From the Metropolis to the Strongest in the Cosmos

Having joined the Celestial Origin Palace, Li Yang could now access a wealth of information, including details on previously discovered Spirit Fruits and Medicinal Herbs. The Seven-Colored Spirit Fruit was one such example. As for the plant currently in his hand, however, he didn’t recognize it.

’It doesn’t seem to help improve my strength.’

Li Yang tried to absorb the Spiritual Power from within the purple medicinal herb, but after he finished, his strength hadn’t changed at all.

Not all medicinal herbs were meant to increase one’s strength.

’I should look it up.’

Li Yang mulled it over and decided to do some research.

The last time he’d encountered the Seven-Colored Spirit Fruit, it had been a Spirit Fruit purely for increasing one’s power. It could even purify one’s constitution, making cultivation much easier.

For Li Yang, directly refining it was the best option.

However, there were all kinds of other Spirit Fruits. For some, the best effect came from ingesting them whole. The Spiritual Power of other Spirit Fruits couldn’t increase one’s strength but was incredibly beneficial to the body, such as restorative fruits.

Their Spiritual Power couldn’t increase one’s strength, but if one was seriously injured, it could help them recover from their wounds with incredible speed.

Some Spirit Fruits and Medicinal Herbs could even grant a huge, temporary boost in strength after being consumed, but one’s power would revert to its original level after a certain period.

He had no idea what the effects of the Spirit Grass in front of him were.

Back on shore, Li Yang took out his phone and anonymously logged into a secret website. The site had a very simple name: the Cultivator Website.

However, logging in was very difficult. Every Cultivator had their own unique account, and only those accounts could be used to access the site.

”Fellow Daoists, I found a medicinal herb. Could you all take a look and see if it’s a treasure?”

”One stalk of Qi Xuan Grass, full of Spiritual Power. Five contribution points. Anyone interested can DM me on the site.”

...

The forum was filled with all sorts of posts, much like any other forum on the internet, but the content was completely different. There were even people selling Spirit Fruits and Medicinal Herbs. Of course, the prices for these were certainly higher than in the Celestial Origin Palace.

For example, the Celestial Origin Palace might sell a Spirit Fruit or Medicinal Herb for 10 contribution points, but a private sale could fetch as much as 11, or even 13 or 14 points.

Everyone coveted Spirit Fruits and Medicinal Herbs, so they were usually traded away almost as soon as they became available.

From what Li Yang could see, there was a lot of information about the Celestial Origin Palace’s Spirit Fruits and Medicinal Herbs, but none were actually available to buy.

When such treasures became available, you had to snatch them up immediately. After all, what could be better than improving your strength?

That’s why private trades were so common.

The Celestial Origin Palace didn’t interfere with this kind of activity.

Of course, these private trades were risky. There had even been incidents in the past of people being murdered for their treasures.

As for trading directly with the Celestial Origin Palace, on the other hand, identities were kept completely confidential. No one would ever know who made the trade.

After a moment of thought, Li Yang took a picture of the purple medicinal herb in his hand and posted it.

”Could everyone help me identify this? What kind of medicinal herb is it?”

The administrator of the Celestial Origin Palace’s forum was one of its high-ranking members. Li Yang’s post was anonymous, so besides the admin, no one knew who had posted it.

There were quite a few people browsing the forum, and newly discovered things like medicinal herbs and Spirit Fruits always drew a great deal of interest.

”What kind of herb is that?”

”Never seen it.”

”I don’t recognize it either. How much Spiritual Power does it have?”

The number of replies below kept growing.

...

Lin Tianxu was a powerhouse at the Peak of Heaven-level in the Celestial Origin Palace. He also had another identity: the head administrator of the Celestial Origin Palace’s forum.

’Still a little bit off.’

As he finished his cultivation, Lin Tianxu shook his head.

He had been at the Peak of Heaven-level for five years and had tried to break through to the King Level several times, but every attempt had ended in failure.

Cultivation before the King Level wasn’t considered particularly difficult, but there was a massive bottleneck between the Peak of Heaven-level and the King Level. Many people were trapped there, completely unable to break through.

Zheng Qian’s father, for instance, had been stuck at the Celestial Level for more than twenty years before he finally broke through to the King Level.

Having finished his cultivation session, Lin Tianxu opened the forum to have a look.

’Hm? An unfamiliar herb?’ Lin Tianxu opened the thread Li Yang had created.

After opening it, his eyes fell upon the purple medicinal herb.

”This is...”

As he looked at the herb, Lin Tianxu froze for a moment, then his eyes lit up with utter, joyous surprise.

”Purple Heart Grass! It’s actually Purple Heart Grass!” His face was filled with excitement, as if he had just discovered an incredible treasure.

’Purple Heart Grass is a communal Spirit Grass. It always appears in large patches, and its growing conditions are extremely demanding. It can only be found in places where Spiritual Power is exceptionally dense!’

All sorts of information about Purple Heart Grass flashed through Lin Tianxu’s mind.

’Earth has Spiritual Power, but it’s more or less the same density everywhere. Places with exceptionally dense Spiritual Power must be special... It could be the location of a ruin!’

’The last time Purple Heart Grass appeared in large quantities was at the entrance of the Great Desolation Ruins. After the ruins opened, a lot of remnant medicinal herbs and Spirit Fruits were found inside. Even though they were only remnants, with less than a tenth of their original Spiritual Power, their effects were still incredibly potent!’

Lin Tianxu grew excited. Earth was a mysterious place. Cultivators existed not only in the present but also in the past, and there were even unknown ruins left behind from bygone eras.

Some of these ruins contained few treasures, while others held many. A significant portion of them even contained things that were of great benefit to King Level Cultivators!

The appearance of any new ruin would send many a King Level Cultivator into a frenzy, causing them to rush over immediately!

The lucky few who found fortuitous encounters within them could see their strength advance by leaps and bounds!
