My Xianxia Harem Life

Riley and his wives continued to explore the vast stretches of the secret realm, their footsteps echoing through glimmering caverns and misty forest paths that twisted into the unknown.

Over the weeks, they had collected an astonishing amount of loot—ancient artifacts, rare spirit herbs, glowing crystal cores, and weapons that shimmered with forgotten power.

Yet, what intrigued Riley the most wasn’t the value of the treasure—it was the nature of it.

No matter how much they took, the treasure chests refilled.

The guardian beasts, once slain, returned after a short time, as if the realm refused to remain empty.

It was like an endless loop, offering infinite bounty to those wise—or bold—enough to stay and harvest it.

While others came and went, content with what they could carry, Riley and his wives remained.

For over a month now, they had lived within the realm’s boundaries, hunting, training, and amassing a fortune that could rival empires.

”Interesting…” Riley murmured under his breath as he knelt down, examining the soil beneath him.

The air here was different—thicker, richer, pulsing with spiritual energy.

It wasn’t just the resources that replenished.

The realm itself felt alive, like a sentient domain with hidden rules and secrets waiting to be uncovered.

He looked up at the towering crystalline trees around him, then back at the sparkling river flowing gently nearby.

A thought had been brewing in his mind for days now, and today, he could no longer resist testing it.

”What if I…” he whispered, extending his hand and pressing his palm firmly to the ground.

Ding!

A faint, metallic chime echoed in his mind.

At the same time, a subtle tremor rippled across the earth beneath them.

The air seemed to shimmer for an instant, like heat waves on a summer road.

Everyone around him paused. His wives looked up from where they had been resting or sorting their haul.

”What was that?” one of them asked, brows furrowing.

”Was that a… mini earthquake?” another muttered, glancing around warily.

”I don’t know… but something shifted,” said a third, eyes narrowing as she scanned the area with her spiritual sense.

The cultivators nearby—scattered throughout the valley—also noticed the strange ripple.

They halted their tasks, looking around with cautious expressions.

Only Riley remained calm.

He slowly withdrew his hand and stood. A small smile formed on his lips, thoughtful and calculating.

”It’s time to go home,” Riley said with a wide smile, his eyes twinkling with satisfaction.

Without another word, he turned and strolled off to find his wives.

An hour later, the group had gathered near their temporary encampment.

The women, all radiant and in high spirits, were puzzled by Riley’s sudden decision.

”Already? But why, husband?” Ava asked, arms crossed beneath her chest as she walked beside him.

”We were still exploring the western region. There were ruins we haven’t even touched.”

”Yeah, and I was sure I sensed a rare spirit herb growing near that waterfall we passed,” another added, her brows furrowed.

”You’ll find out soon enough,” Riley replied with a mysterious grin. ”Just be patient. It’s a surprise.”

His confident tone made them more curious, though a few of them exchanged knowing glances, suspecting he had some new trick up his sleeve.

Without pressing further, they followed him toward the exit portal of the secret realm.

The journey back was smooth.

They passed through familiar terrain—the silver mist-covered hills, the glowing crystal forest, and even the narrow stone bridge guarded by beasts they had once fought.

But now, those beasts no longer appeared, as if the realm itself recognized their strength and bade them farewell.

As they approached the exit point, a surge of spiritual energy washed over them.

Their cultivation bases, which had been suppressed by the unique laws of the realm, returned in full.

”Ahhhh… it’s good to have my cultivation base back,” one of the women said, stretching her limbs as spirit energy swirled around her like mist.

”Hehehe, true,” another giggled. ”It was exciting inside because of all the surprises and challenges… but it feels even better to have our strength restored.”

They began descending to their original campsite near the base of a jade mountain, where their other clones and supplies had been left.

Birds chirped in the distance, and the scent of clean air filled their lungs—something subtly different from the rich, chaotic energy inside the realm.

Their conversation was light and cheerful. They reminisced about their encounters—how Riley had subdued a six-headed serpent barehanded, how one of the wives accidentally triggered a trap that led them to a hidden vault, and how they’d once cooked a stew from ingredients scavenged from a mystic beast’s lair.

”I still can’t believe you ate that thing’s tongue,” Veronica teased one of the younger women.

”It was chewy and rich in qi! Don’t judge me!” she replied, laughing.

