From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

”One month?”

At these words, Shen Xuan’s eyes flashed with excitement.

”Are you absolutely sure?” he asked directly.

Li Yang nodded gravely. With his Thunder Star Beast avatar, the ’explosion’ aspect—one of the four fundamentals of the Thunder Law—was clearly laid out before him. He was constantly making progress.

Within a month, he was certain he could break through.

Seeing Li Yang’s confidence, Shen Xuan believed his words.

He knew a little about the Cosmos. The Law Realm was the strongest on Earth, but in the grand scheme of the entire Cosmos, it was truly insignificant... After it came the Longevity Realm, the Star Lord Realm, and the World Realm...

If one truly encountered a great opportunity, breaking through to the Law Realm wasn’t all that difficult.

Of course, Shen Xuan was being a bit naive. Situations like Li Yang’s, where a breakthrough to the Law Realm seemed so easy, were extremely rare throughout the entire Cosmos... This was mainly because Shen Xuan knew far too little about the Cosmos.

Shen Xuan was visibly excited. He looked at Li Yang and said, ”Li Yang, I was previously planning to reveal Earth’s existence directly. I had even made up my mind.”

At this point, Earth was completely without hope. Compared to the potential casualties, it would actually be more advantageous to let aliens take control of the planet.

At the very least, the aliens could easily deal with the mutated sea creatures.

”However, now that you’re confident you can break through to the Law Realm, I’ll hold off on revealing our location for now. After you’ve truly broken through, I will contact the alien civilization! It will take them ten days to travel from the center of the Milky Way Galaxy to Earth! Our planet can afford to wait!”

Shen Xuan wouldn’t act recklessly without absolute certainty.

A single decision of his could completely alter the fate of the entire planet!

Even though Li Yang was very confident, Shen Xuan had to wait until he actually broke through before making contact.

Otherwise, if he made contact and the people from the Human Race Saint Hall arrived, only for Li Yang to have some small accident and fail his breakthrough, the outcome would be absolutely disastrous.

Even if Li Yang broke through later, Earth would have already been taken over, and they wouldn’t just relinquish control because of his breakthrough.

For a planet that has been taken over to have that control relinquished, it must produce two geniuses who break through to the Law Realm before the age of thirty, or one powerhouse at the Longevity Realm!

”Ten days?” Hearing this, a sense of urgency surged within Li Yang.

’According to Shen Xuan’s decision, the moment I break through to the Law Realm will also be the moment Earth is exposed.’

After speaking, Shen Xuan added, ”Li Yang, for this next month, you should just focus on your breakthrough.”

Before he could finish, Li Yang shook his head and said, ”Palace Master, I choose to fight.”

He had his Thunder Star Beast avatar; his real body didn’t even need to comprehend the Law.

”Won’t you be distracted? Will it affect your comprehension of the Thunder Law?” Shen Xuan asked with a slight frown.

”It won’t,” Li Yang replied, shaking his head.

’With Earth riddled with crises, I can’t just choose to hide away and relax by myself.’

Seeing Li Yang’s resolve, Shen Xuan nodded and said, ”Alright. Since you’re confident, do as you wish.”

At this point, Shen Xuan’s expression turned serious. ”Li Yang, you must not let anyone find out that you’ve comprehended a trace of the Thunder Law. In public, you must only display the power of an ordinary Peak of King Level cultivator!”

In Shen Xuan’s mind, Li Yang had undoubtedly become the most important person on Earth.

”Yes, Palace Master.” Li Yang nodded.

...

While Shen Xuan and Li Yang were talking, the internet, text messages, short videos, and all major news outlets suddenly began reporting on the same thing at the same time.

”Alien Invasion!”

”Sea Creatures Have Mutated! The Oceans Are Full of Danger!”

”Residents of Coastal Cities Must Evacuate Orderly Towards the Interior!”

”The Cultivators of Earth!”

One news story after another appeared, blanketing the world and instantly sweeping across the globe.

”Holy crap! What’s going on? Did I wake up to the end of the world?”

”Alien invasion? Cataclysmic changes in the ocean? Is it April Fools’ Day?”

”Can someone please tell me what the hell is happening?”

...

As the news broke, the entire planet erupted in an uproar. Almost everyone was talking about it.

The crucial part was that as soon as you unlocked your phone, this was the message, this was the news, and this was what the video feeds were pushing.

It felt like being in a dream.

And accompanying this news were videos.

Opening the videos revealed scenes of the ocean. Giant beasts swam in the water, and figures could be seen battling them.

With a wave of their hands, they summoned flames, streams of water, and more, just like the Cultivators from fantasy novels.

”Are these videos for some kind of TV show?”

”I mean... this can’t be real, can it? I checked, and it’s not just our Hua Country; similar news is popping up in every other country too!”

”It’s real! I experienced it myself! I was on a cruise ship when a giant sea serpent, over twenty meters long, appeared. Then a young man showed up. He could stand in mid-air, and with a wave of his hand, lightning appeared, just like the Thunder God. The massive sea serpent was blasted into several pieces by the lightning.”

”I’ll vouch for the poster above. People from Hua Country don’t lie to their own.”

...

The comment sections under the videos exploded, the forums exploded... every place that allowed comments completely blew up!

Many people simply didn’t believe it.

The thing is, everything was fine yesterday. To wake up today to a sudden apocalypse with an alien invasion—anyone would feel like it had to be fake.

However, what came next were live video streams.

Right now, short mobile videos are the most popular format, especially on Douyin, which has billions of users.

Upon opening Douyin and other short video apps, a live stream appeared right at the top.

The stream showed a ship with many people on board. At that moment, a giant great white shark appeared.

This great white shark could actually fly. Its body was covered in layers of frost, and its sharp teeth were half as tall as a person, making for a terrifying sight.

”Viewers, the footage you are seeing now is being broadcast via satellite from a location in the Pacific Ocean, where a giant great white shark has appeared. It can fly, which means this is a King Level great white shark!”

A narrator’s voice rang in everyone’s ears.

With the news of ”Earth’s apocalypse” spreading, many people refused to believe it and were unwilling to leave their homes and evacuate.

At a time like this, it was necessary to show the public the reality of the battles between Cultivators and these mutated sea creatures. Only then would people believe the truth and follow instructions.

”That great white shark has to be over twenty meters long.”

”Oh my god, are you sure this isn’t a movie?”

”It’s definitely not. This is a live stream, and the footage is too realistic.”

”It’s actually real! That’s my friend, Zhang Yu! He’s on that ship!”

Everyone watching the screen held their breath. They could even see the terrified faces of the people on the ship.

Just the thought of facing a great white shark over twenty meters long was enough to make them feel like they’d be scared to death.
