Apocalypse Villainess? Nah, I'm Nice

The scene began quickly, and ended even faster.

Before Paige Summers could let her imagination run wild, a miserable shriek came from the tent. The woman was kicked out, flying through the air before landing heavily on the ground. She skidded for a distance and came to a stop not far from Paige’s feet.

’That guy definitely did it on purpose!’

Paige Summers gritted her teeth.

Still, she couldn’t deny that she was genuinely relieved.

’Thankfully, even if he had changed, at least in this respect, he still kept to himself.’

’She knew what she’d done wasn’t very magnanimous.’

In fact, besides her high Combat Power, she considered herself no different from any other girl in her twenties when it came to relationships. She could be awkward, get jealous, and feel insecure.

So, with a simple shrug, she decided to just accept it and move on.

With such a commotion, several men quickly ran out of one of the other party’s tents. Their expressions were grim, and when they saw the woman lying motionless on the ground, one of them rushed over to check on her.

A flicker of understanding crossed Paige Summers’s eyes. Without bothering to say a word, she turned and entered the tent.

Marcus Monroe was sitting cross-legged in the center of the tent, waiting for her with a dark expression on his face.

”You did that on purpose!”

Paige Summers found his aura overwhelming. His glare made even her feel a little guilty, and the truth almost slipped out. ’So this is what a difference in Superpower Rank feels like, huh?’ she thought. ’At this Level, even a gap of a single First Order is enough to make things very unpleasant if you’re being suppressed with their full power.’

She did her best to blink innocently. ”I was just curious about what she came here for. Who knew...”

”You’re. Lying,” Marcus Monroe called her out, enunciating each word.

’Alright, so he wasn’t that easy to fool.’ Paige Summers decided to stay quiet. She subconsciously touched her earlobe. It felt hot; it must have turned red.

’How awkward!’

She could tell he was furious. But she would never admit that she had been testing him.

The tent fell silent.

Just then, the sound of two people’s footsteps came from outside, followed by a voice. ”You two nearly killed our teammate. Don’t you think you should come out and explain yourselves?!”

The voice sounded indignant, but Paige Summers could sense that the emotion they were trying to hide was something closer to excitement.

As she was pondering this, Marcus Monroe roared at them, ”Get lost!”

At the same time, two streaks of white light shot from his hands.

Two holes were torn through the tent, followed immediately by the sound of heavy thuds and muffled groans from outside. But he hadn’t dealt a killing blow, so a moment later, they scrambled back to their feet.

This time, they didn’t dare talk back. Only the sound of them stumbling away could be heard.

Paige Summers was about to breathe a sigh of relief when she suddenly froze.

The sensation spreading through her body told her... she had been drugged.

She turned to look at the entrance and finally understood. Their purpose hadn’t been to question them at all; it was to launch a sneak attack.

She let out a breath, and with a flip of her hand, produced an Antidote from her storage space. She walked over and handed it to Marcus Monroe.

”Here. Drink it now.”

Marcus Monroe recognized it. In a flash, he understood the whole situation. A dangerous glint flashed in his eyes as he took the Antidote and downed it.

It was said that once a superpower was Promoted to the Tenth Rank, one could form a protective layer of energy around the body, but he hadn’t reached that level yet. That was why dishonorable methods like poison were still highly effective against most Superpower Users.

While drinking the Antidote, his other hand wasn’t idle. He seized the opportunity to pull Paige Summers into his lap, trapping her firmly in his arms.

He was in a foul mood, so he used considerable force, as if determined not to let her escape.

Paige Summers’s focus, however, suddenly shifted.

She reached out to squeeze the muscles on his arm, looking up in confusion. ”I was just thinking,” she asked, ”you didn’t Promote an Enhanced Superpower, so why has your strength suddenly increased so much?”

Her sweet face was completely serious. Under the glow of the lamp, her bright, dark eyes took on a hazy, moist quality. Her upturned eyelashes seemed even longer, casting no shadows on her face. Looking at her, Marcus Monroe’s heart suddenly skipped several beats. Though he quickly brought it under control, he found his eyes inexplicably drawn to her full, slightly parted red lips.

Without a moment’s hesitation, he crushed his lips against hers.

He ravaged the lips that had captured his full attention. His kiss wasn’t gentle; it carried a hint of punishment.

’She knew what he wanted, yet she’d stalled, refusing to come in. She was right there, outside, but she deliberately let another woman enter... For a second, he even wondered if he’d been wrong about her, if she didn’t actually love him. Otherwise, knowing her personality, shouldn’t she have been the one to land that kick?!’

’And even though her guilt afterward made him realize her true intentions, he only felt more annoyed!’

’His woman dared to look down on him like this!’

’Did she think he was some sex-starved fiend who took whatever he could get?’

’Worrying about that piece of trash?’

’Damn it!’

As these thoughts flashed through his mind, his kiss grew more forceful. He bit down with his sharp teeth—though he controlled the pressure enough not to break the skin, it was enough to make her try to push him away.

’As if I’d let her get away. I’ve been thinking about this all night!’

’She’s mine, isn’t she!’

The kiss deepened, and his free hand soon began to wander, sliding down her spine to her full, rounded bottom.

She looked slender, but she was definitely not lacking in the right places. He squeezed her forcefully, relishing the feel. At the same time, the sensation of her firm breasts pressing against his chest made him feel like he couldn’t hold back any longer.

Just then, his wrist was seized in a powerful grip!

His eyes were bloodshot, surging with lust. Stopped at such a critical moment, he angrily bit the tip of her tongue. Hearing her faint moan, he finally pulled away from her lips and glared fiercely at the woman in his arms.

Her eyes were also hazy with desire, but one of her hands gripped his wrist tightly, refusing to loosen in the slightest.

Then, she whispered hoarsely, ”You like it when I use force?”

”Or perhaps,” Paige Summers’s voice was also husky, ”you want to test just how strong I really am?” She forced herself to calm down. With a flame of anger smoldering inside her, it wasn’t too difficult.

’She was angry and ashamed at herself for almost drowning in desire. It shouldn’t be like this! Their relationship shouldn’t be built on physical attraction alone!’

But in the next moment, Marcus Monroe’s gaze became even calmer than hers.

He didn’t pull his hand free, but mouthed, ”They’re here.”
