Bombarding Cultivators with Cluster Artillery

After reviewing the data,

all the high-level cultivators fell into a stunned silence.

”Are you really sure this isn’t the remnant soul of some old freak from the Great Sun Sword Pavilion that didn’t die off completely?”

Someone couldn’t help but ask.

”It’s just too similar, practically the very sword of the Dari Swordsman.”

”How on earth did such a peculiar thing come into existence in the Xianmen Sect?”

”If I encountered it in the Outer Realm, I’d be scared that I couldn’t help myself from wiping it out with one blast from thousands of kilometers away.”

The many high-level cultivators were commenting one after another, all bearing a look of disbelief.

”It’s best if he reports his outings, informing the nearby high-level cultivators, especially those old cultivators who went through the previous generations’ bloody wars, lest a tragedy occurs due to an instinctual reaction.”

”But to be fair, he really is strong; he can beat down a Golden Pill being in the mid-stage Foundation Building.”

The president of Beidou University, Immortal Liexing, made a fair comment.

”When he reaches the Nascent Soul Realm, don’t talk about blasting him away, if you can withstand one of his moves without dying, you can come back and brag.”

”That’s difficult, as Xianmen doesn’t have a system to nurture a Dari Swordsman, he can only rely on himself... It’s a pity that back then, we didn’t think to capture any prisoners, they all turned to ash.”

Many high-level cultivators shook their heads.

”Ahem, the situation is as such,”

Immortal Dinghai coughed, bringing everyone’s attention back to the main topic of the meeting.

”The birth of such a being is precisely the result of our mining the Great Sun Sword Pavilion’s heritage. As one of the Nine Great Immortal Sects, and one of the strongest at that, we’ve utilized the heritage of the Great Sun Sword Pavilion far too meagerly,”

he said passionately.

”I propose that for the next century, we designate the research and utilization of Great Sun Swordsmanship as a strategic level project for Xianmen, investing at least one hundred billion low-grade Spirit Stones and one billion library points.”

”This will mobilize the major universities and research institutes of Xianmen, coupled with civilian research efforts, to jointly participate and accelerate the enhancement of Xianmen’s foundation in sword dao research.”

A chilly silence ensued.

The Nascent Soul Monks widened their eyes in disbelief, looking at him.

”Opposed.”

”Opposed, sword dao has not yet reached strategic level significance for Xianmen.”

”Currently, society has only seen a single exception, and others who have comprehended Sword Intent are very, very few. To call this a strategic initiative for Xianmen is ludicrous.”

”Immortal Dinghai, isn’t Zhang Junsheng one of your dormitory brothers? To go so far for funding, you’ve even cast aside your dignity!”

”...”

The objections were overwhelming, with even representatives of Nascent Soul Cultivators personally stepping forward to express their disapproval.

This was a struggle for interests.

Xianmen’s annual research funding was fixed.

With just a few words, he wanted to take away one hundred billion low-grade Spirit Stones and one billion library points. Were the researchers of other projects supposed to survive on air for the next century?

They all had whole families to support, and their own cultivation to maintain.

How could they concede?

Besides, they did not accept the reasoning Immortal Dinghai had provided.

The foundation of sword dao within Xianmen was simply too weak to merit the term ”strategic.”

Immortal Dinghai, unable to say it himself, gave a look to the president of Beidou University, Immortal Liexing.

”The term ’strategic’ is certainly clear and beyond doubt!”

Immortal Liexing used a magic to suppress the voices around him and draw their attention to himself, ”The Dari Swordsman! What is the Dari Swordsman?”

”The strongest of the Great Sun Sword Pavilion are born among the Dari Swordsmen, with very few exceptions. That is to say, in the future, thousands to tens of thousands of years from now, we may possibly harvest...”

”A Great Sun Sword Master!!!”

Immortal Liexing’s eyes shone with fervor, ”Just think about it, back then, a single Great Sun Sword Master was enough to make the Eight Immortal Sects afraid to leave their homes. What would it mean if a Great Sun Sword Master were born within Xianmen Sect?”

”Invincible! Invincible!”

”Brothers and sisters!”

”Imagine that glorious moment when the fleets of Xianmen Sect could freely sail across every domain known to us, taking what they want, with Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasures from all realms converging upon Xianmen Sect, and people from all realms ending their wars to live a happy life.”

”Those of you here, if you’re still alive when that happens, and if your wealth doesn’t increase tenfold, if the chances of obtaining a Divine Transformation Opportunity don’t increase tenfold, feel free to come to me for reimbursement!”

He vividly painted a grand vision of the future.

”This sounds good.”

The crowd was captivated by his words and indulged in the wonderful fantasy of resources from all realms converging onto Xianmen Sect.

Then they calmed down.

”It’s true that the future prospects are boundless, but it would initially require an investment of one hundred billion Low-grade Spirit Stones, right?”

The Head of Xianmen Science Institute, Immortal Count Spirit, shook his head and objected.

”One hundred billion Low-grade Spirit Stones may seem like a lot, but investing in the study of Great Sun Swordsmanship, an area in which Xianmen Sect is not proficient—I must say plainly, it would hardly make a splash.”

”Even though they are our enemies, we must admit that the Sword Dao is as deep as the ocean and as vast as the starry sky, having once given rise to a dominator who pressured the entire domain.”

”Let alone one hundred billion Low-grade Spirit Stones, even if the whole of Xianmen Sect were to invest, it’s unlikely that we would achieve major breakthroughs in this foreign field.”

His words brought more people back to their senses.

”Indeed... the future is bright without limit, and if he were born in the Great Sun Sword Pavilion, at the Golden Pill, Nascent Soul, Divinity Transformation, Refining Nothingness, at each step, every hurdle would have been smoothed over by predecessors, and he would only need to advance based on his own aptitude and talent.”

”Although there’s a chance that a forbidden nuclear weapon might land on his head.”

”But at Xianmen Sect, each of these steps, each hurdle, hasn’t been smoothed over by anyone; each step is fraught with pitfalls, and logically, the chances of successfully becoming the Great Sun Sword Master are very slim.”

Someone sighed softly.

If there really was great hope, they would not be averse to abandoning their immediate interests, changing professions, and switching research projects.

But the cold mathematics and reality were just so.

”Voting is underway...”

The voice of the Array Spirit came, quickly announcing the results.

”2.21%, ’Great Sun Swordsmanship Research Project Proposal (Strategic Level),’ not approved.”

”The next project for consideration, the proposal by Immortal Count Spirit, ’Array Spirit Automation Production and Combat, the 2547th Study’...”

”Wait, I have something more!”

Immortal Dinghai interrupted the moderator.

”Please wait a moment.”

The moderator looked puzzled but still took the document that was passed over.

”The third proposal from Immortal Dinghai, ’Great Sun Swordsmanship Research Project Proposal (Urban Level),’ which requires an investment of five billion Low-grade Spirit Stones and fifty million library points, mobilizing parts of the research institutions, to explore potential discoveries about Great Sun Swordsmanship during the foundation building, Golden Pellet Realm stages.”

”It’s still the same topic...”

Many Nascent Soul Monks frowned.

”Esteemed ones!”

Immortal Liexing once again began to utilize his megaphone function.

”The Dari Swordsman, the future Great Sun Sword Master!”

”Even if the chances of his future achievement are indeed very slim, who can deny that this possibility exists, right?”

He surveyed the meeting room in a circle.

No one spoke out to contradict him.

”Even if it’s just for this title, in the next hundred years, an investment of a mere five billion Low-grade Spirit Stones, fifty million library points, I believe, is totally worth it!”

”Your thoughts, esteemed ones?”
