Chapter 569: Chapter 258: Ninth-Grade Golden Core, Second Lady of the House, Raising Troops to Demand Justice (4)

Gongsun Wen furrowed his brow.

The newly appointed Clan Leader had just left, and something seemed to have gone wrong within the clan.

A technique struck the Soul Hall’s array platform, and the array light curtain instantly shut off, causing Gongsun Yun’s face to fall:

”Eleventh Brother, you must help me this time; otherwise, the Patriarch will surely swallow me whole!”

Gongsun Wen was naturally the anchor among the younger generation.

He had tempered himself at Repentance Cliff for over ten years.

After coming out.

His actions became more prudent.

Especially when Second Elder Gongsun Run tried to forcefully ascend to the position of Patriarch against ancestral teachings, Gongsun Wen led the younger generation in mediating. Although they couldn’t stop him from taking the Patriarch’s position, they significantly weakened the Patriarch’s various privileges.

Because of this.

The younger generation of Elders became more reliant on Gongsun Wen.

Otherwise.

Gongsun Yun wouldn’t have come to find Gongsun Wen as soon as something happened:

”Eighteenth Brother, let’s talk in the side hall, don’t worry, I’ll hold up the sky for you if it falls.”

After the two sat down in a side hall.

Gongsun Yun hesitated to speak, finally gritting his teeth and said:

”Eleventh Brother, the Treasure Vault... the Spirit Stones originally accumulated for bidding at the next Wanning Commerce Association’s Foundation Establishment Pill auction have disappeared! These Spirit Stones were accumulated by the whole clan tightening their belts for ten years, but... but when I went in to check today, I found only an empty shell in the box, with not a single one of the hundreds of thousands of Spirit Stones left. Eleventh Brother, what... what should we do!!”

When the new Patriarch inherited the position.

Several of the young Elders had made things so unpleasant for them.

Now, catching this opportunity.

The new Patriarch was sure to make an example out of them!

As they say, new officials apply three fires upon taking office.

The first fire landed on him, and he felt incredibly unlucky.

Upon hearing this, Gongsun Wen asked Gongsun Yun several questions, then took out and reviewed the logbook of entries and exits from the Treasure Vault, and called over the clan members who guarded the Treasure Vault for questioning.

Lastly.

Gongsun Wen let out a cold laugh:

”Eighteenth Brother, the Patriarch embezzled these Spirit Stones!”

Hundreds of thousands of Spirit Stones were hidden in the inner chamber of the Treasure Vault.

In that chamber.

Apart from the Pass Token in Gongsun Yun’s hand, the Clan Leader Token held by the Patriarch also allowed access, and since there was no external thief, and Gongsun Yun wasn’t the internal thief, naturally, it was the Patriarch who took them.

Gongsun Yun was momentarily dumbfounded, then suddenly realized:

”Absolutely, I somehow forgot, besides me, the Patriarch can freely enter and exit the dark chamber. The Patriarch took the Spirit Stones but didn’t even bother to inform me.”

Gongsun Yun was scared half to death.

At this point, he was very dissatisfied with the new Patriarch’s conduct.

But Gongsun Wen’s eyes narrowed slightly, and he said coldly:

”Eighteenth Brother, send a message immediately and have the other brothers come to the Soul Hall.”

.....

After being conferred by the World Suppression Bureau, Gongsun Run did not stay long at Wanning Marketplace, and returned to his fief, ready to contact the Seven Strange People of Lingnan to see how things were progressing.

However, as soon as he entered the mountain gate.

He was informed by clan members:

”Patriarch, several Elders request your presence at the Council Hall.”

”They’re reacting quite quickly,”

Gongsun Run chuckled coldly.

He naturally understood these young brats’ intentions, seeing that none of the veteran Foundation Establishments were left in the clan, and he had illegitimately taken the Patriarch position, this gave them a reason and an excuse.

Thus.

He decided to act first and report later, taking those Spirit Stones into his own hands.

Fortunately.

The heavens favored him.

Giving him a great opportunity, enabling him to make an achievement.

As per the timeline.

The Seven Strange People of Lingnan should have already teamed up with Cao Xueyang to eliminate the Yu Family by now, which was his first accomplishment as the Patriarch, enough to suppress these young brats.

Gongsun Run walked unhurriedly towards the Council Hall.

Upon entering the hall.

He saw several people inside suddenly fix their gazes onto him, but all were filled with fury, since using tens of thousands of Spirit Stones without unanimous agreement from the Elder Council evidently displayed contempt for its authority!
