Engagement Annulled? Now The Husbands Kneel and Beg for Her Favor

Perhaps because it had been too long since he’d last kissed someone, Qin Muye’s movements were a little clumsy.

He held the girl’s soft lips between his own, his motions gentle and slow, as if he were afraid of hurting her, yet also as if he were savoring a long-lost sweetness.

Jiang Qingli wasn’t quite used to this side of him. She opened her eyes and met his gray-blue gaze, which was heavy with desire.

The young man’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and his breath hitched.

In the next instant, he pushed her down.

Heaven knew Qin Muye’s main purpose for coming here was to investigate the ”other man,” but the moment he saw her, what little rationality he had scattered to the winds. His mind filled with nothing but thoughts of how to get closer to her.

How to monopolize her attention in this place where another man had been.

How to stake his claim.

As the kiss deepened, the belt tied at her waist came undone with the motion, and the bathrobe fell open.

The air seemed to freeze in that moment.

Jiang Qingli was very fair-skinned. Having not seen much sun during her time in the Twelve Cities, she seemed even paler now. Her snow-white skin against the red dress was a stark contrast, and the visual impact made Qin Muye freeze, motionless for a long moment.

Seemingly unsatisfied with his reaction, the girl lifted her thick, curly lashes and tilted her head. ”What kind of reaction is that?”

As she spoke, her dark hair slipped with the movement, revealing a shoulder as white and smooth as jade.

Qin Muye could almost recall the delicate sensation of kissing that shoulder the last time he’d bent his head to it.

’I can’t act like some greenhorn.’ Qin Muye’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he forced himself not to reveal his intentions so quickly.

He uncomfortably averted his gaze, trying to think of a mature and steady reply, when he suddenly felt a finger touch the spot right under his nose.

Qin Muye: ?

He looked down and saw Jiang Qingli leaning in, staring intently at his... nose?

Just being watched by her sent a tingling sensation through his waist.

The snow leopard ears that had popped out on his head at some point twitched. Qin Muye asked in a hoarse voice, ”What are you looking at?” He paused for a second before stressing, ”I washed my face!”

She hadn’t expected him to say that and almost burst out laughing.

’A puppy’s focus is always so strange, and so cute.’

Her finger slid up, and Jiang Qingli gently pinched the tip of Qin Muye’s nose. Her eyes curved into crescents as she revealed her true purpose. ”I know you came here all cleaned up. I was just checking to see if you were getting a nosebleed.”

Qin Muye: ”...”

The Prince, who had been looking so cocky just a moment ago, turned bright red when his female master brought up his embarrassing past.

”I don’t get nosebleeds anymore!” Qin Muye emphasized through gritted teeth. ”Forget about it!”

”I can’t.” Jiang Qingli’s eyebrows drooped in mock distress as her finger hooked his chin. ”It was too cute.”

This was blatant teasing.

Qin Muye’s face grew even redder, but he still tried to act tough, stressing, ”I’m nothing like that word.”

Jiang Qingli smiled. ”Which word?”

Qin Muye was completely helpless against her. He rubbed the back of his neck and said sullenly, ”...You know what I’m talking about.”

His reaction made Jiang Qingli laugh out loud. She reached up, messed up his hair, and rubbed his ears, repeating without reservation, ”Cute puppy.”

She was laughing so hard that she didn’t hold back. Qin Muye’s carefully styled hair was turned into a bird’s nest, and his soft snow leopard ears swayed back and forth.

Jiang Qingli was having the time of her life.

After a while, she realized that Qin Muye had stopped smiling at some point. He propped himself up on one hand beside her, leaned over, and stared at her intently.

His training in the Twelve Cities during this time had certainly helped Qin Muye mature a lot.

While she was laughing, he didn’t get flustered and shut her up with a kiss like he would have before. Instead, he waited patiently at the side.

Like the most experienced Hunter.

Waiting for his prey to let down its guard before pouncing to enjoy the fruits of victory.

...

It was hard to say when their lips met.

Breath and time twisted together as the air in the room heated up endlessly...

Jiang Qingli was kissed until she was dizzy. ’The training in the Twelve Cities is way too effective,’ she grumbled internally. ’Even his kissing is better than before.’

She gazed at the ceiling, her neck arching back slightly, creating a long, white line.

The kisses at her lips traveled down that snowy line, slow and forceful, sending her thoughts, which had just begun to clear, back into chaos.

...

Her bent legs felt a little weak and unconsciously pressed against his arm.

He lifted them up again.

She wanted to break free, but he held her by the ankles, making it impossible to escape the abyss.

Jiang Qingli’s fingers scrabbled about, suddenly knocking into a decorative object on the coffee table.

The next second, a beautiful and dazzling light show was projected onto the ceiling.

Qin Muye spared it a glance.

He didn’t register it at first, but when he realized the light was coming from the trinket Que Feiling had given her, his handsome face instantly darkened.

His powerful arm tightened around Jiang Qingli’s waist while his other hand snatched the trinket. He looked at it from side to side before offering a sharp, one-word critique: ”Ugly.”

As he said this, he moved to throw it in the trash.

Just as he raised his hand, slender fingers grabbed his arm.

”You can’t throw that away.” Jiang Qingli hadn’t recovered yet. Her voice was nearly a rasp, the corners of her eyes still holding a hazy flush of red. She explained with great effort, ”That’s... something his family made when Que Feiling was born, so...”

She must have been truly dazed, as even forming a coherent sentence was difficult.

In the end, she gave up and just called his name softly, ”Qin Muye.”

Qin Muye stared at the trinket for a few seconds before sneering, ”He’s had bad taste since he was a kid. You should hang out with him less, or you’ll catch it.”

Despite his words, he didn’t throw it in the trash.

He just casually tossed it into the soft cushions of a corner sofa.

With this little interruption, Qin Muye paused his actions, and Jiang Qingli’s tense nerves finally had a moment to relax.

Before she could even sigh in relief, her body suddenly became weightless.

Qin Muye swept her up by the waist, gently tossed her onto the soft mattress, and then pounced, his tall shadow completely enveloping the girl.

His large, calloused palm grasped her slender waist.

Those past memories slowly reawakened. Jiang Qingli felt her fingers go limp as she stared at him, lost in the moment.

But Qin Muye didn’t move right away.

He caressed her waist and said in a low voice, ”On my way here tonight, I learned a new saying: ’Reunion after a long separation is better than a honeymoon.’”

He said it deadpan, and even with a hint of deep affection.

Even though the scene was just like something out of a TV drama, Jiang Qingli couldn’t help but feel the urge to laugh.

’He even learned an opening line?’

’Where did he pick up this new trick?’

Jiang Qingli deliberately furrowed her brow and pretended to think for a moment. ”But, if I remember correctly... back on our honeymoon, didn’t you sleep on the sofa?”

Qin Muye: ”...”

He had finally managed to say a few lines, just like the males in those ”instructional” videos they used to watch together.

But with her interruption, he had no idea how to respond.

And to think he’d been practicing it the whole way here.

Having the romantic line he’d mulled over for so long get shot down was a little frustrating for Qin Muye, but looking into her smiling eyes, all his frustration vanished.

’A female only teases a male she likes.’

’Otherwise, why doesn’t she tease anyone else?’

’Doesn’t that just prove I’m special?’

The young man’s expression shifted, and his face grew redder and redder.

Jiang Qingli found this amusing and wanted to tease him more, but he anticipated her move. He grabbed her wrists, pinned them deep into the bedding, and savagely devoured her soft cry of surprise, nibbling her earlobe as he murmured—

”All talk is boring.”

”Why don’t you experience it for yourself?”
