The Martial Unity

VMMMM!!!

A powerful laser beam charged towards the warpship, threatening to eviscerate it where it stood.

Yet it wasn’t alone anymore. It had protection.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!

A powerful defensive ship protected the warpship from the destructively intense laser beam. The ship was shaped like a turtle shell, protected not just with the powerful structure of the ship, thanks to dwarven craftsmanship, but also with powerful energy shields that absorbed most of the energy of the laser.

Meanwhile, the warpship itself began to rapidly move, accelerating as it warped the fabric of space and time with its negatron warp drive to rapidly course through space itself, taking the massive wormhole with it. This maneuver allowed it to ensure that all of the forces entering Sirius from the Solar System were spread out as it moved through space, revolving around the entire planet at a high speed with a warp drive. It was like spreading butter across toast, except here, the spreading was being done in the vicinity of the target planet.

WHOOOSH!

As it revolved around the planet at a high speed, countless ships continued embarking from the portal, being neatly arranged in a single continuous line even as the warpship began to circle across the gargantian at a high speed, dragging along with it the portal end.

This had been the strategy from the very start.

If the Gaian space army simply charged at Garg from a distance, then it would be sieged by an ungodly tsunami of lasers from the gargantian long before they could ever reach the planet.

But if they utilized a warpship to open a portal, using the power of the Emperor of Water, then they could be projected up close to the gargantian from afar.

WHOOSH!

The warpship revolved around the gargantian, every inch it covered was covered in a thick, dense army of warships. The single warpship had become an opening point to ensure that the entirety of the Gaian space army was exactly where it needed to be.

“ATTACK!” “FIRE!”

“Lay siege upon the target!”

The fleet carriers, battleships, and battle cruisers began unleashing a truly astronomical onslaught of destruction upon the gargantian. From within the depths of the powerful ships, the pathwalkers were unleashed, contributing to the unfurling destruction that washed over the exotic conscious planet.

It had no choice but to defend itself.

And to retaliate against those who had aggressed upon it.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The planet shook with power as its surface began glowing once more, growing hotter and hotter as it mobilized even more power, unleashing an onslaught of lasers that struck countless ships.

However, because the ships were spread out over a much larger area, the destructive energy of its lasers was significantly diluted, inflicting less damage across countless warships than it would have if it had concentrated its power.

BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM BOOOOOM!!!!!

“Floral energy absorption systems activated!” “Redirecting energy to the shared energy system.”

“Commencing counter-attack!”

The elves and their biotechnology were refitted with cutting-edge photo-absorption technology, enabling them to absorb lasers with great ease. They had considered phasing the technology out when it had proven to be useless against the laminars, who used much higher technology, but it was thankfully still effective against the gargantian, which relied more on its scale of destruction than its actual power.

Meanwhile, the warpship made use of the cover that the existing warships provided it, using it to bring in even more and more warships that funneled through the wormhole at an incredible rate despite the limited throughput. Back in the Solar System, Rui watched with a satisfied expression as he saw how the battleships smoothly moved through the wormhole he created.

WHOOSH

It wasn’t long before the final fleet moved through the Interstellar Gate, emerging on the other side.

And yet, he didn’t close the wormhole.

He kept it open with his Transcendent might, allowing the wormhole to serve as the throughput through which energy could be transmitted remotely through an invisible flux of gamma radiation emerging from the space stations of the world, captured by ships on the other end, allowing them to access the energy of human civilization.

“Good luck. The future of human civilization depends on the outcome of this battle.”

The battle raged on with great intensity as the gargantian unleashed a highly diluted and thin onslaught of lasers as it began ravaging their ships.

And yet, they were prepared.

The defenses held. The calculation performed based on gathered data and extrapolations of what a sustained onslaught would look like based on energy estimates from thermal scans of the planet turned out to be remarkably accurate.

The energy shields bled off most of the energy from the planet while the sturdy hulls and armor of the various ships began to experience dents, melting, scraps, and a slow erosion. However, they weren’t merely being attacked.

No.

VMMMMM!!!

The mounted laser gun turrets on each warship unleashed powerful laser beams that streaked across the vacuum of outer space, hurtling towards the gargantian at the speed of light. And yet, the attacks didn’t cause massive damage to the conscious lifeform.

No.

They were divergent beams such that the laser beams themselves spread out more and more grew wider and wider until it was diluted across the entirety of the surface of the gargantian.

It was too diluted to cause any kind of material damage.

And that was exactly what they wanted.

The goal was not to destroy the gargantian.

The goal was to incapacitate it.

And their intel-gathering missions had pointed them to one solution.

“Keep heating it!”

“Don’t let up!”

“We need to make sure that the planet heats up to the limit!”

The information gathered by Pioneer VIII and the analysis conducted by the Gaian Alliance had come to the conclusion that the thermal ‘heartbeat’ of the conscious planet wasn’t physiologically comparable to the purpose of the human heartbeat.

The reason that the planet generated energy in the depths of its body through nuclear fusion in heartbeats was likely because if it sustained the nuclear fusion for longer than a heartbeat, it would overheat too fast. They realized that every time the core of the planet heats up with signatures resembling nuclear fusion, the temperature of the planet would rise, and the planet would radiate away that heat to cool down, causing it to flare up on an infrared scan.

From that, they deduced it had a strict heat limit.
