You're Put to Survival in the Wilderness, and the Animals Build You a Villa?

5: Chapter 5: Building the Camp! Everyone Questions It!Although it was unexpected, An Ke didn’t think much of it.

More tasks meant more rewards later.

Besides, even if the national fortune system didn’t issue any tasks...

He still had to consider building a camp; it was the first step of wilderness survival.

To have a place that could provide shelter from the wind and rain.

Building a camp was an extremely meticulous process; one couldn’t just pick any random spot, as various factors had to be considered comprehensively.

However, for An Ke, who possessed top-tier wilderness survival skills, this was only a minor issue.

A camp must be built on high ground.

This way, water wouldn’t accumulate easily, and if the ground stayed dry, one could sleep more comfortably.

In the wilderness, one’s mental state is very important.

An Ke stroked his chin, thinking to himself.

Once the thought occurred, An Ke immediately took action.

The best location for a camp was naturally near a water source, so he searched around the stream.

Looking for level ground.

In the live broadcast room, the audience watched An Ke’s actions and began to speculate.

In the program, Coach Zhao, wanting to regain his lost face...

...took the lead in analyzing the situation.

”If water is the foundation, then food is the fuel.”

”Now that the water issue is resolved, the first thing to consider is naturally food.”

”I hope student An Ke can successfully find some prey!”

Coach Zhao smiled earnestly. After repeated confirmation, he was certain An Ke was looking for prey.

He was confident he wouldn’t be wrong this time.

He only had to wait for the answer to be revealed to regain the face he had just lost.

In the live broadcast room, everyone felt Coach Zhao’s analysis made sense.

An Ke must be looking for prey now, planning to make a sumptuous dinner.

”Hahaha! Food is the first necessity of the people. An Ke has walked so far; he must be starving!”

”Poor Ke Ke, my heart aches for him~”

”...”

As soon as An Ke entered the National Fortune Wilderness Game, he made a remarkable contribution to the country, bringing pride to the people and heavily slapping the faces of countries like the Lighthouse Country and Kimchi Country.

Combined with his handsome appearance, he naturally became the darling of many young girls’ hearts.

The Foreigners who had just been face-slapped immediately jumped out, wanting to reclaim their ground.

A Foreigner from the Lighthouse Country sneered, ”He doesn’t have any tools, just a stick, and he wants to catch prey?”

”Exactly!” a Foreigner from the Wa Country quickly chimed in.

”The contestant from our Lighthouse Father’s country discovered a coconut tree and will soon be drinking delicious coconut water.”

”It can fill the stomach and replenish fluids.”

Dragon Country audience members couldn’t take it anymore.

”Wait! What does the contestant from the Lighthouse Country have to do with you Wa Country people?”

”Your so-called expert contestant from the Wa Country still hasn’t found anything yet.”

”After licking for so long, you’ve really turned into a dog.”

”Hahaha! I’m dying of laughter! Everyone, I just came back from the Lighthouse Country contestant’s live broadcast room.”

”That contestant probably won’t eat a coconut for the rest of his life!”

”What’s the situation? Tell us more!”

”Go see for yourselves and you’ll know, it’s hilarious...”

Instantly, the Dragon Country audience flooded into the Lighthouse Country contestant’s live broadcast room.

As soon as they entered, they saw the Lighthouse Country contestant fall onto his butt on the beach, then shout, ”oh! yes! yes!”

”???”

On An Ke’s side, he naturally didn’t know that the live broadcast rooms of various countries in the real world had turned into a battlefield.

He circled along the stream for a while.

He soon found his ideal building site.

Using top-tier wilderness survival knowledge, An Ke quickly determined where the high-water mark of the stream was.

The ideal site was above the high-water mark and backed against a mountain.

”Good level ground,” An Ke praised in his heart as he reached the spot.

He didn’t waste a single second and cleared the ground.

Next, An Ke began to work on some nearby small trees.

The small trees An Ke chose didn’t require an axe; he only needed to use clever force to snap them, making them excellent materials for a foundation.

Besides the trunks, there were leaves for moisture-proofing and vines for binding.

In a tropical jungle, vines were not hard to find.

Now, anyone who wasn’t blind could see that An Ke wasn’t trying to catch prey; he was clearly looking for level ground to build a camp.

In the program, Kang Hui, Liu Yifei, and the others all looked at Coach Zhao.

Coach Zhao felt terrible; he had gotten it wrong again!

His face flushed red as he said crossly, ”An Ke is being too foolish.”

”Instead of wasting time building a camp, he should spend it looking for prey.”

”In the wild, prey isn’t that easy to find!”

However, as soon as he finished speaking, he saw An Ke effortlessly catch a fish.

Coach Zhao was dumbfounded, his mouth hanging slightly open.

He clearly saw the fish actively swim into An Ke’s hand.

What was going on? Why did this happen? It was unscientific!

However, this time, Liu Yifei and the others, as well as the audience in the live broadcast room, were not focused on Professor Zhao being face-slapped again.

Because everyone was bewildered and didn’t understand what was happening.

Sa Beining, whether joking or not, muttered, ”Does nature care about looks too?”

Nature naturally doesn’t care about looks; An Ke was able to do this entirely because of his Power of Natural Affinity.

It was worth mentioning that while An Ke was in nature, the experience points for Power of Natural Affinity were constantly increasing.

In addition, other proficiencies were also growing.

For example: [Collection Proficiency], [Crafting Proficiency], etc.

As his proficiency rose rapidly, An Ke’s gathering and crafting speeds became faster and faster.

In just half an hour, a simple shack began to take shape.

[Construction Proficiency +3, Construction Proficiency +3...]

While building the shack, system prompts kept ringing in An Ke’s mind.

This made his shack-building techniques increasingly skillful, shocking everyone in the live broadcast room.

”Holy crap! Could student An Ke be an outdoor camping enthusiast?”

”A camping enthusiast with ten years of experience chiming in: I can guarantee An Ke is definitely not an outdoor camping enthusiast.”

Many people were curious and asked why.

That outdoor camping enthusiast silently sent a bullet comment:

”Which camping enthusiast doesn’t buy expensive equipment?”

”We go camping, not wilderness survival.”

”What exactly was An Ke’s major in university?”

”This construction is just too good, isn’t it?”

”...”

An Ke’s process of building the camp was so perfect that everyone found it pleasing to the eye.

Even the Foreigners miraculously didn’t complain.

After all, there was simply nothing to complain about!

It was too awesome!

...

Soon, An Ke’s temporary camp was fully constructed.

He wiped the non-existent sweat from his forehead and said, ”Finally finished!”

”It’s just so-so!”

In the program, Liu Yifei blinked her large, beautiful eyes and said:

”Professor Zhao, do you think a camp like this is also ’so-so’ for you?”

Professor Zhao: ”...”

Inside the broadcast screen, after building the camp, An Ke began to collect some tree bark and dry wood.

Part of it was for starting a fire, and part was saved.

Just then, the national fortune system screen appeared before his eyes again.

[Congratulations to Dragon Country’s Player No. 1 for completing the task. Reward: Master-level Ceramic Smelting Technique.]

The moment the announcement appeared, all the knowledge regarding ceramic smelting flooded into An Ke’s mind.

In just a moment, An Ke became a master of ceramics.

An Ke nodded with satisfaction while digesting the knowledge.

With ceramics, he could use them to carry things or boil water, making it easier to cook food and so on.

It would also help prepare for the upcoming winter.

Outside, a series of admiring bullet comments flooded the live broadcast room.

”An Ke gives us so many surprises.”

”Less than a day into the game, and he’s already set the tone. Water resources, camp, and food have all been perfectly resolved.”
