Apocalypse Villainess? Nah, I'm Nice

Just as Marcus Monroe dumped all the follow-up matters in the city on Black S and sped out toward Sheldon Reid, Nadia, back in Central City, also received news of Levi Young’s disappearance.

Previously, whenever he reached a base with a Jovitas contact point, Levi Young had always thoughtfully sent word to Nadia to let her know he was safe.

He knew she had felt extremely insecure ever since Evan Pierce’s betrayal.

And having spent so much time together, even if he didn’t love her, he was touched by her affection for him.

Unlike Paige Summers, deep down, he needed the love and affirmation of others more.

Thus, their relationship had always remained in a state of ambiguity.

He would always do his best to handle any small matters he could, just to put her at ease.

And so, when Nadia hadn’t heard from him for several days, she knew something must have happened!

Under her urgent questioning, the leader of the Jovitas intelligence team hesitated for a moment before telling her the truth.

Marcus Monroe had said not to message Paige Summers about this, but he hadn’t said anything about not telling Nadia. Knowing he was missing was better than knowing nothing at all and letting her imagination run wild with fear.

He considered himself a very kind person, after all!

Meanwhile, when Nadia learned the news, it was like a bolt from the blue.

Especially since she was the one who was supposed to go. If she hadn’t run her mouth and told Levi Young about it, he wouldn’t have gone in her place, and he wouldn’t have disappeared!

Annoyance, regret, fear—a tangle of emotions wrapped around her heart, suffocating her.

She had never been so scared...

But after everything she had been through, she was no longer the same girl who had been left helpless by Evan Pierce’s betrayal. She forced herself to calm down.

’Fear is useless. I have to find a way to get to him!’

’But who can I ask for help?’

Paige Summers wasn’t in the city, and Marcus Monroe had left too... She couldn’t find out about Marcus’s whereabouts from Jovitas, so she wasn’t sure if he had left to rescue Andy.

’If he did, that would be for the best. But what if he didn’t?’

’Should I go to my teacher?’

’No! It’s useless!’

’In this situation, my teacher could only ask The Government for help. But Andy’s trip to Norgate was an action fully approved by The Research Institute, so The Government wouldn’t put their hearts into it!’

She nearly bit through her lower lip as a thought suddenly flashed through her mind.

’That’s it!’

’Paige Summers might be gone, but many people from Bloodfall are still in the city!’

’I’ll go find them!’

’Many of them owe their lives to Andy’s medicine. They won’t just stand by and do nothing!’

The Bloodfall contingent currently stationed in Central City was under the acting command of Jensen Archer. On this particular day, Bloodfall was on a day of rest after just completing a mission. When he saw Nadia and heard her story, Jensen Archer hesitated and did not give an immediate answer.

Watching Nadia’s despairing figure walk away, Jensen Archer sat back down in his chair, a heavy feeling in his chest. He couldn’t help but pull out a cigarette he usually saved for special occasions and take a hard drag.

It wasn’t that he was heartless, nor was he a coward.

The situation was just that tricky.

In the apocalypse, plenty of people went missing. It was rare for anyone to be found, and most vanished without even leaving a body behind, let alone being found alive!

The potential area where Andy went missing was not small. To really search for him, they’d have to send out all their members and be prepared to stay in the wilds for an extended period.

But if they couldn’t find him and then suffered heavy losses among their own members...

Forget everyone else—he himself wouldn’t be able to get over it.

Andy was important, of course, but the other members were also incredibly precious to Bloodfall.

He and a few other veterans had trained many of them personally.

Trying to decide who was more important was a truly difficult choice!

Seeing her husband’s difficult position, Lucy Lee felt bad for him too.

After thinking it over, she suddenly said, ”This is a big deal. You can’t make the decision on your own. You have to call the others to discuss it together! Don’t forget, Andy is Paige Summers’s brother. Not by blood, maybe, but I can see their bond is deep. You’re thinking about what’s best for Bloodfall, but if something happens to Andy, who can guarantee Paige won’t take her anger out on us when she gets back? So this decision has to be made by the whole group!”

Jensen Archer threw down his cigarette butt and shot her a glare. ”We are going to call everyone to discuss it, but not for your petty reasons! How many of our members have been saved by Andy’s medicine? Even though he joined The Research Institute, he’s still one of Bloodfall’s own! Now that he’s in trouble, no matter what, we can’t just hide in our shells like cowards. Would we even be human then?! We need to get everyone together to seriously figure out a way to find him!”

Lucy Lee knew her husband valued loyalty and righteousness, so she didn’t argue with him. In any case, as long as the result was the same, it didn’t matter.

Soon, the veteran members of Bloodfall were gathered for an emergency meeting.

It wasn’t that no one had reservations, but the majority still leaned toward a rescue mission.

Aside from emotional factors, Levi Young was also an extremely rare pharmacist. His value to Bloodfall was immeasurable!

By pooling their ideas, they came up with a plan in no time.

Andy had disappeared with Erin Quinn.

While they couldn’t count on The Research Institute, the Taoist Association would definitely be a great help! Erin Quinn was Master Serenus’s disciple; they would never ignore this.

On one hand, they would team up with the Taoist Association, and the Bloodfall members would prepare to depart at a moment’s notice. On the other hand, they needed to find someone to deliver a message to their captain as soon as possible.

The latter was more difficult, but they had to try.

But they could take immediate action with the Taoist Association.

After the short meeting ended, Jensen Archer set off for the Taoist Association.

What he didn’t expect was that the difficult part—contacting their captain—would be sorted out at the Taoist Association as well.

At that time, Master Serenus was in seclusion and could not be disturbed.

The person who came forward was Erin Quinn’s second senior brother.

After hearing about the situation, he immediately organized his junior brothers, preparing to search for the two of them with Bloodfall’s people. At the same time, after a long moment of consideration, he took out an extremely precious Communication Talisman Paper to contact his first senior brother, Sean Raines.

It was said to have been left behind by their master’s master, and no one nowadays had the Power to create one.

But Erin Quinn was his master’s personal disciple. He was already frustrated enough that she had managed to sneak out; if anything were to happen to her, he would have no way of answering to their master when he emerged from seclusion.

Compared to the Communication Talisman Paper, his and Erin Quinn’s lives were of course more important!

He vaguely knew that his first senior brother was with people from Bloodfall. At a time like this, if they could get him and Bloodfall’s captain to come back together, their chances would be much greater!

That very day, people from Bloodfall and the Taoist Association left the city.

And when the Communication Talisman was used, the news that Erin Quinn and Levi Young had disappeared together reached Sean Raines.

He couldn’t help but let out a long sigh. It was like the heavens didn’t want him to have a moment’s peace. He always said that damn girl was trouble, but he never thought she’d be this much trouble!

But complaints were just complaints; deep down, he was extremely anxious about Erin Quinn’s disappearance.

Plus, Levi Young was with her, and he was Paige Summers’s little brother.

There was no other choice. He had to go find them.

And so, after Bloodfall’s party had set out, he—having not gotten far himself—had no choice but to turn back. He entered The Foundry alone to find Paige Summers.
