Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery

”The technology requirements for cultivation... is that too much to ask?”

Jiang Ding scratched his head.

He had understood the meaning.

The research funding that was applied for couldn’t possibly be used for individual purposes like buying elixirs, renting high-order spiritual veins, or crafting artifacts. Anyone who dared to do so would be sent straight to prison.

However, the specific direction of research that the funds are used for can be decided.

”Sorry, then, should we let it go?”

Zhang Junsheng hesitated.

”How can we let it go?!”

Jiang Ding’s expression changed as he spoke seriously, ”Teacher, the ’Great Sun Sword Cultivation Method’ is the core of the Great Sun Sword Pavilion, and those who succeed in cultivating it are the living core of the Pavilion. No matter how much scientific research is invested in it, it’s all worthwhile, greatly beneficial to the Xianmen Sect.”

”Indeed, indeed, you have a point there.”

Zhang Junsheng dropped the pretense of hesitation, admiringly saying, ”You indeed think and behave almost flawlessly, unlike us in the technical sciences with our rigid minds.”

”Enough with the small talk. If you have any difficulties with cultivation, specifically in research for the Immortal Path, tell me.”

”I need an electromagnetic sword technique.”

”Preferably one that matches the level of the ’Great Solar Sword Escape Technique.’ Even if it’s not perfect, the level can’t be too different.”

Jiang Ding didn’t dare to make any more polite refusals and quickly continued, ”Also, about core formation, I originally thought my process would be like any other cultivator’s in the Xianmen—smooth cultivation would suffice. But a few days ago, I was hit by an Internal Demon Tribulation.”

”I suspect that the Sword of Dao Foundation formed by the ’Great Sun Sword Cultivation Method’ may have some differences when merging with the golden core, and this needs to be resolved.”

”It would have been great if a high-ranking cultivator of the Great Sun Sword Cultivation had survived.”

Jiang Ding couldn’t help but express his regret. ”Such knowledge was probably common sense for them, not anything prized. How much essence of sword tech, how many generations of sword cultivators’ research achievements have vanished into thin air under the forbidden nuclear bombs.”

”That’s true.”

”But keep such talk within our field, be mindful to keep your mouth shut once outside.”

Zhang Junsheng reminded him.

”I know, I know.”

Jiang Ding nodded solemnly, not daring to ignore this advice.

Many of the old-timers had deep hatred against the Great Sun Sword Pavilion, with classmates, parents, spouses, and children all perishing at their hands, they couldn’t stand such talk.

”Just these two requests, you have offense and mobility, don’t you need some sort of defensive magic like a sword barrier?”

Zhang Junsheng asked again.

”No need.”

Jiang Ding flatly refused, ”I don’t need defensive magic. If there’s any danger, I will just cut it down. If there’s spare capacity, we could consider developing a sword concealment spell.”

Zhang Junsheng was startled and scrutinized the young man in front of him.

It was only now that he began to display a hint of the extremism and madness typical of sword cultivators, fundamentally different from other cultivators’ pursuit of eternal life and cautious principles.

Dari Swordsman.

Known as the sword cultivator among sword cultivators, the heretic among heretics, taken to an even crazier extreme, sparing no effort.

After a while, he came back to his senses.

”Electromagnetic Sword Technique.”

”If it’s just the top of the second order, our team can work overtime and set other things aside. We should be able to develop it for you within twenty-five years. We’ve been researching the Great Sun Swordsmanship for so many years, we have that much capability.”

”With the name of Dari Swordsman, we can also publish a decent article, adding some experience to your fellow disciples’ resumes.”

”As for the core formation, your instincts are not wrong.”

Zhang Junsheng pondered for a moment: ”The legacy of the Dari Swordsman, even within the Great Sun Sword Pavilion, was extremely crazy and terrifying. Other cultivators seek to ingest a golden pill, to merge the primordial as one, cultivating both nature and life, at most creating a sword-based golden pill. But they, they... ”

He paused, seemingly at a loss for words to describe such a foolhardy act.

