Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1716: Chapter 1716: Following Her for 12 Hours

She died, and he was freed, no longer having to struggle with his feelings for her.

And with her death, he could fundamentally rid himself of his ‘drug addiction.’

Thinking this, Qi Ruigang tightened his grip, as if with just a bit more force, he could snap her fragile neck.

Mo Lan’s face turned red, and she closed her eyes in pain, without any struggle.

Seeing her nonchalant attitude even towards death, Qi Ruigang grew even angrier.

But he couldn’t apply more force.

Why couldn’t he kill her, why—

In a rage, Qi Ruigang abruptly let her go and stood up to leave!

The door closed forcefully behind him.

As soon as he left, Mo Lan immediately got up to go to the bathroom to wash off the filth.

She had finally found some hope for a new life, and she didn’t know how much longer she could hold on.

She truly doubted that if things continued, she would collapse and choose to end her life…

Changing into clean clothes, Mo Lan was about to call in a servant to change the sheets when there was a knock at the door.

“Mrs. Qi, may I come in?”

Emma?

What is she doing here again?

“Please come in,” she said flatly.

Emma pushed the door open and stood at the entrance, smiling at her. “I’m here to chat with you.”

Mo Lan sat in front of the dressing table, brushing her hair. “Emma, I won’t go through treatment, don’t waste your efforts.”

“Can’t you just cooperate a little with the treatment? Mr. Qi is very concerned about your condition; otherwise, he wouldn’t have insisted that I cure you.”

This wasn’t concern; he was clearly doing it for his own good.

“I told you I won’t undergo treatment, and I don’t want to make things difficult for you. Please don’t come looking for me anymore,” Mo Lan said lightly.

Emma clasped her fingers together, troubled. “Mrs. Qi, Mr. Qi has instructed that from today, I mustn’t leave you for 12 hours during the day. He wants me to keep persuading you to cooperate with the treatment, or I shouldn’t think about working in this field anymore.”

Mo Lan frowned, realizing how despicable he was.

“Mrs. Qi, actually, cooperating with the treatment isn’t difficult. It only requires an hour a day. If you don’t want to keep seeing me, you just have to cooperate with my treatment.”

Did Qi Ruigang really think she would soften and show mercy?

Mo Lan smiled slightly, “Alright then… you’ll stay with me for 12 hours during the day.”

Emma thought she was willing to cooperate.

She felt disappointed, “Mrs. Qi, don’t you find it annoying for me to bother you like this?”

“Not at all, I’m quite lonely by myself. Having someone to accompany me for 12 hours is a pleasure,” she said.

Emma: “…”

How unfortunate is she to encounter such a bizarre patient!

What Emma said wasn’t false; if Mo Lan didn’t cooperate, she really had to stick with her for 12 hours and constantly find topics to talk about.

But no matter how Emma tried to divert her thoughts, it all ended in failure.

After several hours, Emma was parched from talking, while Mo Lan remained composed and resolute, her mind unwavering.

Emma returned without any success—

Downstairs, Qi Ruigang was still waiting for her.

“How did it go?” he asked coldly, not really expecting much.

“Mr. Qi, I believe that Mrs. Qi’s firm stance isn’t because she’s unwilling to cooperate with the treatment. Even if she did, her condition wouldn’t improve.”

Qi Ruigang frowned, “Why?”

“There is a saying in China that ‘mental illness requires mental remedies.’ I think to fundamentally solve the biggest issue in Mrs. Qi’s heart is the only way to cure her illness…”
