She Lives without Regret in This Life

Liu Yilan widened her eyes, thinking she was dreaming again! Otherwise, why would the man in front of her appear here?

”You, you... you...” Her lips parted slightly, but she couldn’t form a complete sentence for a long time, thinking about his domineering indifference made her sweat on her forehead.

”I... I left because I had an urgent matter, and I’m really not suitable to be the young master’s teacher.” She quite liked Lin En, and with Lin En’s relationship with Sheng Ning, her affection was genuinely deep. Because of this, when the Duke of Westminster sent someone to invite her to be Lin En’s music teacher, she agreed.

But... but she never thought that being a teacher would mean suffering harassment from the student’s parent.

”So you don’t want to be a private tutor?” The Duke’s standard London accent was irresistibly elegant, the kind of elegance etched into his very bones, permeating his bloodline. Even if he spoke a curse, it wouldn’t diminish his nobility.

Upon hearing this, Liu Yilan quickly nodded.

”Since that’s the case...” The Duke paused, his ocean-blue eyes revealing a hint of a playful smile, as if he thought of something pleasant, lending a touch of warmth to this normally expressionless, cold-as-ice man.

Liu Yilan said nothing, staring at him with wide eyes, feeling a sense of dread about whatever he was going to say next.

”Since you don’t want to be my son’s teacher, how about being his stepmother?” The Duke, without giving her a chance to hesitate or resist, tilted his head and sealed her lips.

This woman was truly mischievous. When she was a private tutor for his son at the castle, she resisted him, yet somehow intrigued him enough to want to see her every moment. It was even more infuriating that she dared to sneak away, making him search for so long to find her.

Now, she had an innocent look about her.

She had no idea how she had been recently; his torment almost drove her mad. The entire castle staff avoided him. Now that he had caught her, he surely intended to reclaim every bit of loss inflicted during this time.

Liu Yilan’s mind went blank, her heart skipped a beat with anger and fury mingled with a hint of joy. She didn’t know what was wrong with her, feeling like she was ill.

After a long time, the Duke finally released her, frowning slightly, seemingly dissatisfied.

”No good.” He shook his head seriously, ”You’re like a piece of wood.”

”...” Liu Yilan was thoroughly enraged, ”That was my first kiss, do you understand what a first kiss is?” She was furious.

”Really? I am very happy, extremely happy.” The Duke displayed a joyful smile identical to Lin En’s earlier in the banquet hall. Truly like father, like son, when trying to please someone, they always showed the same expression, making one unable to resist.

”Western women are too open, not good, very bad.”

Liu Yilan sneered, ”Hmph! It’s not just Western women who are open; I think Western men are even more liberal, aren’t they?”

”I’m not liberal.” The Duke said seriously, ”This was my first time kissing a woman.”

”So did you really like men before, and that’s why you kissed a woman for the first time?” Liu Yilan thought of a secret circulating in high society, that many claimed the Duke of Westminster liked men.

It was rumored that he had kept male companions at home and had children only for family succession.
