Immortality begins with Becoming an Alchemy Grandmaster

The Elixir Saint’s Blessed Land contains spiritual mechanisms; this is no secret to Luo Chen.

When the Alchemy Saint Hall opened that year, Luo Chen personally verified it while cultivating the Refining Heaven Machine pill technique in the Blessed Land.

Perhaps the quantity is far less than the vastness of the outer world, but it is more than enough for refining elixirs.

At this moment, under Luo Chen’s execution of the Refining Heaven Machine, the Elixir Saint’s Blessed Land seemed to tremble slightly, as a wisp of misty spiritual mechanism drifted over.

With Luo Chen’s Red Eyes Golden Pupils, which had become increasingly brighter through cultivation, he could see it clearly.

”It’s said that Divine Transformation cultivators must cultivate in places rich with spirit qi to seek spiritual mechanisms, comprehend the deeper laws’ true intents, and even construct dharma images, roaming through the primordial energy ocean. If they mastered such mystical pill techniques as the Refining Heaven Machine, could they cultivate anywhere without being constrained by Fifth Order spirit vein lands?”

A thought flashed through his mind, and Luo Chen focused back on the ongoing pill refinement.

The wisp of spiritual mechanism quietly merged into the Primordial Chaos Tripod.

With the integration of this wisp of spiritual mechanism, the previously violently reacting medicinal liquid started to condense rapidly.

Luo Chen multitasked, keeping an eye on the formation of the Ti Hu Pill while carefully observing the changes in the Primordial Chaos Tripod itself.

The formation of the Ti Hu Pill was smooth, as if the medicinal liquid naturally aligned with the spiritual mechanism, even speeding up the process significantly.

And the Primordial Chaos Tripod... everything was normal!

Luo Chen furrowed his brow, puzzled yet remaining vigilant.

But after three days had passed, with the rich aroma of pills wafting out of the tripod, he still detected nothing.

Meanwhile, below, the watching disciples, upon smelling the escaping pill fragrance, concentrated with anticipation.

Luo Chen did not keep them waiting long.

Using his unique pill collecting technique, he completed the final steps.

One stream of light after another flew out of the tripod.

One, two, three... until the fifth, finally it was exhausted.

Below, Qu Lingjun, holding a jade plate, heard a ding-dong sound from within, and saw five bright yellow, golden pill pills quietly lying inside.

”It’s done?”

He muttered in disbelief, ”Succeeded in just one try?”

This miracle instantly electrified the atmosphere on-site.

Many found it unbelievable, even though they had contributed to the completion of the Ti Hu Pill formula, they still could not believe it succeeded in one attempt.

They even thought that even Alchemy Saint Chu Yan, if alive, could not achieve success so easily!

Yet the Supreme Elder nonchalantly refined five pills.

Luo Chen cast a Cleaning Technique, lightly washing the Primordial Chaos Tripod.

Facing the crowd’s fervent eyes, he shook his head with a gentle smile.

”A bit of luck, succeeding on the first try.”

”But though the pills are formed, their potency is still not stable. To reach a consumable state, they must be nurtured in a place rich with spirit qi for several years to internalize their potency.”

Despite his words, he still could not shake the disciples’ admiration.

Luo Chen did not mind and began preparing to refine a second batch of Ti Hu Pills.

With the resources of the Luo Tian Sect, plus Deng Taiyue’s decades of collecting efforts, they had a substantial quantity of materials for the Ti Hu Pill.

Holding onto them would be a waste, so he decided to strike while the iron was hot and refine them all in one go!

Unfortunately, subsequent refinements met with failures.

The second time, everything was normal at first, but the medicinal liquid failed to form when incorporating the spiritual mechanism, and he could only watch as the liquid turned to residue under the True Fire’s burn.

The third time, the fourth time, the same happened.

After three consecutive failures, all occurring at the same point, even Luo Chen’s iron-clad will was frustrated.

The disciples had no complaints, seeing the Supreme Elder’s unnervingly stable pill refinement technique, with each step near perfection.

Even though it did not succeed in the end, it seemed like a little luck was all that was missing.

Luo Chen did not concern himself with their thoughts, remaining immersed in each subsequent pill refinement.

Gradually, Luo Chen realized.

The issue might not be with the pill formula or elixir liquid, but rather with the Refining Heaven Machine pill technique itself.

The process of guiding the spiritual mechanism requires operating the law’s true intent, merging one’s mind with heaven and earth. Some of his attention was split observing the Primordial Chaos Tripod, often missing the optimal moment.

The first success was indeed just luck!

Hence, Luo Chen stopped observing the Primordial Chaos Tripod and dedicated himself fully to pill refinement.

Though the fifth try also failed, the following seven attempts resulted in two successes!

When Qu Lingjun excitedly presented the jade plate, Luo Chen looked at the fifteen golden pill pills, feeling a bit dazed.

All the materials supported twelve refinements in total.

And there were three successes!

This success rate far exceeded entry-level proficiency.

In other words, he broke the normal rules of the proficiency panel.

Such occurrences had happened before, but seldom resulting in more than one extra success.

This time, there were three times!

”Was it the quality change from my Great Grandmaster level pill refinement skill, or the effect of the Primordial Chaos Tripod?”

Luo Chen rubbed a golden pill, currently unable to assess the grade, but all fifteen were at least at the Fourth Order Level.

He exhaled a breath of turbid air, ”Let them be nurtured at Divine Peak! Min Longyu has set up the optimal Gathering Spirit Array there and will personally oversee this batch of Ti Hu Pills.”

”Yes, Master!”

Qu Lingjun nodded respectfully, then he and the weary disciples gradually departed.
