She Lives without Regret in This Life

Today is the last day of the selection process, mainly for the song and dance group; the instrument group and theater are not within the scope currently. Wu Youli is from the theater club and doesn’t need to participate, but she also followed to the auditorium below as part of the audience.

As Sheng Ning passed by her, she quietly handed her a black paper bag.

”What’s this?” Wu Youli was immediately attracted by the exquisite packaging of the paper bag.

”Chocolates, Dabao asked for them.”

”...You really brought them for her? She’s going to become a little pig if she keeps eating them.” Wu Youli was speechless, Sheng Ning really spoils Dabao. ”How much has she eaten already? I’m starting to suspect you’ve opened a chocolate factory.”

”Hahaha...” Sheng Ning couldn’t help but laugh, ”No, a friend returned from the M country and I specifically had them bring quite a bit.” Dabao was crazy about chocolates and pestered her every day. Just in time, during this period, doctors and medical equipment from the M country were constantly being transported to the hospital, so she had people buy a lot more.

”Then I’ll go to the front first.”

”Go ahead!”

The first two rows in the front were reserved for judges and special seats, and many people had come. Besides the internal leaders of the General Union, there were several teachers from the Song and Dance Troupe, the Captain, the Director, and also various major arts groups from outside.

This exchange and study session was essentially predetermined, and the news ten days ago caused a huge sensation in the entire literary and arts circle, even the Ministry of Culture got involved.

Many people were unhappy about it, and more were puzzled at how the General Union Dance Troupe was so lucky. These people were like bees drawn to pollen, flocking over to gather information from all directions.

Many wanted to participate, but someone as domineering as Yang Wenying would never agree. Fortunately, Yang Wenying kept her mouth shut tightly and didn’t leak a single word of the real situation outside; she blocked it all, preventing them from reaching Sheng Ning.

”Sheng Ning, come sit here.” Qiu Bai stood up from the first row and beckoned to her, beaming and full of spirits.

”Coming.” Sheng Ning quickened her pace to go over and exchanged a warm hug with Qiu Bai.

Both had spent considerable time in the M country and were already accustomed to this type of etiquette. They were both elegant and poised beauties, and as they embraced, there was a graceful and generous display of camaraderie. Around them, glances occasionally swept over, and as their numbers increased, quite a few people were already staring in a daze.

”I heard you have plenty of gowns, it would be a shame not to wear one on an occasion like this.” Qiu Bai whispered.

”Yes!” As they parted, Sheng Ning adjusted her clothes, ”I brought many gowns back, quite a few tailored to your size. When you have a break, come to me and pick out a few more.”

”Great!” Qiu Bai responded swiftly; given their identities and status, exchanging gifts or clothes is a rare show of sincerity and a display of close relationship.

As for money, or gift-giving, who cares?

Sheng Ning was willing to give, showing her sincerity.

Qiu Bai was willing to receive, demonstrating her regard for Sheng Ning; if it were anyone else, even gifting a mountain of gold wouldn’t entice a glance.

”Sit next to me.” A seat next to Qiu Bai remained empty; it was estimated she had intentionally reserved it for her. The very front, center, and best position. Given Qiu Bai’s stature and domestic prestige, only she qualified to sit there.

The people seated nearby were mostly older, with certain standing.

”Isn’t this inappropriate?” Sheng Ning hesitated a bit, since Yang Wenying was seated in the second row, it didn’t seem quite suitable to sit in the first row.
