Immortality begins with Becoming an Alchemy Grandmaster

”I’ll count to three, we each let go, then settle this once and for all!”

Without waiting for Qing Shuang’s response, Luo Chen slowly released the tightly gripped heart.

”One!”

”Two!”

”Three...”

”You madwoman!”

Luo Chen tightened his grip once more on that lively, beating heart.

The pain from his neck was unbearable.

He tried to take a deep breath, but couldn’t, glancing upwards.

Then, suppressing the urge to kill, he whispered, ”If we keep fighting, neither of us will end up well. I... don’t want to die!”

Without waiting for Qing Shuang’s reply, he struggled to speak, ”I know you’re not afraid to die, but can you afford it? If you die, who will go to Soulbreak Cliff to save your sister?”

”With Yuan Jun’s abilities, do you really believe she is dead?”

”Alright, even if she is dead, I have mastered the ’Tianhuang Nirvana Sutra’ and know the Phoenix Nirvana Method. Though I cannot use it, your sister surely knows that technique. Doesn’t she still have a chance for Nirvana Rebirth?”

”You must live, only then can you find Soulbreak Cliff and rescue your sister!”

The sharp teeth at his neck seemed to loosen.

Luo Chen sighed in relief and no longer gripped the soft heart.

”Let’s speak candidly... Uh, after all, there isn’t really deep hatred between us. Everything I did before was due to being pressured by the Tianyuan Daoist Sect. You saw it yourself; I originally planned to leave Soulbreak Cliff without getting involved in your conflicts.”

”So, let’s both let go and leave. If we get a chance later, I can help you find Qi Xia Emperor. With Nirvana Sacred Fire within me, it won’t be hard to locate the ever-changing Soulbreak Cliff together with you.”

”Shall I count to three again, and we each let go?”

”One!”

”I don’t trust you!”

”Two... huh?” Luo Chen was surprised and glanced at the fair face even though covered in mud and sand.

He thought for a moment and suddenly said, ”I have an item named Life and Death Gu.”

”Your Gu Insects, I trust even less!”

Luo Chen didn’t know how she was making sounds; not from opening her mouth, nor ventriloquism, and not through Divine Consciousness Voice Transmission, but as she trembled, the voice seemed clear and precise.

Luo Chen considered, ”How about we each cast a Prohibition?”

”You managed to hide for so long under Chun Yuan’s nose, your Array Forbiddance must be highly skilled, I still can’t trust it.”

Luo Chen gritted his teeth, ”Oath of Dao!”

This time, Qing Shuang fell silent.

Silence represented a wavering resolve.

Luo Chen truly didn’t want to die in this dark pit beneath the earth.

He had been through highs and lows, had glorious times.

He didn’t want to die here and become just a place where future generations seek fortunes.

He presented the final terms.

”Let’s each plant a Life and Death Gu, then a Prohibition for crucial threats to prevent changes later, and finally swear an Oath of Dao, agreeing not to harm each other before Divine Transformation. How about turning foes into friends with three layers of constraints?”

As he spoke, he completely released her soft heart.

There was a surge of breath at his nose, indicating she had opened her mouth yet was ready to bite.

Luo Chen shouted hoarsely.

”Think of your sister!”

Raging as Qing Shuang was, his shout finally brought clarity.

She slowly loosened her mouth, sharp teeth like swords drawing bit by bit from Luo Chen’s neck.

Finally, she raised her head; sand fell down, and a complex gaze fixed on Luo Chen.

”Let’s begin!”

Luo Chen was relieved and looked upwards.

”Seems you’ve noticed that guy’s arrival too.”