”They completely melt their golden pill with their life flying sword.”

”Fusion Golden Core?”

Jiang Ding’s expression changed.

As far as he knew, a human’s Golden Pill was an extremely fragile thing, not to mention attacking with it.

Even if the mana inside the body vibrated too violently, it could potentially damage it, cutting off one’s path of cultivation forever!

”Yes, I don’t know if their heads are hollow or what.”

Zhang Junsheng confirmed, ”I guess it must be because monsters often use their Inner Cores to attack and usually don’t need much refinement to exert great power. Such natural phenomena in the cultivation world must have inspired them, and they actually managed to succeed in the end.”

”I really don’t know how many sword cultivators died before the first generation of the Dari Swordsman was born, and for how many tens of thousands of years they have been dying consistently.”

”Towards the later stages, I even suspect that they would incorporate their Divine Souls, Nascent Souls, flesh, and everything else that could potentially strengthen a Flying Sword into it, completely indifferent to whether the sword sustained any damage, they themselves would just die instantly.”

He described a dreadful scene.

”Really?”

Jiang Ding’s face turned deathly pale, his eyes filled with shock and fear.

”Let’s not worry about what comes later, let’s get the Core Formation done first,” Zhang Junsheng waved his hand, ”If you can form your core, and display your value on the battlefield, we can apply for more research funding. It’s even possible to get several departments of the Xianmen Science Institute running around doing errands for us.”

”In the Great Sun World, inside the Great Sun Heavenly Pond of my original body, it seems there might be some remnants of an incomplete Core Formation legacy... Within a hundred years, I’ll try to get you a Core Formation secret technique of the Great Sun Swordsmanship with the electromagnetic system within a hundred years. If there’s a research need, I’ll let you know.”

”Be prepared though, it’s not going to be as perfect as the original from the Great Sun Sword Pavilion. Their secret technique for Core Formation isn’t suitable for your current cultivation method, ’All-transforming Magnetic Origin Sutra’, and the risks of Core Formation will definitely be much greater than those of a normally developed Dari Swordsman.”

”During Core Formation, try to keep as much margin for error as possible.”

He advised, not hiding anything.

”Understood.”

Jiang Ding took a deep breath.

This is the disadvantage of having an incomplete legacy and the reason why many predecessors are not optimistic about the path of Great Sun Swordsmanship; there are massive objective obstacles.

Dari Swordsman.

Only within the perfectly inherited Great Sun Sword Pavilion could one qualify to be called a Dari Swordsman. Otherwise, there was a great probability of becoming indistinguishable from the masses.

Next, he and his teacher, along with his fellow apprentices, held an enthusiastic exchange event on Great Sun Swordsmanship and electromagnetic Sword Escaping.

Both parties were satisfied, seemingly gaining a lot from the experience.

Although most of the time, it was the senior apprentices asking questions, making records, and then him providing the answers.

Occasionally, someone would take out equipment the size of a house from their Storage Treasures, extending their Divine Sense and mana, scanning him back and forth, and jotting down notes on the Jade Slip.

”Jiang classmate, when mana flows through the 475th meridian cluster of the Lung Channel of Hand Taiyin like this structure, remember to do it slowly, occasionally a bit faster...”

A senior apprentice sister said excitedly.

”Senior sister, don’t speak such confusing and weird words,” Jiang Ding frowned.

He originally didn’t want to agree to their meddling.

He disliked the feeling of others’ Divine Sense walking around inside his body.

But they said it was related to the development of the Second-Order Electromagnetic Sword Escape and the research of the Core Formation secret technique, needing to collect detailed body and mana data, their expressions earnest and serious.

”Alright then.”

He finally compromised.

He operated his mana according to the structure given by the senior sister.

More than ten days later,

Everything was done.

An utterly drained Jiang Ding walked out of the area marked with scorched yellow leaves and ran away without looking back.
