Engagement Annulled? Now The Husbands Kneel and Beg for Her Favor

To be honest, Jiang Qingli was a little uncertain herself when she jumped from the roof.

Ye Linyuan had just shielded her from a bullet without a second thought, only to put her down and walk away. She couldn’t quite figure him out.

Anyway, she had a Barrier and wouldn’t get hurt, so she decided to take a gamble.

The wind whistled past her ears as Jiang Qingli squeezed her eyes shut.

The sensation of falling came to an abrupt halt. She had been caught.

She’d won the bet.

Jiang Qingli opened her eyes. Upon seeing Ye Linyuan, she raised an eyebrow at him with a hint of smug satisfaction. She then turned and waved to the few Beastmen who were watching the show. ”You guys go on ahead. We’ll catch up in a bit.”

The Beastmen glanced between Ye Linyuan and Jiang Qingli, then silently departed.

”Who said I was taking you with me,” Ye Linyuan said coldly. ”Get down.”

”Then you’ll have to let go,” Jiang Qingli retorted.

’She wanted to test the limits of Ye Linyuan’s tolerance for her and push her luck if the opportunity arose.’

Ye Linyuan looked down. The moment their eyes met, his heart gave a slight twitch.

It was a very familiar feeling.

In his memory, today was the first time they had ever met, yet he couldn’t help but let his gaze linger on Jiang Qingli.

A few seconds later, Ye Linyuan once again felt a sharp sense of resistance in his mind.

However, whenever he got close to Jiang Qingli, a strong sense of revulsion would soon well up, flowing in continuously, as if it were a pre-written program.

With Jiang Qingli so close, Ye Linyuan scoffed, ”You think I don’t dare?”

After speaking, as if to prove his point, he immediately let go.

Jiang Qingli fell from his arms.

But it didn’t hurt. As luck would have it, she landed right on Ye Linyuan’s tail.

’This guy... When did he change back into his Half-beastman form?’

His snake tail coiled around her waist, setting her upright.

Jiang Qingli was about to say something more when a faint crackle of static came from her earpiece. She could vaguely hear Baili Jing’s tentative, yet intensely anxious, voice calling out.

Jiang Qingli quickly replied, ”I’m here, I’m here! I can hear you now!”

Amidst the noise, Baili Jing finally heard Jiang Qingli’s voice clearly and breathed a sigh of relief. His voice was still a little shaky. ”Baby, where are you now? Don’t be afraid, the person has been subdued. I’m coming to find you right now!”

Jiang Qingli reassured him, ”I’m fine. I’m with Ye Linyuan right now. We’re at... hold on, let me see...”

As she spoke, she glanced around, trying to get her bearings, when her earpiece was suddenly snatched away.

She looked up in surprise to see Ye Linyuan asking with a blank expression, ”Who is he?”

”My Beast Husband,” Jiang Qingli said. ”You know him, too. I mean, before you lost your memory, you two actually got along quite well.”

Ye Linyuan’s lip twitched. ”Liar.”

’Just hearing that male call her ’Baby’ in that strained voice makes me furious. How could I possibly get along with him?’

’A male like that is her Beast Husband.’

’Her taste is terrible.’

Ye Linyuan narrowed his eyes, recited an address into the communicator, and then crushed it.

Jiang Qingli was utterly bewildered.

She hadn’t processed what had just happened. ”What are you doing?”

Ye Linyuan tossed the remains of the communicator to the ground. ”I’ve already told him the address. Wait here.”

With that, he turned and left.

Jiang Qingli quickly chased after him and grabbed his hand. ”Where are you going now?”

Ye Linyuan glanced down at her fingers wrapped around his, tried to pull free, but couldn’t.

「The sun began to rise.」

Beneath the sunlight, the shadows of the tall trees stretched out, splitting the world in two.

Ye Linyuan stood in the shadows, his gaze fixed on the girl standing opposite him.

The sunlight today was dazzlingly bright—his most hated kind of clear day.

