phoenix Demon Monarch could do whatever she pleased, leveraging her identity.

Once she dared to show herself openly, even if with reservation, Human Race True Lords would deploy a great formation to encircle and cleanly eliminate her, leaving no room for sentiment.

The Heavenly Monarchs of the Demon Race are indeed formidable, but neither are the Human Race’s Heavenly Monarchs merciful, allowing you to defy orders on the battlefield and fish in troubled waters.

”Mother, please.”

”Can’t you take covert action just once, the Old Rogue of Mount Tu won’t notice...”

The Ice Phoenix Demon Monarch, unwilling to accept this, pleaded.

This was her foundation, the empire she painstakingly built for the Demon Race, into which she poured an unimaginable amount of Heart Blood. She had always taken pride in this, believing that regardless of Divinity Transformation, the strength of the Western Desert Demon Race Dynasty was the greatest of all time.

Yet, reality was so cold and cruel.

”Covert action just once…”

The Ice Field Heavenly Monarch felt the faint, omnipresent aura of the Sword Intent of Destruction and laughed coldly.

She knew that the Human Race’s Heavenly Monarch was also hesitating.

In terms of potential for Divinity Transformation, currently, no one from the Human Race could match the Ice Phoenix Demon Monarch. A barely discernible Sword Intent had already left its mark on her, locking onto her aura.

This foolish daughter of hers knew nothing and was pleading for her mother to take covert action just once.

”Go back!”

The Ice Field Heavenly Monarch sighed, ”Humans are a greedy species. The Western Desert won’t be peaceful from now on. You better consider how to deal with the impending attacks.”

With that, she took the Ice Phoenix Demon Monarch and left.
