Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Back in the bedroom, he pressed her to sit on the bed, then took the medical kit to tend to her wound.

Jian Yufei’s wound was cut open with a broken shell.

The shell was already hard, and the broken edges were uneven. She had used too much force when cutting, making the wound look quite gruesome.

Ruan Tianling took a cotton swab, dipped it in the medicine, and cleaned her wound.

”Hiss...” Jian Yufei winced in pain.

”Does it hurt?” Ruan Tianling paused his actions.

Jian Yufei nodded, ”A bit.”

She wasn’t afraid of the pain when she cut it, but now that she was dealing with the wound, she found it very painful.

Ruan Tianling was both heartbroken over her and angry at her actions.

”Next time, don’t be so hard on yourself! Your body is mine, even if it’s yours, you can’t hurt it at will.”

Jian Yufei knew he was still angry, so she behaved sensibly.

”There won’t be a next time. But I was really scared at the time, I didn’t think too much.”

Ruan Tianling gripped her wrist tightly, it was impossible for him not to be touched.

”The shark is fast, even if you drew it away, it could quickly return.”

That meant that her actions were unnecessary and even counterproductive.

Jian Yufei nodded, ”I understand. But fortunately, an earthquake happened today, or else something could have happened to you.”

Speaking of the earthquake, Ruan Tianling recalled something.

While applying medicine on Jian Yufei, he frowned and said, ”I suspect this earthquake isn’t simple.”

”What makes you say that?” Jian Yufei’s curiosity was piqued.

Ruan Tianling didn’t hide anything from her: ”When I was in the sea, I saw a whirlpool. But it was short-lived, likely Nangong Xu saw it too.”

”Could it have been a phenomenon from the earthquake?”

Ruan Tianling shook his head, ”I’m not sure. But this island seems a bit unusual.”

”Why do you say that?”

”When there’s an earthquake on an island, usually there wouldn’t be such a strong reaction at sea. So I suspect that this island was once much larger, not just this size, but has since been submerged, leaving it as an inconspicuous small island.”

Jian Yufei mused, ”If you can think of that, Nangong Xu surely would too.”

Ruan Tianling’s eyes glimmered with contemplation.

”Let’s not worry about these things for now, in a few days, we’ll find a way to leave.”

The virus lurking in Nangong Xu’s body would erupt in four or five days, and by then, he’ll try any means to take Jian Yufei away.

Thinking that they could soon go home, Jian Yufei was filled with anticipation.

Ruan Tianling wrapped her arm with gauze, then handed her a bottle of milk to drink.

While Jian Yufei drank the milk, he went to the bathroom to take a shower.

When he came out, it was Jian Yufei’s turn to tend to his wound.

They sorted everything out, grabbed a small bite to eat, and lay down to rest.

Luckily, today’s earthquake wasn’t too strong, and the house was sturdy enough, otherwise they would have had nowhere to stay.

After a tiring day, Jian Yufei and Ruan Tianling were exhausted.

They lay in bed, embraced in each other’s arms, and quickly fell asleep.

...

When Ruan Tianling woke up, it was nighttime.

The room’s lights were off, the ambiance dim—

He got up, walked to the window, and saw bright lights by the sea.

Two yachts were docked by the shore, as if they had just returned from outside.

Ruan Tianling had excellent eyesight, even from a distance, he could discern some details.

A few people disembarked from the yachts, dressed in diving suits, carrying oxygen tanks, all looking weary as they headed towards the castle.

Ruan Tianling furrowed his brow, what had they been doing?
