Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!

Chapter 135: Chapter: 134 The Love Guardian’s hypocrisy.[4]

”Alright, let’s begin the trial,” the Love Guardian said in his deep, booming voice.

He took one heavy step forward.

Then he raised his massive sword high above his head and slammed it hard into the ground.

”Bam!”

The sword crashed down with a loud bang.

Right away, a bright red circle of light spread out from the spot.

It glowed on the floor and covered the exact area where Julius and Rosalina were standing.

Julius and Rosalina stared at the Love Guardian through their creepy masks.

Their eyes kept shifting over to Crypian and Alia, who stood a little farther away looking super anxious.

Their faces were tight with worry.

’Oh, this is just perfect,’ Julius thought with a smirk hidden under his mask.

Uriel had been right. Crypian’s face looked pale and full of fear.

That only happened when he had no backup plan left.

Even his system was gone. ’This is the perfect chance to end him.’

Rosalina felt the same rush of excitement.

She couldn’t wait to wrap her hands around Crypian’s neck and finish him off herself.

Her gaze turned ice-cold as she stared at him.

Sure, she knew Julius probably deserved the final kill more than she did.

But after everything? No way she was giving this up.

After all, Crypian was the son of the person who killed her mom.

He was also the one who nearly turned her into a slave.

And most of all... she glanced sideways at Julius.

She could feel the deep hatred Julius carried for him.

Crypian must have caused Julius a lot of pain in his previous life.

Rosalina decided right then, she wouldn’t stop until she killed Crypian in the most painful, brutal way possible.

But first, they had to win this stupid trial.

She looked at the giant armored Love Guardian standing just a few steps away.

’Once we beat this thing, no one will be left to save them.’

Julius was thinking the exact same thing. ’Win this, and nothing stands in our way. We can kill Crypian nice and slow.’

”Now, let’s begin the trial, shall we?” the Love Guardian said, turning his glowing red eyes toward Julius and Rosalina.

Both of them nodded at the same time.

The Love Guardian continued, ”The trial has three simple questions. If you answer even one of them correctly, you win. Understood?”

”Yes,” Julius and Rosalina answered together.

Rosalina lifted her chin high under her mask, feeling very proud of herself.

’This trial is as good as ours,’ she thought.

’It’s so obvious. Julius and I have loved each other for a long time. Especially me! I’ve loved him since I was eight years old.’

’Who could possibly have purer love than that?’ She almost wanted to laugh at how easy this was.

”Go ahead,” Rosalina said in her awkward, trying-to-sound-mature voice. ”Ask the first question.”

The Love Guardian gave a slow nod. He lifted his helmeted head a little higher.

Crypian and Alia watched nervously from the side, hoping with all their hearts that these two would fail.

Everyone waited in silence.

Then the Love Guardian asked the first question in his loud, dramatic voice:

”What is love?”

The love guardian stared at the masked pair, he couldn’t help but smirk, he had already accepted crypian and alia as his master, but because of his formality he couldn’t just break off the duty he was given, however he knew one thing clearly the moment he saw the masked pair...they won’t win!

”Hehe, what kind of silly question is that?”

Rosalina let out a creepy little laugh, clearly trying to copy Julius’s style.

She lifted her chin high in the air like she was the smartest person in the room.

”Isn’t it obvious? Love is obsession,” she said, her voice full of pride that practically leaked out of her.

”Love means getting so obsessed with someone that nothing in this world can stop you from getting the person you want!”

”Right, right,” Julius nodded heavily while crossing his arms over his chest.

He looked very sure of himself.

”The thing is, love happens only once. And if it doesn’t turn into your obsession, then it’s not real love.”

”It’s just some weak affection that disappears after you spend a little time together. Right, Honey?” He turned his masked face toward Rosalina.

”Yeah, yeah!” Rosalina nodded her head up and down like an excited kid.

”That’s exactly what it’s about!” She turned back toward the Love Guardian, still acting all proud. ”Just look at us for..”

”Beeeeep!”

Before she could finish her sentence, the Love Guardian opened his mouth and made a loud, annoying beeping sound.

He crossed his massive armored arms in an X shape.

”Wrong answer!” he said in a flat, deep voice while staring straight at them.

The moment those words left his mouth, both Crypian and Alia let out a big sigh of relief. .

They looked at each other, and their eyes turned soft and warm again.

A small smile even crept onto their faces.

It felt good to realize how pure and real their own love was compared to this nonsense.

But Rosalina and Julius were not happy at all.

They stared at the Love Guardian with sharp, angry eyes through their creepy masks.

”Oi! What do you mean it’s a wrong answer?” Rosalina snapped.

Her trying-to-sound-mature woman’s voice shook with anger.

”Yeah, explain! Explain!” Julius chimed in right away, sounding just as annoyed.

They both knew deep down that the Love Guardian wasn’t lying, so they held back from making a big scene.

Still, the shock and frustration were clear on their faces.

”Gheheheehe,” the Love Guardian chuckled deeply.

He turned his glowing red eyes toward Alia with full confidence and said, ”Alia, would you care to explain?”

Alia felt a rush of pride. She gave a small, graceful bow and stepped forward.

”Gladly,” she said in a soft but clear voice.

”Love is about freedom,” she began. ”It’s about giving the person you love the freedom to choose anyone and everyone.”

”Huh?” Both Julius and Rosalina showed clear confusion on their faces as they listened through their masks.

Alia continued without hesitation. ”For example, Crypian is loved by many girls, and their feelings are sincere.”

”So as one of them, I can’t ask him to choose only me. It’s about giving him that freedom!”

The moment she finished speaking and took a breath, Julius snapped.

”What kind of nonsense is this?” he growled.

His eyes narrowed with visible disgust. ”Wouldn’t you feel jealous?”

Alia shook her head calmly. ”No. As long as I love....”

Before she could finish, Julius cut her off and shook his head.

”Wait.” He turned sharply toward Crypian.

”Would you allow her to have as many men as she wants?”

He knew one thing clearly from what he had seen in noble families: many men took multiple wives, and the women usually did not get too jealous.

Though there were exceptions, like his own mom who had killed her avatar just for getting too close to his father.

And of course there was Rosalina.

But as a man himself, Julius felt sure he would kill anyone out of jealousy if his Rose ever looked at another man.

So he asked Crypian instead.

Crypian, who had been listening quietly, suddenly froze.

He looked left and right nervously, then pointed at himself. ”Me?”

Julius frowned hard, his mask making the expression even creepier.

”Who else is here besides you? Now answer. Would you allow her to have other men besides you?”

Hearing the question, Crypian’s face quickly changed. Hesitation and jealousy flashed in his eyes.

He looked clearly conflicted. But he noticed everyone staring at him, so he forced himself to nod.

”Y-yeah!” he stammered.

”Excellent!” The Love Guardian burst into loud cheers the moment Crypian agreed.

”That’s what we call...”

”What nonsense is this!” Rosalina snapped before the Guardian could finish.

Anger was clear on her face.

”It’s not love...” She paused and looked at both Crypian and Alia with pure disgust in her eyes.

She felt like they were worse than trash. ”Sharing your lifelong partner with others like food?”

She pointed at them sharply.

”Fuck no! It’s just prostitution with extra steps!”