But Jiang Qingli stood in the light, every strand of her hair shimmering as if she were born to exist in the brightness.

’They’re not from the same world.’

”So many questions.” Ye Linyuan lowered his gaze but still gave her an answer. ”To the place I’m supposed to be.”

Seeing him turn to leave again, Jiang Qingli gripped his hand even tighter. ”I’m really not lying! You are my Beast Husband! You even have my mark on you—”

Ye Linyuan said calmly, ”Not anymore.”

Jiang Qingli was taken aback. ”That’s because Lü Xin removed it! You can check—we’re still registered as married in the marital system.”

Ye Linyuan didn’t even lift an eyelid. ”So?”

Jiang Qingli was at a loss for words.

’Fine.’

’Ye Linyuan himself was born in a place where laws were an afterthought. The marriage laws were meaningless to him, and she didn’t really want to use the marital system to control him anyway.’

Jiang Qingli felt a headache coming on.

’Is the amnesiac Ye Linyuan really this difficult to deal with? Why did I ever think he was so obedient before?’

’How did I train him before?’

Silence fell for a moment.

Jiang Qingli calmly raised her head, calmly looked at Ye Linyuan, and calmly dropped a bombshell: ”Actually, I’m pregnant with your child.”

Ye Linyuan froze.

Ye Linyuan pointed to himself, his expression blank.

Jiang Qingli nodded vigorously, affirming it. ”That’s right. I’m pregnant with your child.”

Ye Linyuan was speechless.

A vein popped on the young man’s forehead. Suppressing his anger, he ground out, ”I’ve only held you twice.”

Ye Linyuan wasn’t an idiot.

He had only held Jiang Qingli for a few minutes. How could she possibly be pregnant?

But Jiang Qingli was acting completely serious. She even took Ye Linyuan’s hand and pressed it against her stomach. ”If you don’t believe me, you can feel the baby’s heartbeat right now.”

Ye Linyuan narrowed his eyes, his thin lips tightening into a line.

Based on Jiang Qingli’s conversation with Lü Xin, Ye Linyuan could roughly deduce that he’d had a past relationship with her.

However, he only had his memories from before he was twenty, plus the last few days in the laboratory.

When he was sixteen, Ye Linyuan had hacked into a database and run his own genes for testing. There were no females with a compatibility match of 85% or higher.

There were very few who even reached 70%.

Therefore, Ye Linyuan didn’t think he was the type to marry a female, let alone be marked by one.

’I have more important things to do right now. I don’t have time to waste on a strange female.’

But...

Jiang Qingli pressed her lips together and blinked at him pitifully. ”Just feel the baby’s heartbeat...”

Ye Linyuan raised his hand, gently placing his palm on her lower abdomen.

He leaned in, looking down.

The moment he let his guard down, Jiang Qingli produced a small flower from who-knows-where and shoved it right in Ye Linyuan’s face.

Ye Linyuan hadn’t expected her surprise attack.

He was just about to wrap his snake tail around her when a wave of dizziness and weakness washed over him, and he collapsed to the ground.

”Didn’t you just say I couldn’t be pregnant?”

Jiang Qingli found a rope and deftly tied Ye Linyuan’s hands, securing him against a tree.

Then she sat down on his snake tail, facing him.

Ye Linyuan, with only his memories up to age twenty, was nowhere near as calm and composed as his twenty-five-year-old self.

As the girl drew near, Ye Linyuan’s whole body tensed. He stared at her, gritting his teeth as he asked, ”What are you going to do?”

”Oh, why ask such a silly question now? Exactly how far back does your amnesia go?”

Jiang Qingli pinched his chin, forcing his head up, and smiled like a wicked villain.

She rubbed Ye Linyuan’s ear and blew softly against it.

”A moment ago, didn’t you say it was impossible for us to have a child because we’ve never done anything?”

”Well, now... of course, we’re going to do what it takes to make one.”
