Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1493: Chapter 1493: Unveiling Her Oxygen Mask

Qi Ruigang coldly stared at her, then pushed open the door of the ward and stepped inside—

Approaching the bed, he could hear more clearly the beeping sound of the electrocardiogram.

An oxygen mask covered Mo Lan’s face.

If he were to remove the oxygen, would she die?

Qi Ruigang methodically put on white gloves, his icy gaze fixed continuously on the unconscious Mo Lan.

Taking a step closer to her, he reached out, gently brushing away the hair from her forehead.

Should he kill her, or take her away and force her to reveal the whereabouts of the chip?

This woman would rather die than divulge the location of the chip, taking her would be a waste of effort then.

In truth, he was not worried that the chip would fall into someone else’s hands, but without it, he would face many troubles.

It contained all his business secrets from over a decade, and he had no backup; losing it meant starting over from scratch.

What worried him more was if the password on the chip was deciphered, then he would really be finished.

Therefore, it’s better to eradicate the root of potential problems entirely rather than leave any hidden dangers.

The whereabouts of the chip should only be known to Mo Lan.

Killing her would mean no one else would know...

Better than waiting for her to wake up and tell others.

Thinking this, Qi Ruigang bent down, his hands braced on either side of Mo Lan, his face nearly touching hers.

His sinister gaze fixed on her, he slightly parted his lips: ”If you don’t want to die, open your eyes now!”

Mo Lan remained motionless, showing no signs of waking.

Qi Ruigang stood up again, coldly saying, ”Then I’ll have to send you on your way.”

He reached out, slowly lifting her oxygen mask...

Beep, beep—

The lines on the electrocardiogram suddenly quickened.

This was due to lack of oxygen causing rapid breathing, making the heartbeat accelerate.

Qi Ruigang stared at the electrocardiogram, his eyes darkening.

He clenched his jaw slightly, telling himself that it was all her forcing him!

Anyway, now it was either her death or his...

But his heart did not feel any relief or satisfaction; instead, it grew increasingly gloomy.

The truth was, even if Mo Lan died, he would never get the chip, and he did not want to start over.

Climbing to his current position, starting over meant a certain death for him.

Who knows how many people outside were waiting to take him down.

If Qi Ruisen and his people let slip that he no longer had the chip, they would seize the opportunity to strike...

As long as Mo Lan was alive, he could be safer!

Qi Ruigang quickly placed the oxygen mask back over Mo Lan’s nose and mouth, the slightly quickened electrocardiogram gradually returning to normal.

Qi Ruigang narrowed his eyes slightly, then curved his lips into a smile, and bent down to kiss Mo Lan’s forehead.

He withdrew from the room, closed the door, and instructed his subordinates to keep guard while he went back to his room to rest.

***************

Early in the morning, around seven o’clock, Qi Ruigang came out of the resting room punctually.

The atmosphere outside was a bit off.

Qi Ruisen’s subordinates were positioned at their usual posts, while Qi Ruisen himself stood outside the glass wall, his back towards him, staring intently at Mo Lan inside the ward.

Upon hearing his exit, Qi Ruisen turned and indifferently said, ”In a few minutes, the police will be here.”

”Police?” Qi Ruigang’s eyes turned icy.

Qi Ruisen nodded: ”The video of you sneaking into the ward last night attempting to murder Mo Lan, I’ve already sent it to the police station. The police will be here soon to arrest you for attempted murder.”