But just ten minutes after their descent, a sudden ripple ran through the sky above.

A gust of wind swept through the camp, and a strange stillness followed.

”Look!” a cultivator nearby shouted, pointing up. ”The secret realm… it’s closing!”

They all turned their eyes to the heavens.

Up in the sky, the tear-like rift that had led to the secret realm shimmered ominously.

The jagged edges began to blur, like ink in water, growing more transparent with every heartbeat. It was like watching a dream dissolve.

”It’s… fading,” someone murmured.

A dozen breaths later, the rift collapsed completely.

There was no flash, no sound—just silence as the sky sealed shut, erasing all evidence that the realm had ever been there.

Gasps spread across the group.

”That realm… it’s gone,” Fay whispered in awe.

”If we had waited just a little longer…” another murmured.

Riley stood still, eyes locked on the spot where the portal had been.

He slowly exhaled, a calm smile on his face. ”That’s why we had to leave. I sensed it earlier—the realm was destabilizing.”

The wives turned to him, their surprise quickly giving way to admiration.

”You knew?” one asked.

Riley nodded. ”Not exactly. But I felt the changes in the realm’s qi. It was beginning to reject outsiders. If we had stayed any longer, we might have been trapped… maybe even erased along with it.” Riley lied.

He of course knew that everyone inside was safe and unharmed. But it was good to look cool in front of his wives.

For a moment, silence lingered.

Then, one of his wives stepped forward and gently took his hand.

”You saved us again, husband.”

Riley chuckled. ”Well, I didn’t bring you in just to lose you inside. Let’s go. We’ve got treasures to sort, meals to cook, and a well-earned rest waiting for all of us.”

Laughter followed as they made their way back to the camp, the mysterious sky behind them now calm and empty—like the curtain had closed on a play they were lucky enough to survive.

”What? Why are we here all of a sudden?”

”What happened?”

”No! My precious treasures—don’t leave me!”

One by one, cultivators began spilling out of the secret realm, their expressions a mixture of shock, confusion, and disappointment.

Many had been in the middle of crucial breakthroughs or exploring yet-unclaimed ruins.

Others were just steps away from seizing rare opportunities, only to find themselves abruptly ejected without warning.

The murmurs grew louder, spreading through the crowd like wildfire.

”It closed too soon!”

”I wasn’t ready to leave!”

”There was still so much more to explore…”

Some collapsed to their knees, devastated by the sudden end to their fortunes.

One man even clawed at the sky in desperation, as if begging the heavens to reopen the realm and return what had been lost.

But amid the crowd’s lamenting, one figure stood calm, even cheerful.

Riley.

Unlike the others, his grin only grew wider as he watched the realm seal shut behind them.

While the rest mourned their interrupted fortune, Riley felt nothing but satisfaction.

After all, what they didn’t know—what they could never guess—was that the entire secret realm now resided within his Void Sanctuary.

While the portal had vanished from the sky, the realm itself hadn’t truly disappeared.

It belonged to him now.

”Poor souls,” Riley mused, glancing at the despairing crowd. ”They think it’s over. For them, maybe it is.”

He looked down at his palm, feeling the faint pulse of energy from his system interface.

”But for me… this is just the beginning.”

He had confirmed it: the system had somehow absorbed the secret realm in its entirety.

Despite his cultivation base having been stripped inside the realm, his system’s rewards and functions had remained untouched—operating independently of the laws that bound other cultivators.

That power, that freedom… it was something no one else in this world could claim.

”It seems that my system really is above any form of cultivation,” he whispered, his voice tinged with reverence.

He had once thought of the system as merely a tool to help him survive.

But now, seeing what it was capable of, he could no longer see it as something so simple.

It defied realms, ignored limitations, and treated even divine treasures as mere data to be stored and reproduced.

With this realization, a new respect bloomed in Riley’s heart—no, perhaps even a hint of awe.

Whatever this system was… it was far more than he had imagined.

And now, with an entire secret realm locked safely within his Void Sanctuary, he had infinite resources at his fingertips.

Cultivation pills? Infinite.

Rare herbs? Replenishable.

Spirit beasts? Respawning.

And opportunities for growth?

Endless.

Riley’s eyes gleamed.

Let the world chase scraps.

He already had the whole treasure chest.
